bullet8542 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Great design.......But just one more thing I have to buy this year, I may have to take up crack smoking it may just be a cheaper habit. Quote

Kanal-K1 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Hi fellows, one of the members of my AFOL forum Brickdome.cz is working on a review of 10194, which he built right today. Although it is in Czech language, maybe you will be interested to see real photos : See it here. Quote
Hinckley Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I hope to clarify the issue with two pictures:These are the switching tracks I own: These are the new(er) switching tracks: Please notice the amount of space is bigger at the newer switching tracks, the older ones only allow a maximum width of 6. You can spread the distance between the tracks with two curved track pieces... Besides as Sava pointed out, they can accomodate 7 wide trains running next to eachother. Quote
m'kheyl Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 This set got me thinking, how about lego trains going digital ? A modern decoder could fit in a 2*4 brick, which can easily be integrated in a model. The whole digital thing is a bit costy at first but totally worth it once you have 2 trains or more and if you're serious about it. I know I'd sell all my marklin stuff right away and get some lego trains instead PS: I know it's doable for 9V trains but I'd love some genuine lego digital system without "getting my hands dirty" Quote

The function of the drive looks really difficult and very realistic! Klaus-Dieter Quote
legomilk Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 if you look the numbers are the engine and lights that are already for sale through the shop at home USA. so there'll be no special engine off. but am not 100% sure Quote
Freddie Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Czech factory leaking again? I'm a little dissapointed to see that the motor mounts are in the cabin, meaning the interior will have to be gutted to fit one. Ah well, at least it drives the correct wheels, and not just pushes it with the tender. Quote

Kanal-K1 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Czech factory leaking again? Most probably. No problem to buy this set here in our country. I had an offer already one week ago. As it is officially not sold yet, I am nearly sure, that all those offers are from factory leakage. Quote
brickzone Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Note the pictures of the bags, the curved green panel parts seem to indeed be *printed* with those gold lines - less stickers! (and there do seem to be plenty elsewhere!) Quote
Er!k Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Is the train running on the new tracks in the Czech review? Quote

Kanal-K1 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Is the train running on the new tracks in the Czech review? Train is photographed on the standard RC tracks, review maker doesn´t have a power set to motorize 10194, so his review is just static.. Quote
jonwil Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Given that the set is clearly available at least somewhere in the world, is there any chance someone who has it can post a scan/photo/whatever of the various inventory pages from the instructions? And some pictures of all the new parts (the front wheels, the drive wheels etc) Also and more to the point, can anyone tell me (by using the pictures or the real parts if you are lucky enough to have them) how large the wheels (both front and drive) and whether there are any other wheels, train or otherwise, that are close enough in size such that I can use them as a temporary substitute until the set is available to me (so I can start working on my locomotive now and just swap in the real wheels when they become Bah, stupid LEGO making us wait until 15th April for this set, I want one now :P (Even if it was just available for pre-order I would place a S@H order right now) Quote

Holodoc Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 the moter sethttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3322/332882..._8825032f3e.jpg Nice! Now we have a first look at the remote control! Very promissing! What I´d like to know now is, whether they sell all of those PF-"modules" in one set , or if you have to buy them one by one . Although I would be interested to get a couple of those 8870 LED-lights if they are sold seperately. Quote
legotrainfan Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Thanks, legomilk, for the information on the motorisation of Emerald Night! As Holodoc, I'm also asking myself whether they are selling all that stuff separately or as one set; I hope the latter is the case. Do you think Emerald Night can run on 9V curves? The three big wheels don't seem to be able to move left or right. Sometimes I ask myself if that mysterious flexible track is needed to create curves for Emerald Night since the radius of 9V/RC tracks wouldn't allow the locomotive to run on them. Just an assumption. I hope that it can also run on curved 9V tracks. Quote

Freddie Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Although I would be interested to get a couple of those 8870 LED-lights if they are sold seperately. I think they were confirmed to be sold separately. But, they're powered on the same circuit as the receivers, which means they can't be powered via classic 9V without some sort of "bridge" - in other words, don't bother if you're running 9V only. On the other hand, they function as indicators if power is left on, so it'll be easy to remember to switch it off. Nice to see they didn't make the remote dedicated for once. Especially so for builders who want the variable speed control in their technic and model team MOCs. Quote
WhiteFang Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Anyone seen this folder yet? These images were discussed at the previous pages. This is the link. Quote

It's obvious since all these PF-"modules" are sold seperately since under every single "module" there is written a set number. You already can find two of these "modules" on S@H: 8882 PF XL Motor and 8882 PF IR Receiver (I really wonder for what the IR Receiver is necessary ). Only these both PF-"modules" already cost 27 Euros. So you can imagine how expensive all that together than will get. Klaus-Dieter Edited March 5, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

Klaus-Dieter well, i guess you missed the chance to get them cheap with the monster dino set! it was on sale at S@H for 50% off. the monster dino set comes with a IR controller, a IR receiver, 2 motors and a battery pack. only thing missing are the light bricks. if you buy the PF set now, it only contains 1 motor, 1 battery pack, 1 switch, and 2 light bricks. quite pricy too. so glad i got the monster dino set from S@H.
