mania3 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I was just about to share with everyone that they are using it for the new train icon on the US site, but everyone is already onto it. I'm surprised, honestly, I assumed the image was a fake, but I guess not! It looks great! Quote
Mirandir Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 LOOKS LIKE EMERALD NIGHT IS FOR REAL. On the Canadian website of LEGO shop at home, under the theme section (for trains) the cover image is EMERALD NIGHT! Here is the image I cut from the website... It looks like you can't order it for now but it might just be for a couple of days! :-) Good News! Told you so!! The picture of the Emerald Night is still up in Swedish S@H. IT also says "new" but there's still only 9V and RC trains in train theme. Quote
legomilk Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Sorry I've just used up everything but the photo of the 10194 was not found. have a link where you might well log is Quote
kris kelvin Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 It`s simply great news and this train looks fantastic. Probably the first train I will buy Quote
brickzone Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 It's used as the picture for the Train theme under the "by theme" list on S@H for Ireland also. There is "NEW" on the image suggesting new products in the train category, but none are there yet. Quote

legotrainfan Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) I just checked S@H. Now Emerald Night shows up as the theme picture of the trains of S@H Austria as well. I didn't check all the coutries that have S@H, but this should now be the case everywhere. And, of course, you can't buy it in Austria. Not yet. It's not listed as an item for purchase. But knowing that it's going to be available soon, I believe I'm going to sleep better. Would've been a pity if it had been a fake and nothing more. Edited February 18, 2009 by legotrainfan Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I hereby delare that it is real! *Applause mode on* *Applause mode off* Quote

Nohohon Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 thanks for your info, I am very excited about the new pics you provided . but the price tag ... anyways, I have a feeling that this set is a S@H exclusive but who knows Quote
simonwillems Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 So all theories about this set being a fake can definately be throw overboard! I'll buy this, 89.99 euros is not that bad for a price! Thanks Tony, it seems that TLC has taken a good look at your fantastic trains in the proces of development. Quote
penguinz Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 The images of the train (especially the train car) make me really excited to get this set! However I think that the price is two high! Anyways, thank you for the information. I could travel down to Portland to see it unveiled... but I might be too busy! Quote
Matn Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 90 euro?! That's a great price, normally it's the same number as the dollar price. And thanks for the extra pictures. I'm glad with this one. =) Quote
Moose Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 sweet! its not entirely out of my price range. im gonna be even more broke than i already am after this year of lego! Quote
Big Supie Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Thanks for this great news and the new pictures. Wow. 90EUR are a great deal for this set. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Thanks for the heads up Tony, and the new pictures as well. I sincerely do hope the coaches will become available seperate as well, since tan windows otherwise will be expensive i'm afraid.. Quote
Hinckley Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Thanks for the info, Sava! I'm really pleased with the price (but not with the train doors And it looks like it will be released very soon. What an exciting new set. I do hope TLG decides to sell the train car separately so people can expand the train. One car is a little weak. Quote
Matn Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 What don't you like about the doors, Hinckley? I think they are pretty nice, brick-built can be nice. The normal doors were too big, I guess. And indeed, I hope TLG does the same like with the My Own Train theme, making new sets with apart train cars and other things. Quote
Algernon Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Normally I don't bother myself with Trains, but this is really tempting... look at all those parts! When is it coming out? Quote
Hinckley Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 What don't you like about the doors, Hinckley? They don't look like doors. They look like odd hinged walls, or clunky shutters. I've never seen a train with such doors, they are just wrong, IMO. A "cheat," really. The rest of the set is lovely, though. I can't wait to get it. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 18, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 18, 2009 It looks like this will be my first train! Maybe a silly question (I'm not much into Lego trains), but does this train have an engine so it can drive? Quote

I bet producing a classic train door in tan and brown was cost-prohibitive. And the brick build door is a good work around. I would rather have a new train with brick built doors instead of no train! I would rather have a new train with brick built doors instead of no train! I agree, but it doesn't mean I like them. I don't feel I need to like the doors to like the set. I'll say it one more time: I love the set, don't like the doors. Quote
