The Middleman Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Welcome aboard, Stainboy! It will be based on the 'old' Batman, not the 'Batman Begins' Batman.
Stainboy Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Thanks! Glad to hear it's the old Batman. My only complaint with the minifigure right now, besides the batarang, which is the wrong color, is the fact that the cowl has a nose. LEGOs don't have noses! Well, some of them do, but most of them don't.
thatblockoguy Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Amazing how a topic like this can inspire even the die hard lurkers like myself. This is great if it's true. BTW, I really like this forum. I could never deal with LUGNET, I've never had the patience to argue over shades of grey bricks, and I can only imagine how Bat Lego sets will be received by the die hard AFOLs. Anyway, this is a grown up kid's dream come true! *wub*
Dino_Bot Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 OH My GOD! I've been a Batman Fan since forever! and these aren't the minimates! *chokes and faints* I wonder what comes with it all. BLOCKO! is that you? Im Dino from LoG! remember me?
thatblockoguy Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Hi Dino. This the best news! C3 was short lived but this is way too cool! Between this, Exo force, the new Bionicle sets...geez 2006 is going to be a great year. Let the hype begin!
Dino_Bot Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 *hypes around* YAY! Also remember the weird cyber something Batman line apparently was cancelled...ever hear news about that again? Oh well..more Batsy for me! "He's here!...WHO? The Bat-MAN!"
Athos Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I hope its a fake. I really don't think we need another licensed line to be ruined with flesh-toned figures. Lets go back to the classic sets. Steve
thatblockoguy Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I agree with you on the flesh toned thing. I hope that this is based on the comic version of the character which would be done with yellow mini figs, wouldn't it, because they aren't based on real life actors.
Starwars4J Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 It looks "un-Lego like" because it's a computer generated image. I think it's flesh tone though, not yellow. I understand that, but it's still the same LOOK the minifig is gonna have. I dunno though...I really like it and all, something just seems off about it.
Assassin Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Sorry guys - to ruin a good quote: I came, I saw, I was not impressed. And as for who wouldn't buy a $20 dollar Batmobile ? I guess the line starts behind me.
Dino_Bot Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 After studying the image for an hour... Whew...I decided to draw a couple of conclusions... The box, not the art is what concerns me. See the Lego logo at the right top corner? Its not 90 degrees. its not straight. And where's the Batman logo? It might just be a bad prototype...but...I might believe it if someone told me its CG...But if its real, im gonna be so happy.
languages Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Its definatley not a fake.....the admins have proof......... I dont care about flesh tones anyway.....
MattZitron Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 After studying the image for an hour...Whew...I decided to draw a couple of conclusions... The box, not the art is what concerns me. See the Lego logo at the right top corner? Its not 90 degrees. its not straight. And where's the Batman logo? It might just be a bad prototype...but...I might believe it if someone told me its CG...But if its real, im gonna be so happy. It is 100% true about Lego making a Batman line. Its just a mock up you see. Give it time and we'll see the real line. Trust the word of ME!
Jipay Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 I am still amaze by posts like Athos ones : you have been there for months and still question if it's real or not. When we say : it's real, there shouldn't be any question regarding the reality of the line. It's not like when we say : it might be. It IS real. Now people are mixing everything : the box you see is a computer based thing, only made for the purpose of advertising the line : it is not the actual minifig, it is not a real box.
jindroush Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 If anybody is interested, I'm going by full disclosure policy here :P Masks are removable, minifigs are flesh toned.
sam89 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Any details on what minifigs we'll be getting? ;)
Vader Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Thats what interests me the most and also what version of batman are they doing ie. comic, animated or film?? God i hope we get a good rogues gallery for him and not just a bunch of robbers for him to chase....
Jipay Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 You will get what you requiered Vader, now we can't say much more about that
jindroush Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 You will get what you requiered Vader, now we can't say much more about that Oooh... dirty practices here... deleting the 'news'... FBTBism... :'(
thatblockoguy Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Removable masks means that it doesn't matter whether they're flesh toned or not, just replace the head w/ a yellow one. I just hope it's NOT movie related only. Lego has the movie Spidey rights, Megachblech...still can't say it, gotta work on that, has the Marvel Spidey rights...hope TLC didn't make the same mistake twice. Better to have the rights to do every aspect of the character like Mattel has with Batman. BTW, how big is Batman in Europe? In North America he's pretty hot and has been for 20+ years. I wonder if there's going to be 2 versions, like with the new Dino line?
languages Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 2 versions, like with the new Dino line? Bataman is the same anywhere....the uined the Dino line by not having guns..... I think this Lego line is based on the new comic series called @the batman@. Ill find some pics....
Vader Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I think that batman is probably just as big over here, we get all the cartoons and there on most days.
The Middleman Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Like I said before... expect to see Arkham Asylum, the Batmobile (maybe more than one... ), the Batwing, and the Batcave.Villains will include Joker, Two-Face, Catwoman, and possibly the Riddler. More are possible as well. So yes, Vader; you'll get plenty of villains. ;)
languages Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Ive found this guys: http://www2.warnerbros.com/thebatman/ It features most of the Batman villians and a rather sexy Batmobile.....enjoy!
