thatblockoguy Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 As thrilled as I am about this, until I see the actual product I'm still going to be just a wee bit cautious. I don't doubt that the image is legit, however proposed box art and a whole product line are two different things. Too many times have toy enthusiasts been disappointed after seeing an action figure presented at a trade show, only to find out months later that the fig will not be produced. Case in point: we never got either a Wonder Woman or Hawk Girl mini mate. I'm not trying to jinx this, Bat Lego would be a dream come true. I guess what I'm saying is that, from what I understood from his post, Jake said the box art was legit but nothing was said re: the actual line.
SuvieD Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 It cost the company many tens of thousands for license fees, new molds, artist, designers, set builders, and factory workers to make one series of sets. LEGO also produces set at least six months to a year before they are sold. It would be a huge financial lose for LEGO to dump the line. It will happen period. I heard a little extra about them and it is happening. Not only will LEGO make this line, I think based on the new dino and HP sets they will have plenty of parts and be at a good price. Look at the graveyard set or the dino humvee. Those sets are awesome and packed full of parts for a reasonable price. Now imagine the batmobile chasing down a crook or villan with 300 parts for $19.99. :oD Sweet thought huh? ;)
Jonathan_Markiewitz Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I like the thought about the Batmobile! What I would like to see is a line based on Tim Burton's "Batman" and "Batman Returns". _______________________________ The Batman LEGO Film, "Batman: Revenge" The Batman LEGO Gallery (Batmobiles, Batwing)

I just didn't know how far along they were. Anyone remember when the Star Wars sets were first announced? Some things just seem too good to be true.
Deinonychus Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Wow...I can dig it! *wub* From the look of the figure and packaging, it seems that LEGO got the licence to the Comic Batman...which I'm fairly certain the cartoon, comic, and movie are all handled seperatly...which is great because the potential for cool Minifigs and vehicles is limitless! Also, if this is only the comic licence, it'll give us Robin...because if it were the cartoon licence Robin would most probably be under the Teen Titans licence |-/
Vader Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 No please no robin!!! :-D if it is the comic version then we can look forward to alot of interesting sets
miktor Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 it looks very much like prototype i think it is
MattZitron Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 it looks very much like prototype i think it is ITS NOT A PROTOTYPE!!! Its a computer mock up made to promote the new line. People, we are not lying. JIpay would not risk the name of the site by saying a blatant lie.
languages Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Why will people not believe us...they wouldnt on FBTB either.... :(
Vader Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I know people on other sites are still saying "ill believe it when i see it" *wacko* Theres just no telling some people :|
Zane Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Hmph. It'd seem BZP members just can't accept things. I mean, over there, I'm an Outstanding BZP Citizen, and yet people still accuse me of it being fake! Pah! Is Eurobricks the only sane Lego forum left?
SuvieD Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 It's fake, all fake. I heard from my sister's friend's neighbor's mom's girlfriend's ex-husband's cousin's banker's doctor's lawyer that he knows someone in the company who said it is a fake. And I am going to believe him no matter what. ;) So, I'll believe it when I see it in the store only. :D ;)
Vader Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Wouldnt you like to just give all those people a slap!!!! >:(
SuvieD Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 No, it is the culture we live in. The media controls our thoughts. Everything from movies, tv and music all has messages and all to often people accept them blindly. Same with the internet. Look at all the LEGO sites that have a no leak policy. They make it sound like a criminal act if you even look at the "leaked" pictures. The young and impressionable believe it because they don't know any better and because they look up to the people who run the sites. Here it is different. People here don't have a million bricks each. They don't have some special agenda or need to be incharge so they can have a big ego. It is all about having a place for people to come and here news about LEGO then talk about it, have fun, show off new mocs, join a contest or a mystery, debate what the best LEGO is and make fun of the junk that isn't. We don't need to slap people. We need to let them know there is a better place to hang out on the internet. ;)
thatblockoguy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Yes, this does seem to be a better place. LUGNET scares me, everyone there seems so intense, lol. Anyway, back in June there was talk on the Art Asylum forum that TLC was looking for someone to do artwork for a Batman Lego line. Talk of this line had been around for a while, then it sorta fell off the radar. Guess they did the artwork. Nice when rumors and speculation turn into reality. Remember the guy who posted the Harry Potter mini fig on Brickshelf which turned out to be a very good (and as is turned out pretty accurate ) MOC.

SuvieD Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 We know that it is also based off the comics, and anything that has been Batman going 6 monthes or so back. That means to Tim Burton. It also means much more freedom and loads of options. :o
sam89 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 So LEGO will be allowed to release a Batman Begins Batmobile some day :oo
MattZitron Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 God someone on this Newsarama post has mental problems. He thinks its gonna be Jack Stone scale.
