Jern92 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Toyworld has all of them now. I'm still looking for the red dragon creator set, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere
Jern92 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 There's a fundraiser going on on TradeMe, with Lego as some of the items on sale. Do kindly check it out and grab yourself some Lego while helping a little girl eat and drink like a normal little girl. There is also a link to the fundraising page Givealittle on the auction pages. http://www.trademe.co.nz/toys-models/lego-building-toys/lego/sets/auction-845458125.htm (Town Hall) http://www.trademe.co.nz/toys-models/lego-building-toys/lego/sets/auction-845460605.htm (Fairground Mixer) http://www.trademe.co.nz/toys-models/lego-building-toys/lego/sets/auction-845462094.htm (Winter Village Market)
Legoman Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Man, did anyone see/grab any of the deals on the Warehouse Red alert site on Thursday? Quite gutted I missed a few of those, some really good deals! Would have loved a few of those Lion Temple sets (Which were 70% off!).

Legoman Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 Benny's Spaceship ran out. I'm heartbroken I didn't see this before T.T Man, I was referring to the sale a couple of days ago but the sale yesterday/this morning was/is even better. However half the sets were sold out by the time I got online. I really need to keep a closer eye of that site :)
HolmesA8 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Yeah was a crazy price for the Chima sets, I grabbed 70010 for $60 ($189rrp) and 70009 for $30 ($129rrp).
Alternator Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Seems Toy World are doing a buy 1 get 1 half price sale till end of Monday (27th Apr), could be worth a look if they have two sets that you're interested in at a similar price. In other news, sadly it seems IQToys parent company has been put into Liquidation (according to the IQToys website). I only got a few items from them, but I found them to be good and usually checked if they had the sets I was after.

Was at Toyworld sylvia Park yesterday but they ran out of road plates, except for one that had been torn open pretty badly from both ends and the plates were falling out, so me being me, I pushed them back in and tidied it up a bit. Considered buying it (I didn't want anything else), but the store manager absolutely refused to discount it, although the salesperson who assisted me wanted to, because she claimed that only the packaging was torn and the contents were OK (this was AFTER I had tidied it up). Note to self: Leave things as they are next time. If you do manage to get two of the same sets (or two with the same price), they'll effectively be 25% off. But if you don't manage, might be easier to wait for a proper 25% sale.

(actually I shouldn't say that, I've heard Sylvia Park Toy World is quite good regarding buying Lego there) If you do manage to get two of the same sets (or two with the same price), they'll effectively be 25% off. But if you don't manage, might be easier to wait for a proper 25% sale. I know what you mean, I had wanted to get some of the exclusive sets though, which tend to be a bit harder to get a big discount on. Unfortunately they only had one of the two sets I wanted in stock Then I found some stuff I wanted on MightyApe at an acceptable discount price so I picked some stuff up from them.
evil_elmo Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I was hoping to pickup a slave 1 and the detective office but they didn't have stock of the slave, abit of a shame since it would of worked out at 23% discount Mighty ape price on the Mini Cooper is pretty tempting but puts me off when I have to pay for shipping and would suck if the box came damaged

I got a Town Hall last year and the box was creased as if someone tried to fold it in half. I was hoping to pickup a slave 1 and the detective office but they didn't have stock of the slave, abit of a shame since it would of worked out at 23% discount Saw loads of both at the Hamilton Toyworld. Probably cost more to make the drive there and back though.

Last time i ordered lego online was from toyco and they had mint boxes Hamilton would of been abit of a drive.....i'm in christchurch

What really?! I called them yesterday and they said they had Slave I but no Detectives office (seems a lot of people had the same idea)... Well they lost the sale! I got Slave I from Mighty Ape with it's 13% discount; And I'll probably get Detectives office from Lego online or Toyco if they have a sale on it before May 4th (I'm presuming there will be a tempter to place an order on May 4th with Lego and I'll need a big set to kill the punitive postage charge) p.s. I've bought quite a few sets from Mighty Ape and haven't had an issue (I'll post how these ones turn up - I got the Cooper as well). Edited April 26, 2015 by Alternator
Bricktrain Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Toyco dont discount the Modulars or any limited releases, even some of the larger sets like the 42030 loader they dont discount.

In general they don't, but I know that on rare occasions they have had short sales on those sets; I grabbed the Parisian Restaurant from them at $240 (and the Volvo for $320) last year

It was the one time they had a sale that included exclusives And I'll probably get Detectives office from Lego online or Toyco if they have a sale on it before May 4th (I'm presuming there will be a tempter to place an order on May 4th with Lego and I'll need a big set to kill the punitive postage charge) I wish they had a lower free shipping threshold. The one time I bought something from Lego was last year when I got the Haunted House and Grand Emporium together to qualify for free shipping. Normally it's hard to justify paying full price for items if they're available and going at sale prices in NZ. However, I am greatly tempted by the Kwik-e-mart and the Ferris Wheel... Alternator Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 p.s. I've bought quite a few sets from Mighty Ape and haven't had an issue (I'll post how these ones turn up - I got the Cooper as well). Both sets showed up the other day in fine condition, no denting etc (nit-picky stuff is there was a little bit of scuffing for a few cm on the edge at the bottom of one of the boxes that isn't noticeable unless you go looking for it). Packing was in a large brown box, with air cushions on one side to keep the contents inside sitting snug.

Alternator Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 That's good news Any sales for May 4th? Lego shop is mentioning there will be something, but hasnt specified what yet - i'll be checking the Lego Website on the day, and probably the others such as Toyco and MightyApe
evil_elmo Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 lego shop has a pretty sad may the 4th deal, free poster and mini fig when you spend a certain amount...no discounts toyworld christchurch just posted on their facebook page 20% off all star wars lego no exceptions....i hope they finally got the slave in stock
evil_elmo Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 boo! still no slave at any toyworld in chch...missed out again on a sale the warehouse has some may the 4th deals with their red alert sale http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/redalert/tile-040515-lego
Alternator Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Toy World has a good sale on starting today till Sunday. Basically it's a coupon thing with: 20% and 25% off any one single item. 30% off 1 item under $100 50% off 1 item under $30. I took the opportunity to grab the Detectives Office (so it more or less worked out in the end). I got the coupons in a best buy pamphlet, but I think they're taking care of people in store as well (oh it looks like the 20% discount can be applied to an online purchase as well).

kiwishark Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Used the coupons at Toyworld Albany this afternoon. Called them around 11am, they had 5 Detective Offices. Was 3 on the shelf by the time I arrived. I got 1 and someone else had taken 1 by the time I left! No Slaves I saw, and a shortage of Superheroes (they fly off the shelves, according to the staff).
