Hey all you NZers out here on EB!

Sorry for my lack of participation this year..yeah it hasn't been good has it? But Ive still been keeping up with Lego, I think im going into the Dark Ages (frantically trys to scramble out of THAT hole  ) but yeah, I suppose it happens to all of us at some time, I'll try to keep posting on EB, send me a message if I go inactive for more than a week in future.

Anyways onto what this topic is actually about!

Warehouse have Plo's fighter for $40, looks like a nice price and im tempted to take it! The BPs are $17 each so thats a nice discount. Please tell me if $40 is a reasonable price for Plo's fighter.

Thanks

Welcome back CF. I think $40 is a good enough deal and will be getting one.

I think we'll just have to get used to Lego being expensive ... especially Star Wars. Looks like the price points will be $25, $55, $100, $150, $200 and $300 from now on. Also not sure what October will do the prices with GST going up so I suggest grabbing those discounted Lego this month.

As Ive only being collecting lego for a few years Im ok with the prices. Sure they're not $10 a set anymore but I think some of the prices are actually pretty reasonable when you think about it. Sure they may be remaking sets but they are so much better than the originals and the new sets have so many good pieces minifigs and features I think they are usually worth the price. But a 20% off sale never hurts

Yeah man I'm OK but it was pritty Intense! Pritty scary, but quite a fun experience too, In it's own right. My lego collection is a pile of rubble that will take me weeks to months to rebuild, but for now We need to focus of the more important things. We've only just recently got our power back which is nice, but fresh water is the big problem right now. Hope all you other CHCH folk are alright. I was quite lucky - our house is still intact!

When I get some free time later on I'll show you what a lego display-room looks like after a 7.1 earthquake... Pritty crazy

Better be off though, may update you all later

damn your lego collection is huge, that must really suck! Love to see a picture whenever you do have time but please dont fell obligated to do so I know there's bigger worries. Seeing the pictures on the news there are some pretty huge fissures in the roads which look pretty cool.

Glad to hear you're all right Legoman, I hope everyone else down that way is doing fine too. Just looking at all the images on the news makes me consider how totally unprepared my house is; not just the Lego, but the crockery sitting on open shelves, the bookshelves free-standing etc... would not be good.

Yeah our house too, my mum worrying a bit I think. I have 5 really heavy shelves full of lego hanging over my bed just sitting on supports. Im sure they will be bolted down fairly soon.

I'd also just like to add a big 'take care' to our Chch friends - Us Wellingtonians often get smaller quakes, but nothing compared to what happened this morning. So take care guys, and be safe:)

Good to hear your okay LegoMan! I was thinking about you and all you other CHCH people all today. Not so good to hear about the lego, gutted! That'll takes ages to ye order-make-tidy up, good luck!

On a side note: Bought my Plo's fighter today and love the set, a great buy and for only $40! I modified the tip-nose and will post some pics in the SW forum tonight or tomorrow. Didn't see any Banes speeders which I had hoped to pick one up. Palpi's shutte's where at Kmart and Warehouse both selling them for about $130. All the other sets where there aswell, except CTT. :hmpf_bad: I noticed that warehouse are selling the Midi star-destroyer for $20 less then Kmart, but even at $80 it still is a rip off, I saw a MISB one on TM afew days ago and it sold for $30! :oh3:

Minifigures series 2 are at the Warehouse!

I gave the Albany and Milford branches a call and they both have them. Shot into Milford at lunch and picked up a set... plus 1 more mexican and spartan...OK 3 mexicans all told....and an extra karate guy and skier.

1 and a half boxes there-pretty much ended up going through the lot to get the set. Lifeguard and pop singer were the most scarce- I'm pretty sure I got the last of both there.

Go get 'em people!

Cool! Though Im not sure if I want a whole set like the first set because they are pretty crappy quality imo, though not as bad as it has been. I need to save up for other things as well which is annoying cause its all so nice!

Are they still the same price as the first series?

$4.99 each in Milford Warehouse.

I had actually called the Brown's Bay Toyworld and they didn't have them today but they had suggested in past calls they might be asking a little more than that-though I would be surprised if they don't match the Warehouse prices.

I had some Warehouse vouchers, luckily. Total cost for my haul was $4.

I used to be strongly against them because of the quality issues, but have since given up. I've never had a misprinted one, and the pieces are unlikely to get mixed up with my regular Lego. The cheap plastic is forgiven by how adorable they are.

I can't wait to get my ones. Then I can stop feeling like a Weirdo, going into Toyworld and asking if the new minifigs are there... I'm sure that's not normal behaviour for an adult... :sceptic:

Toyworld Wellington put them out today about 2pm. They also have a cheat sheet. I have some sailing across the Cook Strait to me right now. Will have them in Blenheim tonight :classic:

cool, I think I might try and get afew of the figs, they all look so good!!

Thanks for the heads up kiwishark!

@AllanSmith, do you mean by 'cheat sheet' the pic Legoman posted with the barcodes for the season 2 figs?

Edit:

Has anyone bought anything off Sella before? Would you recommend it?

Ive been looking occasionally at the lego on there, and someone is selling a bunch of different parts like 50 light blue tiles and so one, check it out Here
