RileyC Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I would say middle of January cause that's when the other sets come out. But that doesnt mean its all bad. Having getting the sets later means that others would have already done stunning reviews to show you what its like. Which is kinda nice

Legoman Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Well I just got home last night. Ended up caving in and buying a Tie Defender out at toyworld Coastlands ($40 is too good - I'll probably use the parts to start converting my other ties to grey ). I'd never been there before but It's a great place - very good selection for such a small store, and great staff too - they seemed to be quite into their lego there

You guys seem to have the good TW's down in Welli and CHCH...envious. The Defender is very tempting, might have to get it. Anyone know if the voucher works with it, so you get 20% off from $40? CF

Though it would only bring it down to $32, but that's still better than $40 Damn you Legoman! Edited December 7, 2010 by Roncanator
Legoman Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Well there's still no harm in trying And CF, there'll be some good lego shops round your area too, you just need to go find them Edited December 7, 2010 by Legoman

Though it would only bring it down to $32, but that's still better than $40 Damn you Legoman! Anything cheaper, and it's better. Well there's still no harm in trying And CF, there's be some good lego shops round your area too, you just need to go find them I'll see if I can. Hmm, will have to try over the summer. CF
RileyC Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 And CF, there'll be some good lego shops round your area too, you just need to go find them I agree. There will always be good places, whether it be because of price or selection. K-mart was brilliant for a year in Hamilton. Great price and all the sets in the lines. Then they just stopped the prices and I would go to other places. Toyworld is always a good place. Always gets the sets and most of the exclusives. But they are always at RRP. Though I know they have a lone Twilight tucked away, still at RRP. Im waiting for its price to be slashed. The Warehouses in Hamilton arent very good for SW lego. Town is alright and they always have plenty of stock of collectable minifigs. Farmers has a lot of older sets, lots of Echo Bases and lots of X wings still. I find it good if you missed a set that nowhere else has. But those are just the major stores. There are a few little toystores that can get sets. But this is all in Hamilton, stock does vary store to store!
Legoman Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 If anyone here is keen on a couple of old (the original ones - old-gray) Tie fighters, let me know. I'm wanting to buy more newer ones instead of having a mix of grey and bley

If anyone here is keen on a couple of old (the original ones - old-gray) Tie fighters, let me know. I'm wanting to buy more newer ones instead of having a mix of grey and bley Im fine thanks. Speaking of finding good places to buy lego, I just saw afew signs on the way to a lesson, saying "importers toy sale!" I might check it out and hopefully there will be some lego there! CF

They only have LEGO imitators. Cheers Nick

CF Yes, Very BUT I have no money. harmacy Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Hey all - One of my old school friends who works for the Kapi-Mana newspaper (Kapiti / Porirua / wellington) is writing a feature article for the paper on Adult Lego Fans - and is basically looking for a couple of other Lego-minded folk from the region, who'd be happy to talk to about our Lego passion and have some interesting things to say, and cool stuff to document. If you are based in the lower North Island and would be keen to be interviewed, please let me know so I can get the paper to contact you. (FYI - Im being interviewed next Tuesday) Cheers:)

Legoman Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 Harmacy you have a pm ...Oh no you didn't!
RileyC Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 ...Oh no you didn't! Nice sets Legoman even if Im not interested in sets that old, they just dont fit in with my much newer sets. Are they multiples of sets you have?
Legoman Posted December 9, 2010 Author Posted December 9, 2010 Nice sets Legoman even if Im not interested in sets that old, they just dont fit in with my much newer sets. Are they multiples of sets you have? I totally agree. Thats why I'm selling them (well, most of them - Some classic's I'll never sell). I only have 1 of each of the majority of the original sets, but I don't piticularly think I'll miss them much I'm mainly selling beacuse A) I need money for newer big expencive sets (the 2 new UCS - and Harmacy's 10019 if I can snab it) and B) They're just taking up space which is becoming quite a hassle
evil_elmo Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 ...Oh no you didn't! just waiting for his reply...hahaha someone has bidded already....i can see a bidding war in the future
RileyC Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Oh hey what happened to all your lego after the earthquake? I know we saw the original damage but did you manage to get all of it cleaned up in good time?
