harmacy Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Edit: Just looking at Gelo's store, is it a good idea to contact the store your looking at to make sure they have the item's in stock before ordering or can you go off of what it is showing ? The quantities showing should be pretty accurate, and if they are not (for whatever reason), the seller should let you know. Ive dealt with Gelo several times, and she has been fantastic. When one of her quantities was wrong, I got refunded, plus a few little bonus pieces. So yeah - great service:) Postage from NZ sellers usually just takes a few days, but Ive waited up to a month for some orders from overseas:( And btw, welcome to EB - we try and keep up to date on sales etc, and let every one know if we see a bargain.
Bricktrain Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 For starters one of the shops I'm looking to buy my first lot of bits from is in Germany of all places, I already have an account with BL and also one for Paypal (ebay buying). The store I'm looking into is quite big and has great feedback, is this going to be like TradeMe and you can pretty much go off of the feedback to see how a seller is going to be ? Has anyone Bought from over sea's and can comment on the packaging and postage times they have experienced ect ? My first order is only going to be about $40 all up depending on what the postage is going to change to. I think our currency exchange at the moment is quite good for buying oversea's too. Edit: Just looking at Gelo's store, is it a good idea to contact the store your looking at to make sure they have the item's in stock before ordering or can you go off of what it is showing ? The stock showing in the store should be the correct inventory, though occasionally mistakes happen but then the seller should let you know when they send you the invoice, and have credited the order, or submitted a cancellation for that part. Many sellers if they do have a piece missing from an order will ask if you want to complete the order or cancel entirely, as that piece may have been the only reason you were buying from them. I have recently bought from Germany and the shipping (post) is usually just over a week. The time for a seller to pack and ship will vary, but usually is less than a week, a lot of sellers will ship the same day you pay. Feedback is a reasonable indication of a seller, so it is good to check their recent feedbacks, also check store terms pages, if you think you are unsure or dislike the terms look at another store or ask the seller to explain.

HyperBlade Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Does anyone know where you can get the Technic Excavator (8043) in Christchurch?
Bricktrain Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Does anyone know where you can get the Technic Excavator (8043) in Christchurch? When I called Lego about it late last year, they said due to the recall it was due for rerelease later this year, I dont know if it has been yet or not. It is on the Lego website, and cheaper than it was.

It is on the Lego website, and cheaper than it was. Thanks, was hoping i could save on shipping, $80 is a bit steep. Seems no one can get it, which is a bit weird for a flagship. If anyone else wants to bring one in drop me a pm, and we could split shipping costs.
Grrr Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Has anyone seen 8069 in stores yet. I'm in Aus at the moment and it's a neat set - but I'll only take it back with me if it's not in store in NZ yet...
Trainee Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Our local Warehouse flyer just came today (why rural get it on Tuesday and we get it on Wednesday is wierd) anyway, the City Police Station 7498 is $139.99 (save $50) Atlantis has 25% off and Hero Factory is any 2 for $30 (save upto $21.98) It shows 2 of the rounded containers, stormer and bug I think they are.

nzkiwiman Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Warehouse online have added the April items to the listings of Lego items available online. As of posting, they are all available (in stock) but with no picture. LEGO® NINJAGO 2170 Cole DX 2171 Zane DX 2172 Nya 2173 Nuckal LEGO® CITY 3365 Space Moon Buggy 3366 Satellite Launch Pad 3367 Space Shuttle 3368 Space Center LEGO® TECHNIC 8065 Mini Container Truck 8066 Off-Roader 8067 Mini Mobile Crane 8068 Rescue Helicopter 8069 Backhoe Loader
nk4002r Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Due in stores in April for $NZ 119.99 I've seen those in Toy World this weekend for the price quoted. They also had the new smaller Technic sets, dump truck and mini mobile crane and mini off-roader. The Warehouse also had the small Technic sets, but not the Backhoe. The Mini Mobile Crane has the same sized box as the Star Wars Gungan battle and both sell for $50, which felt a little high for the mini crane, but maybe that is just me... I thought that Star Wars are especially expensive due to the licensing and the technic set does not have any figures - but then again it might just be that the Gungan battle is really attractively priced.
nzkiwiman Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Both Dunedin Warehouses had LEGO® NINJAGO 2170 Cole DX 2171 Zane DX 2172 Nya 2173 Nuckal LEGO® CITY 3365 Space Moon Buggy 3366 Satellite Launch Pad While the larger one in South Dunedin also had LEGO® CITY 3368 Space Center LEGO® TECHNIC 8065 Mini Container Truck 8066 Off-Roader 8067 Mini Mobile Crane 8068 Rescue Helicopter Kmart Dunedin also had some good clearances on - I can mostly remeber the Star Wars stuff. Set numbers escape me though Last Years Battle Packs $12 Wampa/Hoth Cave $49 Slave 1 $129 General G Starfighter $89 Midi Star Destroyer $20 (seems a bargin, the one I have at home came from a Warehouse sale and they wanted $84 regular price)

Plus a few Midi SD's for parts
RileyC Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 That's fantastic! Must go down to the warehouse and see if I can pick up a bargain! Thanks for the tip!
Legoman Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 The clearances are at K-mart, not the Warehouse

Im definitely going to try and get some BPs at my Kmart for that price, just hope its not the Dunedin one clearing stock. Hopefully all Kmart's are doing it! CF
Trainee Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Just remembered something interesting looking at this years Crisco catalogue. They have a number of Lego sets in. This could be helpful to those that cant fork out a lot of money in one go and don't mind waiting, they have: Large pink brick box & building plate 5560 for $2.25 per week 40 weeks total = $90 Large blue brick box & building plate 6166 for $2.25 per week 40 weeks total = $90 Creator Sonic Boom 5892 for $3.00 per week 40 weeks total = $120 City Fire Station 7208 for $4.50 per week 40 weeks total = $180 City Police MC 7235 + Police Helicopter 7741 + off road Fire truck & Fireboat 7213 for $3.00 per week 40 weeks total = $120 City truck 3221 + repair truck 3179 + seaplane 3178 for $2.75 per week 40 weeks = $110 City Airport 3182 for $4.75 per week 40 weeks total = $190 City Passenger train 7938 for $6.75 per week 40 weeks total = $270 I have my eye on the train set for christmas unless money comes available soonish. Hope this gives some more ideas.
Fatteh Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 If - as I suspect - the Warehouse uses a national pricing system, then the 8087 TIE Defender will be back down to $29 at your local today, if they have any left. I was thinking about getting another to build a different TIE with, but the number of shared parts between 8087 and the TIE fighter or interceptor is actually quite low. Still, two figs and 300-odd pieces for less than 30 bucks is pretty tempting...
Legoman Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Just been to K-mart Riccarton. Can confirm those prices. Plus the ARC-170 was about $70 and the Palpitines shuttle was $90. Not too shabby. Unfortunately they were out of Imperial BP's, But I picked up a few Rebels, A few Star Destroyers and a Couple of Wampa caves Still some of each there for our fellow CHCH Members But you might want to hurry Considering going back for a couple of ARC's and more Wampa's. You can never have enough Snowspeeders I know it's a long shot, but I'm actully hoping the Wampa caves go down even further. At $30 I'd buy them out quite happily
harmacy Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Wow! Im definitely going to try and get some BPs at my Kmart for that price, just hope its not the Dunedin one clearing stock. Hopefully all Kmart's are doing it! CF Just picked up 3 Star Destroyers from Kmart Bayfair (Tauranga). They were all out of BP's, and other specials were dwindling fast. Thanks so much for the heads up NZKiwiman!!! Also (off topic) just had a play on a Nintendo 3DS - all I can say is WOW!!!!
Bricktrain Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Has anyone seen 8069 in stores yet. I'm in Aus at the moment and it's a neat set - but I'll only take it back with me if it's not in store in NZ yet... toyplanet also had it online this week.
RileyC Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 The clearances are at K-mart, not the Warehouse Woops! Thanks for that Legoman. Also (off topic) just had a play on a Nintendo 3DS - all I can say is WOW!!!! I have to go in and have a look! Im sort of on the fence as to whether I should upgrade my original DS (the phat). However none of the launch titles really appeal to me that much. So I may hold out for a while. At least not buying it gives me more lego money.
Bricktrain Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Thanks, was hoping i could save on shipping, $80 is a bit steep. Seems no one can get it, which is a bit weird for a flagship. If anyone else wants to bring one in drop me a pm, and we could split shipping costs. it wont be available again till later in the year for stores so if you can wait a while it should turn up. I ended up building both models from my parts, I only needed to spend about $20 on bricklink to finish them both, though it means I dont have the new modified linear actuators.
Legoman Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Guys, K-mart has got 50% off all Lego, and 75% off clearances this week! That makes BP's $3, Midi SD's $5, and Wampa Caves $12.50 Plus Battle of Naboo is $25 and so on Check it out!
