Legoman Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 Welcome on board pinkshiro! 10212 Retails for $500, but Toyworld will probably be selling it for $550 (depending on your local toyworld, some are nicer) I'm personally hoping Kmart will bring them in and end up selling them dirt cheap again.. Ah, I miss the days of 10195's for $180 If they do, they'll probably have it for around $450 That'll be Legoman. just joking. It only sold for $500 We've all got to keep the addiction alive somehow Maybe a fan built online store with the best prices in NZ, 'New Zealand EB guild lego store', that would be so cool! I Have actully looked into such things However, Ever since Lego got rid of their middleman and took up their own distribution, they now only keep contracts with companys that have B&M stores, so it would be quite tricky unfortunately. But with the way Lego is going at the moment, we may end up with stores in NZ within a few years

kiwishark Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Hi All Just in Farmers Takapuna today and they had Pirates of the Caribbean sets on the shelf. 4182 The Cannibal Escape $70 4183 The Mill $90 4191 Captain’s Cabin $20 4192 Fountain Of Youth $50 4194 Whitecap Bay $170 No 4181 Isla de la Muerta, 4193 London Escape or 4195 Queen Anne’s Revenge. There was a 20% off sale on those prices but they are still are a bit steep for me.

jonwil Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Wow, even the New Zealanders get better prices than us Aussies :( (20nzd for the captains cabin = 14aud, the set has an AU RRP of 25aud) As for the 3 missing sets, I think some of the POTC sets have a street date related to the release of POTC4 in theaters (or so some .au retailers have said)
nk4002r Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 S@H means 'Lego Shop at Home', which is Lego's online store at http://shop.lego.com. They have the 10212 set available now, but it will cost you around $499 + $80NZD for postage. Yeouch!. However, Lego sometimes has free shipping offers, so it pays to subscribe to their mailing list to keep informed. I got an email a few days back about a Special Star Wars lego announcement on the 3rd of May, so keep an eye out! First of all: it is 3rd of May already and no updates on the website - just a teaser. Are they going off US Central time ?? Also, may I add that the $80 shipping is not that outrageous considering that they use Fedex/DHL type tracked, signed for service. I'd challenge you to walk into any post office in the US/EU and get a better postage (they ship from Netherlands/Holland, right ?). You won't. Well at least not for big sets as mentioned, it is not fair that you'd have to pay the same shipping if you only bough a keyring... But my biggest pet peeve is the pricing. I know, the exchange rate went up in the last week or so, but it is a US web site, why shouldn't we get the same pricing ? For example, I quite like the Public Transport set. At $100 USD it seems a little steep, but it is a very nice bus and I like the tram too. That would be $124 NZD. Instead, it is $200. TW has it for $189, so it is just too much even, if they have a 20% off sale for everything... Star Wars is even worse, I was surprised to see the Battle for Endor for $100 USD, it was $250 here and I actually paid $200 - but that was well worth it. Still, Amazon recently had it even cheaper. But all right, those are older sets and the pricing may have been set at a time, when the exchange rate was almost 1 to 2. How about the 8070 Super car, $120USD vs 250NZ and it just came out? The $100 NZD difference would cover shipping. The bottom line is, I'll probably sit this one out, even if they give free shipping and a bonus free White Boba Fett with every order... Sorry, if I am stating the obvious as this has been discussed before, I am just disappointed. Probably also because I forgot to bid on the Batman figure on TM today, went for $26, not bad at all. Better go to sleep now.

evil_elmo Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 hi all, i havent posted in awhile but here is my take on getting a 10212 i have looked into getting one out of the US since our dollar is very strong against them at the moment i looked into brinklink/ebay and the cheaper sets about the $250US mark has very damaged box plus you need to send it which is from $80-100US which is about $440NZ one with a good condition box is about $280US + $100US shipping is about $480NZ at the moment i think the best bet is to wait for them to hit the shelf so you can choose the one with the best box p.s i have seen this set when i was in hk a few weeks back and the box is HUGE
CommanderFox Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Its Up Guys!!! Free shipping, Free Poster (of all the UCS's so far!) Also if you spend NZD $110 you get an Exclusive Star Wars Shadow ARF trooper! If anyone's going to do an order of $110, and doesn't want the trooper, i'll gladly take it off you but be reasonable with your asking price. CF
CommanderFox Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 order placed....let the waiting game begin Just interisted, will you be wanting the shadow trooper? Off topic, Hope all you fellow aucklanders are okay, i missed the tornado by about 10 mins, but from the vids on youtube and the news it looks pretty bad, hopefully no casualties! Edit: I weakened and bought another Maersk train set and the Winter Village Bakery. This free shipping has cost me $NZ 700 Edited May 4, 2011 by AllanSmith
harmacy Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 This free shipping has cost me $NZ 700 The free postage does mean we can get some of those lovely exclusives without paying extra for shipping or ordering through BL. Did anyone get anything that is normally available in NZ shops? And Allan - are you sure 3 trains is enough for you?? I must say I am disappointed

Grrr Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Shell is rebranding to "Z Energy". They so should have bought the rights to the Octan brand instead...
