epic_red Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 So what did everyone manage to pick up at the toy world sale? I was busy all weekend and couldn't get in but I'm not that worried about it. I bought the paddy wagon which was usually $35, but the lady behind the counter put the 50% off voucher on it. I'm wondering if she would have done the same with a bigger set eg the Space Shuttle.....
CommanderFox Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Seriously i was surprised at how high your auction went harmacy! And yours VMLN8R doesn't look that far off aswell, if these are released on S@H im so doing an order and selling them on TM CF
AllanSmith Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) So what did everyone manage to pick up at the toy world sale? I was busy all weekend and couldn't get in but I'm not that worried about it. Went to one Toyworld in the Wellington region, and my partner and I picked up a large grey baseplate each at 50% off plus 2 blue baseplates each at the other discounts. Went to another Toyworld and picked up a grey base plate each and 3 blue ones each. Farmers had 20% off toys and 20% off purple peg discounted toys today. So at Farmers in Napier I picked up 4 7591 Construct-a-Zurg sets at $16 each. Edited May 26, 2011 by AllanSmith
CommanderFox Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Warehouse is having a little sale, 20% off Star Wars Lego. CF

Legoman Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 Did everyone see the Lego Christchurch Cathedral on the news last night? Quite pathetic really, But I guess it's cool seeing Lego on the news Mine is nearly finished, I placed my (hopefully) last brinklink order for roof parts on Saturday
harmacy Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Did everyone see the Lego Christchurch Cathedral on the news last night? Quite pathetic really, But I guess it's cool seeing Lego on the news Mine is nearly finished, I placed my (hopefully) last brinklink order for roof parts on Saturday Hahaha - I know what you mean - The fact they were calling them 'Lego's' and 'Blocks' made me want to throw something at the telly! As far as the building itself goes, its not that difficult to build a 2 or 3 metre tall multicoloured cathedral with a certain degree of accuracy - you dont need a bunch of Architecture students to do that. What would really be cool, is to see a smaller model done with more innovative use of parts. I guess we fans are just used to seeing some amazing pieces of work that dont need to use 6000 bricks to look convincing! Theres a post on TBB at the moment which is quite apt - LINK, which is what Id imagine the cathedral to look like if it wasnt touched, and nature was allowed to grow over the ruins. And Legoman - Cant wait to see your rendition - make sure you post it online for us all to drool over!
RileyC Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Did everyone see the Lego Christchurch Cathedral on the news last night? Quite pathetic really, But I guess it's cool seeing Lego on the news The first thing I thought of when I was it was, I bet Legoman's version is better. But I agree with all your points Harmacy, you think being architects they would want it to look good and not look like a multi-coloured hunk of bricks. I noticed at the warehouse they have the Republic Swamp Speeder for $59. I haven't seen it in a while so if you haven't managed to pick it up I would. It's a nice little set with good minifigs.

It's a nice little set with good minifigs. Now going for $50. And if you're in need of a few bley bits and pieces, the midi ISD is only $40 for the next week. Less than 10c/pc for Star Wars lego. Is that some kind of record? Sales don't count I guess.
Fatteh Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 NZ prices are up on S@H for the new Star Wars sets: Ewok attack $60 Sith infiltrator $150 Podracers $180 Millenium falcon $300 Sith nightspeeder $60 Geonosian starfighter $80 Republic frigate $250 Is the Battle for Geonosis available anywhere yet? Kmart perchance?

And yes the Battle of Geonosis is at KMart.

Yeah, $60 is alittle steep, but hopfully we can get some nice Farmers sales again like in Jan. I haven't seen it since Feb in my local Kmart. CF
RileyC Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) Hmm, I think i'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 of these. Yeah me too. I'm not going to buy the CW sets for this wave. I'm not very excited for them but I think that we won't see remakes for sets like the infiltrator the pod racers again so picking them up is a must for me. Edited June 1, 2011 by Roncanator
Fatteh Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Yaar. Infiltrator is the only definite for me. Maybe the frigate. As a mid-30s recent returnee to lego I thought I'd be all over a new Falcon set, but that sloppy front end damn near kills it. I take it the Battle for Geonosis has been out for a while then? No Kmart in my backwater.
CommanderFox Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) I take it the Battle for Geonosis has been out for a while then? No Kmart in my backwater. Yeah its been out since Feb. Does anyone know if we will be getting the Diagon Alley set in the annual Kmart sale in August? CF Edited June 2, 2011 by CommanderFox
k_r_brown Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Anyone heard of any good toy sales this long weekend?
