Congrats to the winner of the nationwide TW Lego comp.... LINKY

Legoland California is a blast! - Wish I was going again :cry_sad:

 She SO didn't build that. And the fact that her dad is an AFOL makes me wonder how much 'help' she really had. Haha, good on her though, It is definately a nice MOC none the less

I'll have to agree with Legoman on that, not a chance she made the whole thing, i think a 'joint effort' with her dad would be more truthful. Lucky girl.

Was anyone on here a store winner? I didn't manage to enter, but maybe next year. :sweet:

Anyone want anything from Chromebricks on BL? Apparently my boy will be getting some SW royal guards for his birthday and they had more than a thousand last time I checked. Should be enough.

PM me if interested in combining orders. I'll forward the goods when they arrive. I don't have any experience trading here, but can offer my TM feedback as peace of mind. Also, I am assuming that there is a worthwhile saving to be made by doing this, but maybe not for small quantities.

I place a fair few bricklink orders, but have never 'combined' with anyone. I used to be quite a fan of the idea, but it can be quite a hassle, Especially when you both want the same part. When buying parts and such, Postage tends to be based more on weight, so sharing an order doesn't really save much money (Unlike importing sets-that can be well worth it). However, You may find some people keen because they are not able to use paypal etc. Good luck! :classic:

On another note, I got the Lego mag today. Nothing very intresting, so don't get your hopes up

Cheers legoman. In light of that, I'll revise my offer:

If, like me, anyone would like a minifig or three from Chromebricks - or a small number of pieces - PM me. I'll probably be ordering at the end of next week and will forward free of charge to an NZ address anything that can fit in an envelope . Contributions to the shipping and transactions charges welcome, but not at all expected because I'll be paying them anyway.

Same. Is there some priveledged industry source for such quantities of figures and parts? Particularly those they stock which are still attached to the molding frame? It's odd.

Checked S@H to see if the UK and US free shipping deal applied to NZ as well. It doesn't, but you do get a free police motorcycle with orders over a hundie or so.

I also noticed that the Battle of Endor is currently available for $200. Has that always been there? And was that the original NZ RRP? Pity that the shipping charge puts it into TM price range.

I think its just recently become available again and also its RRP was $250 at my TW.

Yes, interesting, they did this with the 6212 X-wing and now the battle of endor. Obviously milking all the cash they can get from these sets.

Has anyone noticed the 3 harry potter sets are up with the others on S@H! Forbidden Forest is $30. Knight Bus is $70. Battle for Hogwarts is $120.

As a recent returnee, it's a good thing that TLG sees fit to extend the shelf life of at least a couple of classic midrange SW sets. It's a panaceea to the maddeningly rapid rumour, reveal, mob, and surrender to discounts and auctioning that goes on with the majority of them. I wouldn't complain about another cow or two in the easy money paddock.

Saw the following sets at Warehouse Mosgiel, pretty sure they are new

7956 Ewok™ Attack

7957 Dathomir Speeder™

Both $60

and 4842 Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle $270

Also seems to be a restock on the City Fire Value Pack, it sold out in Jan/Feb this year and is now back in force.

and clearence sale on the Midi Scale Mil Falcon - is this a good set?

Depends if you like the idea of midi-scale really. Not a whole lot of model at RRP, but it's a nice design. Not that I have one. Ha.

How much is it going for?

I saw the Star Destroyer on sale at the warehouse a couple of weeks ago for $40, its back up to $89 now though.

Did anyone see the SW thing on close up? I was thinking, how awesome is that?! Jealous of you CHCH guys who get to see it all at the armageddon expo in CHCH!

On another note: I was in Farmers the other day and saw that afew of there POTC sets are reduced by 20%, not sure exactly what the prices where, but the $70 set was $56 and there was 1 or 2 others also reduced, was kinda tempted. They have there red dot sale on (again) and everything is 10%-50% off so lego must be 20% off.

Toyworld Dunedin had some new Star Wars in

7965 Mil Falcon $300

7964 Republic Frigate $250

$250 seems okay for the frigate, do you know if either of the two are exclusives to TW?

While I was stocktaking the Warehouse Northlands (CHCH) I had a quick check of the Lego section, And they had some new Star Wars. All I could see from my peek was the new Endor set ($60! Thats wayyy too steep for that much lego IMO.. It'll have to go half price for me to buy the 3 I'm wanting to) And the new Geonosian Fighter thing, Which I think was $80, But I'm not certain on that. I'll see if I can have a better look tonight (More stocktakeing - Woohoo.. :sceptic::laugh: )

Haven't posted much in the last few days - Just got back from a confrence in Auckland. Wish I'd had time to spare there, but Unfortunately didn't

Toyworld at Homebase on Marshlands Rd had some new SW lego in there last week. The Republic Frigate looks sweet!

Also Armageddon is on today, I'm not going but are they selling lego there?

Yeah its quite a lot for what it really is. Should go along to the stores up here and have a look if they have any news sets. Kind of been way too busy for Lego though. Hopefully that changes soon :classic:
