On that note - check this one out..... LINK. Ive informed the seller about date/age error and the fact that these are new and complete with helmet, head and air-tank on BL from $17.

Just be carefull with the customs bill!!!! Mind you, and I've said it before, but the 10212 is prob my favourite UCS ever!!!, so just make sure you get it!

Im going to be bricklinking a bit over the next month, so will reap some NZD goodness! My parents are also in the States at the moment, so they've bought me fallingwater and some random keychains and other legoey goodness.

I've looked into customs quite a bit. It should only come into effect when GST will total over $60 ($500 total product+postage).. but then they'll add $37.50ish on top of GST.. So it's best to try keep it under $500NZ when importing

Still not sure why I wasn't pinged for a $1600 lot a few years ago.. Just lucky I guess :sweet:

The NZ Custom's website is down for me at the moment, but my understanding is that they waive GST and all other fees if the duty on the items + GST (as you say on the total product cost plus postage) are less than $60 - so the threshold is $400 (not $500).

I've just bought a camera (which, like toys incurs no duty) off Amazon and the GST on the camera plus shipping was $52.50, and I confirmed with Customs that they'll be no charges beyond this.

Whoops :sceptic: Terrible maths there

That would be right. Though there no duty on toys, thankfully

Gosh I couldn't help but laugh at how wrong this was, I'll say it again people should really be more accurate with their auctions lol.

Saw Hoth Echo Base 7879 in Farmers Takapuna today. 4-5 boxes at $180 a pop.

I didn't think this set would be that much, it's like the swamp speeder last year, not advertised much and alittle higher priced than what you'd think. Still its a nice set with the red protocol droid fig.

Warewhare clearance specials if you can find them:

8095 General Grievous' Starfighter $90

8085 Freeco Speeder $30

Quite possible that any other SW sets which have dropped off their website are similarly reduced.

Also noticed that Barnes & Noble in the US had specials on SW stuff. The 7961 Sith Infiltrator would be about NZD$90 landed.

I was actually about to post about B&N yesterday, you can get some VERY good deals at the moment through them. Use the code: D4J7V3X for 30% off almost any single (Only set I've found not to work is the Biggest HP set) Lego set. Their postage prices are very reasonable too. The 2 sets I looked into getting (havent yet though) were The Sith Infiltrator for $73 or the Big PQ Pyramid for $97 (Both those prices include postage). Absolute bargians if you're wanting them. I'm personally really hoping they put the Podrace set online.. I'd pick that up very quick.. Still havent seen it cheap enough locally yet

Thanks for the heads up about those clearances  Though I haven't seen either of those in a while.

Just having a look through TM, and it looks like a collector is getting rid of their whole collection. A few bargains here too....

Is this anyone here by chance?

Wow.. thats a decent collection. A couple of things that intrest me.. But doubt I'll bite. Definately appears to be a collector selling out..

Must admit, I'm planning something somewhat similar when I get enough free time. Though It won't be anywhere near that much, Just some stuff I don't have much use for

Hitting buy now isn't very difficult. It's not hitting buy now that I'm struggling with.

I hovered my mouse over the buy now button on one of them for a while, then asked myself do I need this in my collection? ..........the answer was no lol :cry_sad:

W-House in Johnsonville has technic 8042 on reduce to clear for $29.00. I can't remember the cents but it was under $30. They have around 8-9 when I was there today.

Dang it I was about to post that.

I also noticed this person, not as much range in the sets, mostly 2005 ones. Still excellent prices!

Some very tempting sales on tm, why is it they always seem to come in big chunks, then nothing for awhile.

18 years until clearance? That's some shelf life. Old is the Pneu matic.

I find it surprising how little of that collection on TM has moved given how low some of the buy nows are.

I thought the same thing but a few of the items have gone, especially today.

This is from one of the auctions mentioned earlier.

Including the AT-AT and Bane's speeder which were very tempting. Oh well. I got a mint AT-TE recently for my bday so shouldn't complain [sorry Legoman - that one was top of the list].

Checking Lego.com, and the NZ pricing for the Super Star Destroyer is up LINK

Everyone who is going to be importing a US one put your hand up :hmpf_bad:

Lets see. $399USD is currently worth around $480NZD. Postage, at a guess, would be around $100USD give or take a few dollars. So the total is now $595NZD. If Customs get a hold of it, and charge you their import taxes etc, you'll be looking at an extra $140NZD ish.

The total now sits at around $740NZD including postage. Hmmmmm - Is it worth a saving of around $130 for the hassle of buying through BL? Especially if you hold off till May and take advantage of the free postage MTFBWY promotion?

Keeping in mind, my postage costs are a guess, based on some of the bigger sets Ive imported over the past few months, plus the exchange rate is all over the place at the moment, so it seems that Lego.com may not be hugely over expensive in this case.

Ill do proper calculations and quotes once they pop up on BL. Maybe even find a seller who will split the postage up into several different boxes to avoid import taxes - could make a nice difference.

Still - im excited about this set - its been a while since we had a massive UCS set

We need to recruit a frequent flying NZer who does business in the States. First class baggage priviledges, love of Lego and major altruistic streak required.
