CommanderFox Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Checking Lego.com, and the NZ pricing for the Super Star Destroyer is up LINK Everyone who is going to be importing a US one put your hand up Lets see. $399USD is currently worth around $480NZD. Postage, at a guess, would be around $100USD give or take a few dollars. So the total is now $595NZD. If Customs get a hold of it, and charge you their import taxes etc, you'll be looking at an extra $140NZD ish. The total now sits at around $740NZD including postage. Hmmmmm - Is it worth a saving of around $130 for the hassle of buying through BL? Especially if you hold off till May and take advantage of the free postage MTFBWY promotion? Keeping in mind, my postage costs are a guess, based on some of the bigger sets Ive imported over the past few months, plus the exchange rate is all over the place at the moment, so it seems that Lego.com may not be hugely over expensive in this case. Ill do proper calculations and quotes once they pop up on BL. Maybe even find a seller who will split the postage up into several different boxes to avoid import taxes - could make a nice difference. Still - im excited about this set - its been a while since we had a massive UCS set A lovely set, but i just don't have that money. $480 seems good. I think though that going through bl and doing the smaller boxes shipping idea is clever and probably a better option. Good luck in finding a good price! On a side note, out of curiosity, is that anyone on here, bidding on the cloud city? CF

On a side note, out of curiosity, is that anyone on here, bidding on the cloud city? CF Im keen on Cloud City - but am being a bit of a stinge with my top price, so will almost certainly lose.... Its one of those sets I'd like to have, but the upcoming SSD is beckoning... And yes, the more I think about it, posting it over in smaller sections would be quite economic....
Legoman Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Everyone who is going to be importing a US one put your hand up No doubt I will. Though to be honest, I'm not actually a fan of this SSD.. Still need to get the Shuttle first. The SSD Is just another big grey thing I personally wouldn't want to pay over $500 for it, to be honest.. I guess we'll have to see how it sells over the next few months I considered bidding on Cloud City. If I did, I'd be looking to pay up to $350. But I've pritty much decided It's a set I can (quite easily) do without
AoNZ Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Toy World's new catalogue got emailed out. They have the new Pod Racers at $180 and the Naboo Fighter at $80. They also now have the Series 5 figures, which is quite surprising it's almost if they snuck in because I haven't really been tracking their appearance.
Lego Pinocchio Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) New series five figs I wasn't expecting these for another month or so! EDIT: Its alright I found a Jabba's palace set Edited August 13, 2011 by Lego Pinocchio

Legoman Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Walked into Whitcoulls today - several Lego sets with the 25% and 50% off coloured dots. Intresting. Can you recall any of the ones that had 50% off?
CommanderFox Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Walked into Whitcoulls today - several Lego sets with the 25% and 50% off coloured dots. Can you remember any of the sets? Any SW or Harry Potter? Was in TW today, walked into the small lego section, caught sight of the Diagon Alley set and practically drooled over it. They had the Naboo starfighter set for $80 (i think thats been mentioned). CF
Legoman Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Heya guys. Looking to place an order at Barnes and noble. If anyone would like to piggy-back on my order, flick me a PM
harmacy Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Anyone watching / watched the Cloud City auction on TM? Sold for $397 - a relative bargain, considering BL prices are around $650NZD Used..... I see the UCS ISD went for $736 too...
Lego Pinocchio Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I'm selling some of my star wars lego sets and I just wanted to give you guys a heads up and run some prices by you to make sure they're reasonable. (If that makes sense) lego star wars 7678 droid gunship...... I was thinking $35 Lego star wars 7660 Naboo N-1 Starfighter with Vulture Droid....... $40 Lego star wars 7655 clone battle pack...... $20 lego star wars 7663 darth maul's sith infiltrator...... $40 These are just some ruff estimates of the price's and I may not list all of them. SO if you are interested just tell me somehow and i'll be sure to list it on trademe. Thanks

Save the fee's and use PM Those price looks like the lower side of reasonable, so I'm sure they'd sell. I would have been intrested in 7678, 7655 and 7660 if I was just thinking about obtaining all the cool sets I can. But Unfortunately that mind set seems to have changed a bit recently

The bidding got carried away and I've paid too much... :) The Bricklink price does not make sense, seems quite high, you can pick one up for $400 USD on eBay. But I mainly wanted the Lando & Boba figures from this set. The printed Boba Fett figure price sky-rocketed, it used to be only $70... Not long ago. It would be interesting to chart out the values of Lego sets & figures from eBay & Bricklink sales history. Kind of like a stock market. Lego could use it to figure out which sets to release. This year's Podracer is quite good, because the Watto has been on my wish list. Edited August 18, 2011 by nk4002r
nzkiwiman Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Been two weeks since I was in Dunedin looking for new stuff, so some of these might have already been reported. Anyways, Toyworld had some new stuff 8110 Technic Unimog for $400 10218 Lego Pet Store for $300 7877 Star Wars Naboo Starfighter for $80 8109 Technic Truck for $? 8071 Technic ? for $90 7879 Star Wars Echo Base for $180

Also about the price I noticed others sold for more but one or two of the sets haven't really sold recently for other people.
Alex-in-Nelson Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Does anyone know of a Toyworld (or any other store) that still carries a Grand Emporium? My local one only has the Fire Brigade and PetShop.
harmacy Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Does anyone know of a Toyworld (or any other store) that still carries a Grand Emporium? My local one only has the Fire Brigade and PetShop. Good luck! - Last time I saw one was in Hastings in March - And I bought it! Ive talked to the Lego rep since then, and he reckoned they were all done and dusted. Best bet now is to get one from lego.com - where they are still at RRP of $299. However, it will cost you $80 to get it here - You could wait till May when they have their free shipping promotion, or keep an eye out here for when some one does a Lego.com order and piggyback off their order and split postage. The only ones ive seen new on Trademe are asking over $400...

Thanks for the info though, harmacy!
Jabba the Brick Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Hi guys it's lego pinocchio, my account stuffed up somehow so I made a new one (this one) just thought I should let you know
Jabba the Brick Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Okay so as promised I got those sets up, well not all of them but most of them. I'm using my family account by the way. The battle pack will be up sometime this week if not today. Here's the link
RileyC Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Hi guys, does anyone know the approximate shipping rates from the Barnes and Noble store? I can't seem to find prices for them on the website. And when do they update their store to fill it with the new sets? Star Wars doesn't have the new wave up yet. Thanks
