Slave 1 is back down to $100 and midi ISD to $40 at the WH today. Looks like all their atlantis sets have been moved to clearance too. Most are about 50% off.

Really? That Shuttle eh.. If only it would go 30% off.. Then I'd definately pick one up :cry_happy:

I went to the Warehouse - man, that atlantis stuff isn't too badly priced. Anyone know if you're doing 50% off clearances any time soon? That would simply be amazing. Anyone here have any inside info on such things?

On that note, I'm actually somewhat surprised that Cars haven't gone cheap yet, I swear I haven't seen a Cars set sell since the movie was released. POTC seems to still be selling.. Wich is a shame, Because they would be brilliantsets to be getting cheap - Same with HArry Potter

Fellow NZs, I need to sell some of my Lego that I have purchased since the start of the year.

I went and brought a whole heap of sets as I got hooked on minifigures and small vehicles. Since buying they have remained sealed in boxes, and then put in my storage shed.

As I resigned from my job mid year, finances are starting to hurt now and things need to be moved on to new homes..

Whats the best place to try and sell these - this forum, Trademe or somewhere else.

I haven't actually sorted out what is to be sold yet ..

Sorry that this isn't on topic, but I thought I'd ask 'locals'

Cheers

Trademe would be your best bet, But as others have noticed, The Lego market has been a tad slow on there lately. I'd go through what you've got and advertise it here for a week. That way if people here are keen you know it's going to good homes and there won't be those horrible Trademe Fees. If people here aren't intrested, Put them on Trademe. Unless they're sets that are piticularly sought after internationally - those ones could go on BL. Thats my opinion, But do whatever you feel like really, You can't really get it too wrong

Yikes! - that Kreo wasn't long on the market before being heavily discounted..... I must say though, the whole idea of Transformers building bricks only works if the models actually transform. Building 'Alternative models' is a pretty lame gimmick.

I remember some of my old Tente sets from the eighties, and there was a whole line of Transforming Machines / Robots - they were truly awesome.

Not privy to the machinations of the WH, but I do frequently drop by to check on the clearance prices because they are so randomly discounted without any advertising. Will be sure to post here if there's anything on.

My opinion may be skewed by preference and by it being one of the sets that introduced me to modern LEGO, but $80 for Palpatine's Shuttle is a hella nice deal. 600 pieces of decent variety, four uncommon figures, a really interesting build, and a surprisingly nice model. 7959 be hanged.

PS Anyone got a spare Fox or Cody they'd like to swap for a Rex?

Every now and then, we Lego fans make a purchase that may seem illogical to others, yet makes perfect sense to us. So perfect in fact, that one leaps into the air, whooping for joy, at finally getting our grubby mitts on the Lego set that dreams are made of. Never mind the stupid price. Never mind the fact the PPP ratio is a mind blowing NZD $1.11 per piece. Never mind the fact that Ill probably be living on spaghetti and 2 minute noodles for the next month.

Gentle esteemed folk of EB, I have finally purchased a 6399 Airport monorail.

While I didnt go completely bonkers and buy a MISB set, I still opted for one of the nicer used ones on BL, with all pieces present, parts in excellent shape, and no yellowing.

Im really quite chuffed :tongue::cry_happy::laugh:

My goodness, You've officially gone mad! ..I hope you enjoy it

I must say, I'm glad those older sets don't really appeal to me, It could be quite (even more  ) costly

Are people here planning to come along to the Christchurch Meeting tomorrow? I know Epic_Red and I are planning to head along, It'd be great to put some more faces to names :classic:

Im putting 99% of my desicion to do this down to nostalgia. When this set came out, I was a 10 year old Lego mad youngin', who had many many smaller town sets, but none of the biggies like the Airport Shuttle and Victory raceway - despite being on Xmas and Birthday wish lists for the next few years. (The Victory Raceway is next on my list :cry_happy: ).

I was never into Space or Castle (If I was, I would really be in trouble with the wife!!!)

While I love my Modulars and UCS SW sets, I think finally getting this set is the cherry on top...

Another big SW collection dump on TM at the moment. Slightly older stuff with quite decent starting bids.

Indeed, But they're all yet to get close to reserve by the looks of it. Luckily there's nothing of intrest to me :tongue:

It was great to meet some more fellow fans yesterday, and skyping Brickthing was awesome too. Looking forward to December

Any other sales to report? I noticed at K-mart that they've put last years Battlepacks on Clearance for $12, and the Geonosis Superpack on Clearance at $99, From memory

True. I just noticed they weren't S=R.

20% off SW at the warehouse along with quite a few other sets on sale. No sign of a clearance reduction in the last month or so, though, and the current TW and Farmers sales have already been mentioned.

For those of you in CHCH, The Warehouse at South City is having a re-opening sale including 30% off toys until Sunday. I went down there today, and was a bit dissapointed at the selection, but I spose it is the Warehouse  Theres some good stuff there; If it's what your looking for. They did have Collectable Minifigures down to $3.50 which is nice for those of you collecting them - they had a couple of boxes

Some sales happening this weekend..

Farmers have 25% off (And they noticably had the Winter Village and Queen Annes revenge which can be hard to find  They actually had quite a good range for a nice change)

Toyworld is having at least 20% off all Lego - Which is very good for the fresh stock of the new Exclusives - UCS Imperial Shuttle, Tower Bridge, Winter exclusive sets, UCS Jedi Starfighter...

Kmart didnt have any sales, But they had a UFO game (I'd never seen it until I saw it there  ) On Clearance for $12, along with the same old other clearances

Cheers Legoman. I don't suppose those same old clearances include the midi-ISD do they?

No sorry.. Well, They didn't have any in stock anyway. If you can still find them at a kmart, I'm sure they'll be cheap as chips

Are you looking for a Midi ISD specifically, or were you thinking it's just a good price for parts? If you're really wanting one and can't find one, Flick me a PM, I've still go a few left MISB I'm not sure If I should scrap for parts yet, I'm sure I can help you out

On that note, Does anyones still have any POP at their local Kmart? I highly doubt it, But you never know ;)

Cheers Legoman.

Is the midi Falcon very hard to come by these days? Local TW has some left which are included in their 20% off sale this weekend. I'm thinking I should probably pick one up while I still can.
