Cheers Legoman.

Is the midi Falcon very hard to come by these days? Local TW has some left which are included in their 20% off sale this weekend. I'm thinking I should probably pick one up while I still can.

Yes, the Midi Falcon is a good deal. It has sold out in the US and on Bricklink it was selling for close to $70 (US) for a wee bit. So there is demand for it, do you have the apetite for buying up the entire TW stock for international resale ? I can't recall it being cheaper than $55, not sure, if Kmart clearanced it or just sold out at the time the 8087 was on clearance. Even used ones sell pretty high, so I'd recommend grabbing 1 at this price. I bought mine for exact cost a while back, but haven't yet put it together.

Cheers nk. Picked one up on the way home tonight. Rugby and LEGO for me this evening. There's one more on the shelves if anyone here would like me to nab it for them. $56 + postage.

Ha - funny you should say that - The first half of the game was so boring, I went off and working out some technic gearing..... Way to spend a Friday night :sceptic:

On another note, I was told today that the SW advent calendars are coming into TW in a few weeks, plus some odd news - Apparently Lego NZ imported a whole bunch of Maersk container ships for release, but they have been prevented from being put on sale due to 'licensing issues'.

End result, is that we may not be seeing any Maersk product for sale in retail shops here in NZ. If you want the ship or train, maybe get one online before they become discontinued.

Yeah, It wasn't quite as much of a thrill as I was hoping, But Ah well.

Really? Thats intresting, I very rarely see advent calendars in NZ. Thats rather strange about licencing issues? Never heard such a thing for an individual country. I personally think the train is much nicer than the ship, But I really don't need either of them

The Warehouse online appears to have 20% off most (all?) Lego, And thats not bad considering they have the Imperial Flagship in stock online - down to $240 which is a good price

EDIT: Hey all,

Right so I'm doing a deal with a guy over in the states, who's picking me up a fair few Large cups of PaB from his local Lego Store. The unfortunate thing is, I can't quite find enough of piticular parts on the wall that I want that many of.. So if you're intrested in a cup or two (Cups are Just over 1L each) full of whatever parts, Give me a yell. They come to about $25NZ a cup. The pictures of the wall are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/67465533@N03/sets/72157627793901581/

If you're intrested in anything, Please let me know as soon as you can. Cheers guys :classic:

Hey guys..

So, In case you haven't heard, Amazon.Fr is THE place to buy lego at the moment  And I'll be sure to let you know when my first order arrives and condition and such

So what I thought I'd do, to make the whole thing simpler, is I made a quick gadget (in Excel) that tells you instantly how much it'll cost to your door. All you have to do is tell it how many sets you're buying and How much they cost. It'll then sort out everything else and convert it for you

Things it does:

Calculates the TAV discount (You don't pay the TAV (like our GST, or the U.S.'s VAT) when buying from France)

Calculates Postage

Adds on Customs charges and GST (where applicable)

Tells you the total you'll pay in $NZ (this doesn't include any other credit fee's your bank may want, as they vary)

Includes ability for modifications, already built-in (Such as Cost for single set rather that entire order - PM me if you'd like more info  )

PM me for the file if you want it (Just took it down after finding a bug with the postage calculating)

And here's a picture of how I use it:

Hopefully someone might find it helpful

(PS, If anyone asks, this was Algebra revision  )

Thanks for the help Legoman!

Definitely going to give this a try when I can it looks like a great tool!

Also didnt know that brick set had a discount page for amazon.fr too so I'll check that out as well!

And don't worry, algebra is a pain for me too.

I don't think I can afford to look at amazon.fr

I did get a complete Ahsoka's starfighter on TM for $56 though, which was surprising. I had expected to lose out to bids much higher than that. The last complete 7751 on there went for about a hundie more if I recall correctly. One of the rarer sets on my wishlist checked off.

Hey all - I have a question about the import duty tax. Does it apply to used Lego? Ive imported a few new sets via BL and got hit the fee, but am curious about bigger orders for used sets that are above the $400 mark. Any advice or links to websites that clarify this?

Intresting question..

I had been under the impression that it's purely based on value, and anything thats a 'toy', regardless of condition, would get hit if the value exceeds $400. But I may well be wrong

I'm pretty sure customs will apply the GST and associated fees to anything with a stated value that would incur $60+ of GST - a total value of $400 for most items.

We've had problems at work with scientific gear that has to be sent to Australia for calibration being hit by these fees on return to NZ. They are calculated off the value which is stated on the shipping dockets for insurance purposes. As far as I know, customs has never backed down even with proof of prior ownership.

Chances are high that if customs sees a parcel with a value over the threshold, you will be charged the GST and fees.

For those in the Auckland region, if you look in your latest local paper (friday in the case of the north shore times advertiser), you'll find a full page ad for Toyco in St Lukes with 3x 30% and 3x 25% of any single item discount vouchers. The T&C's prevent them being used for some of the big lego sets (7964, 7965,8070, 8110, 8043,7938, 7939, 2824 the 10* series) & they have to be the original vouchers - no copies or printouts accepted.

Valid until Tuesday 15th November

cheers

Nick

Hi all, I have a 21005 Fallingwater for sale. Built once, and living in a glass display cabinet since then. In new condition, and has never been in direct sunlight and is dust free. Includes box and manual (Which are really very nice!). Im asking $150 which includes postage anywhere in NZ, photos available on request. PM me if keen - I may list it on TM in a week or 2 if no interest here, but would be nice to see it go to a EB'er.

Just received my Grand Emporium, shipped directly from Amazon.com.

Only took 8 days too.

Hang on - am I missing something? - I thought Amazon didnt ship Lego here - or was this from Amazon in France? Do you mind me asking how much the total cost of the GE inc shipping was?

Amazon.com has started to ship some sets internationally, But it's fairly random which ones they do/don't. The GE is currently listed at the US RRP of $149.99

They ship certain sets like Diagon Alley, GE, Maersk Train etc.

It came to $245 all up.

I got the dreaded call today.. Apparently I've got GST payable of $150  Thats a bit lame

Just thinking, Is anyone here intrested in half an MMV? I've got one full set, and would like a second (or even third), but not so keen to double up on the blue building. Would anyone be keen on just the blue building? Feel free to make an offer. If you're wanting more than one and your price is fair, I'd happily part out a couple more too
