Hmm, Thats a good price, I wonder what else they have put on clearance recently, I haven't been to K-mart in a while.

I got the Surfer girl. Bit dissapointed with the quality, but hey, It was free

On another note, I just finished building the Taj.. Man, It's a beast! Quite a nice set actually, Very nice in person.

I thought the quality wasn't that bad. :classic:

Super envious man! Would love to see that set made up in person...all that gorgeous tan

I was quite pleased; I got the Viking and it's much nicer than I thought it would be! :classic: It was also interesting to see that the National Lego Building competition is offering a free polybag City Fire Helicopter( Brickset ) with each entry

Midi Star Destroyers (8099) are on clearance at my local Warehouse for $25. Not quite as awesome as $20 each (K-Mart last April), but still a good price for a parts pack.

Good lord its going to be an expensive year! Some great sets in there - probably one of the best exclusive line-ups I've seen for a few years. Does anyone here already have the SSD? Am keen to get a kiwi opinion on the beast.

WOW 359 for R2D2! Jeez the markup for new zealand is ridiculous. Will have to try and source it from somewhere else.

Meanwhile, can anyone recommend a cost effective way to obtain the death star set (10188)?

Sammy down here in CHCH has is. I've had a look, But haven't personally built it. Not worth RRP, thats for sure, and its definately not my Fav UCS, But Hey, It is big.. And that seems to be why people buy it, Right?

No, its not bad, It's just not stunning like some of the others, IMHO :classic:

Wow! There's a lot of desirable stuff on that list Allan, thanks. Do you know the RRP and release date for the Technic Rock Crawler (9398)?

I have one I am thinking of selling on, minus a few figures.

Ouch, you New Zealanders get even more stiffed on prices than us Aussies :-/ Our rrp on the Town Hall is $250! I had it delivered for

$265 in total as I split postage with a couple of others. It's a good set for our price but not as nice for you guys even factoring in the exchange.

Tomfish have you looked at amazon lately? Not sure if they have the 10188 still but for quite a while they'd have them come in and out of stock at cheap (ie 400 aud) prices...

Yeah its on Amazon, but amazon won't ship it to new zealand. So the other option is using one of those shipping companies, but it looks like it will cost almost 150$ just for the shipping!

Just stopped in at Toyworld Browns Bay this morning, and in addition to all that nice new dino stuff, they had the #7946 castle and #7189 mill village raid for significantly cheap prices ($119 for the castle and $90 for the mill). Looks like they might be clearing out the old stock in preparation for LOTR.....

cheers

Just got an email from Toyworld about a 2-for-1 deal for Thursday/Friday. Here's the link: Toyworld :sweet:

I just saw that on telly. It equates to a maximum 25% discount, which is exactly what Farmers have off their Ninjago, SW and Alien Conquest sets. Its a shame those exclusives Allan listed in the last page haven't hit us yet, otherwise I'd be down at TW in a nanosecond!

I grabbed 3 7946's from Fishpond for $89.92 each a few weeks ago... seems it wasnt a huge seller, which is a bit unfortunate! (well. fortunate for me, though) All of the castle has been on clearance at the warehosue for a while also. Castle has always been my favourite theme so I hope this isn't bad news for it all

Also in the news, 20% off at The Warehouse on Starwars, Ninjago and Alien Conquest - taking some of last years battle packs down to $13.57 (clearance +20% off) ... I wont tell you how many of those I bought :)

Yeah, I'd like to know that too, is Fishpond actually usable for LEGO purchases now?

All I ever heard about their service was horrible :sceptic:
