Bricktrain Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 41999 now sold out on S@H. I did order a second one a couple of days ago which is still showing as on Back Order, but the mini mech has been cancelled, the train motor I also ordered is showing in process.

I saw someone comment that Lego was limiting the bonus polybag, to one per household rather than order, which is understandable.
Bricktrain Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Actually I have 2 already on the way, though I did get 3 hot dog stands last month, would have been nice to have received some communication about it though.
Fatteh Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Shipping finally confirmed. Praise be. I think you were right about an "in process" shipping status being a good sign, Alternator. Looks like some people are seeing their backordered sets returned to "customer service" and facing cancellation. What a shabby mess. The last parts I needed for Jurgen's ultimate 8043 turned up as well. Whoop.
pigpen Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) YAY my 41999 just arrived at work. BTTF is on its way on a "slow boat from china". What is even more better. One of my work mates I just found out (due to my parcel) is also a AFOL and she has agreed to combine orders in the future if out orders don't reach the Free shipping mark of $300.00. Alternator Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) I'm told mine just got dropped off - although I'm not precisely sure what, just that a large box has arrived - can't wait to get home, hopefully it survived transit intact. Shipping finally confirmed. Praise be. I think you were right about an "in process" shipping status being a good sign, Alternator. I've got a BTTF in my order as well, so I'll be interested to see if it's in the package, score finding a colleague you can bundle orders with - I know it's going to be interesting in a few months time when the new Minecraft sets come out what I will bundle them with ?! Fatteh Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) Couple of NZ resellers have listed the 41999 on TM. Starting at $650. Edit: I have a MISB 9398 crawler going cheap if anyone is interested. Edited August 15, 2013 by Fatteh
Alternator Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Hurray, BTTF MiniMech and 41999 have all arrived (and boxes aren't damaged, except for some very minor surface indentation on 41999, but no tearing or creasing)... 01799
evil_elmo Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 does lego shop at home still cover import dutys? i'm sure they used too but it seems like they dont anymore http://shop.lego.com.../Pricing-Policy anyone know?
Alternator Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 does lego shop at home still cover import dutys? i'm sure they used too but it seems like they dont anymore http://shop.lego.com.../Pricing-Policy anyone know? It isn't the most reassuring message, but I can't actually recall what the message said or if it's different (it could also be a partially generic message rather than fully specific for NZ). My expectation is that yes they would still cover it, it would be quite a change to just leave the prices the same but stop paying gst or whatever the charge is to the govt...

My last order, 41999 and BTTF had NZ labels on it and return address was a PO box in NZ. Maybe they ship from overseas to their store in Auckland then re-ship to us.

I think the message use to say all tax are included in the price My last order, 41999 and BTTF had NZ labels on it and return address was a PO box in NZ. I haven't order from shop at home for about a year now, there is a few sets I would like to get and offering free shipping is a big bonus

The local Lego outfit is hence the importer and collects the shipments, pays any duties and taxes outstanding and then couriers the sets to their NZ destination. You are effectively buying from a local company, so big orders should be free of any additional charges.

Legonz Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 i hope this is the case, i would hate to get done with duty then when contacting shop@home they points to the duties page of there website I think this is the case - I ordered some stuff over the limit a couple of months back and wasn't hit with any extra fees. I've also just ordered 10234 using their VIP pre-order, pretty pricey (!!) but I just had to have it. Wondering if the pre-order means you can just order if earlier than release, or if it will actually be shipped early too?

I had a May 4th order as well which was over the limit and that went without hassle.

I will be amazed if they sell their sets for 100% markup!! I'll even take my hat off to them if they are successful.

It may take a while, but I reckon they'll sell eventually. BL miniumum prices are $600 and climbing, so the TM ones are competitive. Yes, it's quite a bit of coin, but nothing like dropping $7k on a Millenium Falcon.

I picked it up from amazon shortly after I left my dark ages for about $1100nzd shipped (I think it wasn't available from the lego store anymore)... I kinda wish I grabbed a Star Destroyer which were priced the same at that time (so also about 1100 shipped, assuming I could get them to send to NZ), but couldn't justify such a huge spendup
HolmesA8 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 For those that are interested, Moore Wilsons in Wellington has put out the Collectable Minifigures Series 11 ($4.50), and some of the new Castle sets (unpriced).

OpusMcN Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 If anyone's in the market for it, Toyworld Dunedin has a 41999 on the shelf for $299 right now. They had 2 half an hour ago but now I'm $300 poorer :)
nk4002r Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 And one has gone already.. That will be the only one sold this high in NZ... A huge number of them are available in various Toy Worlds. Some of those are already on TM for $500, but, if the competition keeps up, they shouldn't sell for over $350. :) I've passed on the set from Lego.com, but saw some cool reviews and got caught up in the excitement of it selling out. Now I am the proud owner of #17162 and I've also built up a 9398 for good measure...

Very generous children. I don't think the numbers being supplied by Toyworld are huge. It isn't being sold through their online store; our local might be getting one or two (even they haven't had their allotment confirmed yet); and even the bigger stores got 10 or less. Mighty Ape apparently presold some, but they've all gone now. Would be nice if the resale price came down for those who missed out, but I think $350 might be a little hopeful.
harmacy Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 There was a nice condition 10179 Falcon on TM this arvo with box / manual / all parts etc, but the seller had a buy now of $1500. Needless to say it was up only a matter of hours before some lucky taker snapped it up! Listing 633202900 if you are feeling nosy. Cant help but think that set is worth considerably more than that!
