Alternator Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Does anyone know if the Ferrari F40 is coming to New Zealand. I'd like to import it from the Lego store but hate the idea of paying extra postage and can't justify spending $400 to get free postage only to then be hit by customs charges (of $120) I don't know about the set, but if buying from the official lego online store you won't be hit by customs as i believe they pay gst... At least i've never been hit by a customs bill for tlg orders.

When the parcel comes into New Zealand on the shipping label it will say the GST already paid, so it will get scanned then couriered to you.
Brandysnaps92 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Wall-E Ideas set is available at Toyworld http://www.toyworld.co.nz/lego-ideas-wall-e-21303 $109 plus shipping if you can't get it in store
djm Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Toyco (toyco.co.nz) are having one of their LEGO sales where there are no exclusions. Today only (Thursday Sep 10th). The price reductions vary and some sets may not be in stock. Regards, David
Alternator Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) Toyco are running that sale again today Monday (it had been going for most of the weekend too actually). Stock on the rarely discounted items has come back in this morning as well, so if they didn't have what you wanted on the weekend, go check again it might be back in! This is perhaps the most inclusive discount I've seen on Lego in NZ before... P.S. Wall-E is a great set! I got it prior to any discount (though sadly it's Out of Stock anyway) and have just built it, it's a really well realised model without becoming too complex. Edited September 13, 2015 by Alternator
jabz10 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 That Toyco sale is great, I just picked up the 76023 Tumbler!
HolmesA8 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 For those who are interested, the Warehouse have clearanced the 31019 Forest Animals creator sets, down to $11.96, I grabbed a number of them for the parts. Pretty old set but lots of tan and brown pieces.
Alternator Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 The warehouse redalert sale today has several lego items. Lots of the little sets have already sold out. But of note is the the large technic sets they have still in stock. The Aroc, the Crawler Crane, and the Green race car are all at fairly good prices.
Scandiaca Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Does anyone know whether might ape will have a bigger discount on Lego on December? I'm think about buying Tower of Orthanc which have 15% discount now. Just wonder when I should buy this product. Edited November 16, 2015 by Scandiaca

It's like trying to predict the weather, so hard to say in general, but you can end up waiting a while particularly for the limited distribution sets. Importantly, that is a retired product according to the online lego shop. Personally i'd grab it asap if it were a set I had my heart on, i doubt you will see it around much longer let alone at discount. Edited November 19, 2015 by Alternator
jp-30 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Warehouse Red Alert LEGO sale today. Lots of Ninjago, plus 1 Scooby Do set, and Pirates, plus Bionicle and a couple of technics. http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/redalert/tile-201115-toys
Alternator Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) Mightyape have some very good sales on Lego for their Boxing day sale (starts today... because consumerism ). Of particular note are the Kwik-E-Mart and Simpsons house 29% and 32% off respectively. (sorely tempted by these myself, but I'll be saving for upcoming sets in 2016). https://www.mightyap...s/LEGO/Specials Edited December 24, 2015 by Alternator
nzkiwiman Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Toyworld Dunedin had some 2016 City (not all though), Ninjago and Star Wars Does anyone have insider information on what are exclusives or what may not be sold here - last few years have seen a few Creator sets that I want not come to New Zealand...
nzkiwiman Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Toyworld Dunedin had some 2016 City (not all though), Ninjago and Star Wars Does anyone have insider information on what are exclusives or what may not be sold here - last few years have seen a few Creator sets that I want not come to New Zealand... I found the Australia/New Zealand catalogue for Jan-May and may have answered my own question I know exclusives are not in the catalogue but so far two Fire sets I want (60111 and 60112 are not listed), nor are the entire 2016 series of Speed Champions, a Nexo Knight Mech (70327 If Speed Champions is not released here in New Zealand I will be a very very unhappy customer.
HolmesA8 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Yeah, the Wellington Toyworld store had box out today. Scored a few I wanted. Modern 'Classic' Spaceman, Farmer, Queen, Indian Lady, Knight, Sharkman.
Coopa182 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Yes series 15 Minifigures are out. I've seen them at two Farmers stores, and it sounds like all Toy Worlds have them too. We grabbed ourselves the whole set which took about 50 minutes of bag feeling
nzkiwiman Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Picked up the Creator F40 at Toyworld Dunedin yesterday.
Alternator Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Picked up the Creator F40 at Toyworld Dunedin yesterday. Nice - I have that set on it's way to me too. I have a feeling that the box pic they have of it just isn't doing it justice
Coopa182 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) I just received a email from Toyworld advertising buy one get one half price Storewide, so buying two LEGO items of same value would equate to 25% off the lot. It starts today and ends on Monday, so with the two stats on Friday and Sunday you only have 3 days to make use of it. Edited March 23, 2016 by Coopa182

I wish they had the Brick Bank of the Ghostbusters Headquarters in; as of now there is very little that tempts me.
jp-30 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Any word on when the Disney Collectible Minifigures will hit NZ? We were really early with the last wave. I think I saw 'end of May' somewhere, but NZ is often ahead of the official release dates.
Coopa182 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Toyco's ETA was around 20th of May when they were first up for preorder. Now there is no date so I guess their first shipment has all been pre sold. Haven't seen anything on any of the other usual places yet, and heard they have already popped up in Australia just recently.
Alternator Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 MightyApe have 50% off Minecraft Nether Fortress, Snow Hideout, and Desert Outpost. https://www.mightyape.co.nz/daily-deals/2016-04-19/slot/3 The stock still seems ok, the deal will end 12 midday tomorrow Sorely tempted by these myself except I've already got some big ticket Lego I want this year *sigh*
Coopa182 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) The Disney Minifigures are in stock with Mightyape and I read in the Disney forum here that they have been sighted in some ToyWorlds too. Still waiting on Toyco for my box, but might try my local ToyWorld this weekend for a couple I want as extras (maybe even 1 or 2 for my kids!) Edit: no luck at Te Rapa ToyWorld. Spoke to the workers and said the other stores were naughty for putting them out early. I also noticed MightyApe Toys FB post from yesterday was removed, and now they are on preorder. Edit #2: Toyco have stock (individual figures and boxes). Was chatting to them on FB and LEGO NZ gave them permission to release them early since others already have (presumably some of the ToyWorlds since Farmers and The Warehouse still have nothing). So these should be popping up soon :) Edited April 24, 2016 by Coopa182
