Brickthing Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Toyworld will be having at least 20% off LEGO, because there is a 20-50% storewide sale.
Legoman Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Im 100% into CW but if your wanting some one who isn't then get Legoman he probably might even want some of the things you have, (sorry if you dont Sam )i know you usually Trade huck to flat but how much are you looking for in prices for the 91st troopers? there usually around $11-$14 on TM that gives you an example but id like to pay alittle less i understand if you dont want to go less.. CF Well, i'm not into CW, but nor do i have any CW stuff for trade I just got e-mailed a votcher for 20-50% off at TW. I hope they have some good deals
Fumoffu Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I just got my vouchers too. Looks like a good opportunity to get Toyworld exclusive sets .. not sure whether there's any that I don't have but might go check it out in the weekend. I'll report on what I find.
Dragonator Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Will I need one of these vouchers to get the discount, and if so, how do I get them?
evil_elmo Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Will I need one of these vouchers to get the discount, and if so, how do I get them? i want a voucher too, maybe need to join up? http://www.toyworld.co.nz/twclub.html
Legoman Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Linky Anyone think they'll have Endor in for the sale? I hope so
evil_elmo Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Linky Anyone think they'll have Endor in for the sale? I hope so i guess you dont need a voucher since its 20%-50% off....it would be better if you can choose what you want 50% off lol i'm still looking for the endor on sale too
Dragonator Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Linky Anyone think they'll have Endor in for the sale? I hope so Thanks mate, hopefully I'll get a chance to use it. They had Endor in the Toyworld Megastore in Wellington, so I presume the others should be getting it fairly soon.
Fumoffu Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I think the voucher entitles members to the 20% to 50% starting this weekend. The sale will be opened to the general public from Tuesday. No big deal if you don't have the voucher this weekend unless there's limited units of what you want to buy and you want it get in quick. I think there's a 20% off all toys at Farmers so you can always get Endor from Farmers. I'm not sure that Toyworld will have it cheaper than Farmers. My experience tells me that Toyworld tends to mark their prices up above RRP.
KnightlyKnight Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Farmers Manners mall had 20% off Lego, and had the new Indy sets (except Cario) on the shelf. No Endor yet tho.

If i can convince them to give me 50% off endor i'll probably get like, 4. LOL... Well, One can dream can't he?
Dragonator Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Farmers Manners mall had 20% off Lego, and had the new Indy sets (except Cario) on the shelf. No Endor yet tho. I heard they had some of the castle sets as well, did you see any? Such as, say, the Drawbridge Defence? I've confirmed with ToyWorld that it is a 20% discount on all Lego.
ColdBricks Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Holy fricken crap!!! Can I ask all Christchurch lego buyers to please boycott Toyworld Tower Junction, and also write in letters of complaint to Lego NZ. Why? "Yes we will give you the 20% off lego with the voucher" Great! The absolutely, downright criminal and insulting and evil and infuriatingly not so great? Read and Weep: 7630 Loader rrp 19.99 - TWTJ 29.99! 7634 Tractor rrp 17.77 TWTJ 19.99 8017 Vaders TIE rrp 69.99 TWTJ 79.99 There are plenty of others that have had rrps jacked up by $3-10, I was too angry to remember them. All have been re-priced in the last few days. Rant Over.

All have been re-priced in the last few days. Rant Over. That doesn't surprise me at all and its not limited to Toyworld Tower Junction. A number of Toyworlds in Auckland sell above RRP. To be fair tho I know of 1 Toyworld that consistently sticks to RRP in Auckland so I think it is up to each store owner. Suffice to say that I don't buy much at most of the other Toyworld. I am happy to travel a little further to get to that one and I find that I have to do that a bit because there's more and more stuff that's exclusive to Toyworld.
evil_elmo Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 i used to find toyworld northland over priced and tower junction ok but not anymore! both are over priced now. go farmers or warehouse!! in saying that both toyworld has the endor set for $250 and you can get 20% off it if you have the voucher

Come'on, what company can make a cent selling at RRP if they only sell toys! Just look at TRU, they alway's mark stuff up. Anyway, i picked up an endor today from toyworld tower junction. Used my voucher to get it down to $200. I must say - really nice set!
RileyC Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 $200 is a pretty good deal for Endor. Can't wait untill I get enough for it
Brickthing Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Hey guys, I found Home One! $190 at The Warehouse, coming soon.
RileyC Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Hey guys, I found Home One! $190 at The Warehouse, coming soon. wow its cheaper than i expected! Thanks for the news
KnightlyKnight Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I heard they had some of the castle sets as well, did you see any? Such as, say, the Drawbridge Defence? I'm pretty sure they had Drawbridge Defence, as I'm an old school castle fan, but not much else that I can remember.
Fumoffu Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) Hey guys, I found Home One! $190 at The Warehouse, coming soon. That's pretty cool. Wonder how soon it will be. Is it exclusive to Warehouse? I saw the Midi Scale Falcon today but found the $69 price a bit steep. I like the set but just found the price too high. I'll just have to wait for it to go on sale. Fumoffu Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 where did you see the midi scale falcon? Warehouse Sylvia Park. The box is the same size as the Sep Shuttle but its thicker.
RileyC Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Warehouse Sylvia Park. The box is the same size as the Sep Shuttle but its thicker. the warehouse seems to have a lot of the new sets quite early this 'lego season'. With the warehouses in Hamilton, I've only really seem them stock a lot of the more common sets like the hyena droid, battle packs and the v-19 torrent.

From what I've seen I think Farmers been the best when it comes to the second wave of Lego. They're pretty much got the second wave of Star Wars set first and I still haven't still any retailers other than Farmers with the new Indiana Jones set. Plus that 30% sale they had a while back meant I picked up a number of sets at some very sharp prices. Kmart was pretty good but seem to have fallen off the pace. Most of the Kmarts I been to had fairly empty shelves in the Lego dept. Maybe they are saving it all up for their mid year toy sale?
