Brickthing Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 From what I've seen I think Farmers been the best when it comes to the second wave of Lego. They're pretty much got the second wave of Star Wars set first and I still haven't still any retailers other than Farmers with the new Indiana Jones set.Plus that 30% sale they had a while back meant I picked up a number of sets at some very sharp prices. Kmart was pretty good but seem to have fallen off the pace. Most of the Kmarts I been to had fairly empty shelves in the Lego dept. Maybe they are saving it all up for their mid year toy sale? I hope that's the case, but it doesn't make sense for them to withhold the new products from their shelves until they're selling them for reduced amounts. Unless of course they have the sale but don't discount LEGO by much.

Wouldn't surprise me if they are holding the sets back so that they dont have everyone buying them before the sale starts (leaving them with no stock when the sale hits)

Unless of course they have the sale but don't discount LEGO by much. From looking at the Aust version of the Kmart toy sale flyer ... if we get the same (and we been getting the same so far) then its 20% off Lego. I think Kmart won't want to have the sale and no stock on the shelves. That will be a very bad look so it won't surprise me if they are holding their stock back for the sale. Actually, Kmart being Aust probably has a 30 June year end so they must be going thru stock take and all that so that might be why they don't stock the shelves. Edited June 28, 2009 by Fumoffu

RileyC Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Sorry for the double post but i have just noticed that the mon calamari home one page on the warehouse website (http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/catalog/toys/boys-toys/building-blocks/1289579.html#) Looks to be a warehouse exclusive. In the title it says, "LEGO Star Wars Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Exclusive 7754". Just a thought i needed to share with you guys
evil_elmo Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 i was at the kmart palms yesterday and all the stars lego was on the shelves, fully stocked up they had the normal sets like venator, hoth base, y-wing....etc etc but they didnt have endor
Fumoffu Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 There seem to be more and more exclusive sets these days. Meant we have to go around a bit before we can get all the sets we want. Warehouse don't discount their Lego all that much so it might be a bit of a wait before Home One will be discounted if it really is exclusive to Warehouse. We can only hope that there will be a special when they release it initially. The Sales and Deals section of the Lego website has some new items on sale if you're interested in Bionicles, Duplos or last year's Indiana Jones.
CommanderFox Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Hey guys when is the Kmart toy sale starting? Has it already started? If it has is there a big discount on Lego? Thanks CommanderFox
KnightlyKnight Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Kmart toy sale starts on the 2nd. Their toy catalogue is now up: http://www.kmart.co.nz/Catalogue/Catalogue...e!|20090629 15% off lego generally but Star wars Items of note: - Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker $380 - Endor $199 - Death Star $699 (still pricey) - Battle packs $18.50 - Darth Vaders Tie $50
Brickthing Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Only 15% off? Kmart used to do 20% off almost every second week last year, and Farmers and Toyworld still do 20%. The AT-OT price is good, it's just under 25% off.
Fumoffu Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) Anyone know whether the Death Star and AT-OT will be like the Falcon like year? Only a very limited numbers at each store? Has Kmart given up on 20% off Lego this year? Anyway for sets selling at RRP, there's always the Toyworld 20% off sale. Also, Lego online is giving away a golden minifigure with purchases of $150 or more in July. Edited June 29, 2009 by Fumoffu
CommanderFox Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Hey Thanks for that KnightlyKnight sweet now i can finally get the dropship and AT-OT set at a good price yeah thats annoying how Kmart aren't doing any 20% offs oh well 15% is OK... im glad its SW thats got the biggest percentage off CommanderFox
KnightlyKnight Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Only 15% off? Kmart used to do 20% off almost every second week last year, and Farmers and Toyworld still do 20%. The AT-OT price is good, it's just under 25% off. Actually my memory is that they were mostly 15% off sales with a couple at 20%. Toyworld 20% off was more common. The real saving at Kmart was their prices were about 5% lower in the first place. The Republic attack shuttle was practically a steal at $100 - 15% for a $140 set, and one of my favorate sets of the last year. So it's a shame to see them running with Lego RRP but not surprising. Yes the AT-OT price is very good. At that price it's actually worth it I think, except that I keep looking at it thinking that I could buy an Endor an a Home one instead. Pity Endor is only 20% off as at that price there isn't so much of an incentive to buy it now for me as there will probably be more 20% off sales and I don't think it's exclusive.
Brickthing Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I went to Toyworld Browns Bay today, and they've got all the new Star Wars LEGO for 20% off aside from Home One, which they don't have. They've got a bunch of Echo Base sets, but interestingly they've got them in their LEGO packaging box up on the top shelf, which I presume is because they don't want to sell them until after the 20% sale is over.

AoNZ Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I checked Lego.com and for NZ it has the pictures of the pirate tank, home one and millennium falcon but they are not available yet.
RileyC Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 ah so they are. hopefully they will be in stores really soon
CommanderFox Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I wonder how much the Pirate tank is gonna be, my guess is that it'll be in the $70-100 range which is abit expensive but still for some Weequays and a cool tank i think ill just have to accept it CommanderFox
RileyC Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 yea i think it will be $100. Its a good price but even better when a 20% sale comes along to make it $80 which is awesome
Brickthing Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 even the pirate tank? No, not that. I presume it'll be an exclusive though right?
RileyC Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 No, not that. I presume it'll be an exclusive though right? yeah I think it probably will be because on the Lego site it says it's Hard to find and I think that generally means that it's an exclusive set. It'll probably will be a toy world exclusive
Fumoffu Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 yeah I think it probably will be because on the Lego site it says it's Hard to find and I think that generally means that it's an exclusive set. It'll probably will be a toy world exclusive If it is a Toyworld exclusive then let's hope it will be on the shelves during the toy sale. 20% will be good.
