Kiwi FireFighter Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Hey Guys. Im Dave, simple question I guess.. other than TM, does anybody know where I can find some of the older lego fire fighting sets from about 1990 onwards before they changed to the module style (ugly as) when lego looked more like actual vehicles and structures.. cheers Dave
Legoman Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 Hey Guys.Im Dave, simple question I guess.. other than TM, does anybody know where I can find some of the older lego fire fighting sets from about 1990 onwards before they changed to the module style (ugly as) when lego looked more like actual vehicles and structures.. cheers Dave Well, no. But Bricklink and eBay are availible to NZ, but aren't NZ owned. They'll have what you're looking for though
RileyC Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Welcome to EB Dave! Yea as Legoman said Bricklink or ebay would have them. I would go for bricklink because it will have sets MISB and complete and if you need to save money sets with a few parts missing.
CommanderFox Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Welcome to EB Dave! Why don't you introduce yourself Here. Umm as the others have meantiond BrickLink or Ebay, maybe would have what your looking for. but aren't NZ owned. Btw Legoman, TradeMe isn't NZ owned anymore either....Kevin sold it to some Aussie! Dragonator Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I got a couple of nice deals in the 20% off Lego at the Warehouse last weekend. I thought I should mention that the Lyall Bay store still had 2 7754 Home One sets left, discounted at $190 instead of the retail $250 on S@H, so if anyone is searching for those that's the place to go in Wellington. I have been unable to find the Pirate Tank or the Shipwreck Hideout (both red shed exclusives) anywhere in the region though. The red Creator dragon also seems to have slipped me by. ToyWorld has got the Emerald Night in stock at $200 if anyone is interested, might not be at all stores as there was a limited number delivered to NZ. Might also be worth mentioning that the special minifigs coming out next year, the 16 ones in that promo campaign, will be coming to NZ, I know that ToyWorld stores will be ordering a few boxes each. Accordingly there will be 2 waves as well. While I'm here, I should probably mention that while your TM links are very much appreciated Commander Fox, perhaps you could tone down the excessive use of exclamation marks. Thanks for that.

I haven't seen Pirate Tank or the Shipwreck Hideout at Warehouse in Albany. Well atleast not the Shipwreck Hideout, the tank was there afew weeks ago, most likely all sold out. Good to hear about those exclusive figs! Can't wait to see the price which will determine if I get them or not. Sorry about the exclamation marks, I've edited my last post with listings...no exclamations now. CommanderFox

Thanks for the headups on the Emerald Night and the promo minifigures. I'm going to check out my local Toyworld for the Emerald Night. I think the $190 for Home One is WHS' normal price because that's the price when I bought mine earlier in the year and with 20% off I ended up only paying $150 odd. That's pretty good. I saw a number of the Imperial Dropship BP and heaps of AT-AP at the WHS at Botany (in Auckland) last weekend. Always cool to see older sets reappearing on the shelves at RRP.
CommanderFox Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Just saw in the Warehouse catalogue that the AT-AP's are $50!! Might have to get me one of them for christmas! CommanderFox
harmacy Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Talking about the emerald night, I was in Tory St Wellington Moore Wilsons the other day, and they have Emerald nights for $160. Thats a pretty good deal:) I will be paying them a visit next payday...
RileyC Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Yes! Im so glad we are getting the special minifigs. It saves me buying them off bricklink
CommanderFox Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Just thought someone here would be interisted in this SW collection! Here it is! Quite cheap, I think. Also lately ive noticed that three people are trying to sell their 4502 sets X-wing and yoda's hovel. Just thought it interisting. Here They Are. CommanderFox Edited December 12, 2009 by CommanderFox
Fumoffu Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) The Toyworld at Manukau is having a 25% off sale this weekend. I picked up an Emerald Night for $150. Didn't spot any 2010 Lego yet but it seem like they are starting to appear in the US. I thought seeing how we got the second wave of Star Wars and IJ early this year us Kiwi might get the 2010 sets early too but no such luck. The Imperial Flagship is also up on Shop@Home for $300. Cheaper than I expected so let's hope Toyworld will bring it in at some stage so that I can pick it up during one of their 20% or more sale. Edited December 12, 2009 by Fumoffu
RileyC Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Im getting the money my mum owes me and going to have a look to see if the new sets are in yet cause we did get the last one early and people have got the sets. If a toy store does have them I will get the sets I can and see which ones I can afford and which ones I would be able to get for christmas.
RileyC Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I went searching for new star wars sets today hoping to get all of the ones available. I didnt find any anywhere. I tried toy world, farmers, k mart, the warehouse even whitcoulls. Though I did get the pirate impulse sets which are pretty neat.

Well, we did get this years second wave earlier then everyone else in the world, so maybe they thought that they'll be mean to us this time. CommanderFox

Im not in a rush to get them though. Im waiting to see them up on the S@H website to compare $NZ prices to $US prices to see which would be cheaper.

Maybe us NZ EB members could all do one big order if it where cheaper to get them off SW.com But then again, there are the Kmart sales... CommanderFox
