Probably converting a US figure to NZ, then adding another $50, plus the $10. That's usually how it works for big Star Wars sets. :sceptic: However, if it's that price, I doubt Toyworld would stock it. I was surprised enough that they had Town Plan sets last year, but that was much greater value for $200.

toyworld here got in some pretty pricey sets last year, UCS Millennium Falcon, UCS General Grievous, sandcrawler, Eiffel Tower and they all seem to sell pretty well

so i hope they get most of the 09 sets

yea they seem quite accurate from last years and two years ago's sets. I though the endor base would be dearer than that. the venator to me seems quite cheap for what the imperial star destroyer costed

They have the UCS Millenium Falcon and Eiffel Tower at Toyworld?! I thought they were LEGO shop exclusives! Over here in New Zealand's neighbour I've only found the Sandcrawler at Toyworld. Is Toyworld like TRU in New Zealand? It has exclusives?

Hey guys!

I hate to blow your bubble, but currency converters are wrong. Lego has the least intention of the exchange rate effecting their prices. Keep in mind, not to long ago, our dollar was at .80c but now only .55c. Currency converters are always wrong. Just a little thing you might want to remember

Yeah, pritty much.

They did increase all the BIONICLE sets by $5 each, which was pretty :hmpf_bad: because it meant the cheapest sets increased 50%. However, for City sets I think it's stayed normal, with the Minifig Pack being much cheaper that the US price.

Toyworld seems to order random big sets from time-to-time, but the only one I've seen (and got) is Town Plan. As for the UCS MF, I'm doubtful of that because it's a $1000 set, and halfway through last year Kmart stocked them and some motorised AT-ATs and advertised them as exclusive to Kmart. :sceptic:

I thought the currency converters could get updated everyday? oh well i just hope all the prices are about the same that CommanderFox put up

My local Toyworld stocked the UCS Falcon ... I believe there was one still available last weekend. Kmart definitely had it last year because that's where I bought mine. Wonder if there will bring in any large exclusives this year.

Just got back from Farmers and found the Imperial Dropship and Rebel Scout Speeder in stock. Good opportunity to increase the size of my stormtrooper army.

UCS MF was like $1199 and eiffel tower was about $400 i think...toyworld is pretty much the only full toy store we have in nz

Hey guys well I sore a UCS MF awhile ago probably around 1 and a half months or 2 months ago at Kmart and I think it was around $750 though not to shore because the box was a touch damaged so I guess that should have been the price, I picked it up off the shelf and it was VERY HEAVY :look: I really wonted it  but I never have that much cash on me except the eftpos card

so yeah there was just that one there so I guess there should be some still around on the shelves of some shops if you guys look pretty carefully-that one was right tucked away at the top and I just managed to see it

Yeah, thats what i thought too. But last year when we had our CHCH lego get-together (...just two of us  ) we talked to the manager at toyworld. He said Lego NZ originally only brought in a few hundred of these, which K-mart snapped up. But then they got more in, and toyworld snapped at it without hesitation. They got them in just before christmas last year.

So for the record, TW DID get in UCS MF's.

I still can't beleive they were asking $1200 for it... What a Rip.

I managed to get mine off TM from a nice guy in Omaru for $780

i was the first one to buy the UCS MF at kmart palms during the toy sale, went at 12am haha

picked it up for $795, i think each kmart in chch had 3 and toyworld had one, so a total of 7 was in chch shops

I think the the deal those shops had with lego were different.

Mid-ish last year CHCH K-marts got 3 each, then toyworld got some... They said they had like, 10, for preorder. Then only one ever went on the shelf... i'm surprised they sold 9 by pre-order though...

Let alone the other TW's - that was only tower-junction...

Incorrect, the Millennium Falcon was at $1000 RRP. :classic:

The Falcon was an exclusive to K-Mart for the first month of release, and then it was opened up to all stores. I think ToyWorld was the only other one that picked up on it. The AT-ATs however definitely are K-Mart exclusives. I grabbed mine at the 20% off price when they first came out.

I'm really unhappy I missed the K-Mart sale being away for the last week. Ah well. I was in ToyWorld today and saw a couple of discounts that might interest some of you, assuming they are available everywhere. The Falcon had 20% off (which was the price I got mine for) and there was also 25% off the big Technic PF bulldozer as well as 20% off Brick Beards Bounty and a couple of other nice discounts. I was hoping they would have 20% off everything, but still, it's not to be sneezed at.

I normally buy from ToyWorld becuase they have the best selection and I get pretty much the best value there for most things. Of course I will shop around during sale time if I can.

Yes, it is $1000RRP, but TW's are individually owned, and can charge what they like. I know my local TW was asking $1200...

Heck, my local TW is asking $130 for the solar sailor

That's just dumb, my local ToyWorld never has anything overpriced, I find the prices to be the best around. It's what happens when the store is owned by a Lego nut I guess.

...Lucky...

Down here the best prices are always k-mart really...

well in Auckland its the same Kmart is the cheapest I find and also Ive found out that Toyworld (Browns Bay) doesn't have a good selection all the time, only sometimes do they have most of the star wars sets :hmpf_bad:

so I guess its just the owners problems :hmpf_bad::tongue:

Any news? This thread seems a bit dead ATM...

Anyway, today, i was at the warehouse northwood.

They had a 2003 set!

It was the NBA Basketball set. Really average set IMO, but intresting that it was there...

I also went to TW northlands and tower junction to see if they had any left-over tractors... But no. All gone :cry_sad:

Was worth a go thoough. If your local TW has any left, i suggest offering to buy them!
