Legoman Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 oh i thought it was $299 RRP....my bad Well, having personally built the set, I think it should be RRP $250 Max. I'd never pay $350 for it
David Thomsen Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Saw a lot of new Space Police sets today in Farmers and the Warehouse, including the Limo which I think is wicked rad. I like the 'undercover cruiser' one, though I thought it would at least be in different colours from the Police, to make it look more 'undercover'. I was tempted by the Limo, but I can't buy one set from a range without buying the rest of the range. Is anyone else getting addicted to the minifigures, who originally intended to buy only one or two? I got a couple of random ones, then I had to get the caveman because I quite like the caveman, then I got the cowboy and Indian native American hunter because I missed the Western theme the first time, and if they bring it back next year (fingers crossed) I'll have a couple of extra figs for it, then I thought my Castle sets could do with a Robin Hood... I'm pretty sure within the week I'll have found an excuse to buy every single one. I haven't had any misprints yet, which statistically is better than non-Chinese Lego, which always seem to have things slightly off.
AllanSmith Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) Is anyone else getting addicted to the minifigures, who originally intended to buy only one or two? I originally got 35 at $NZ 4 each. Then I went and bought another 27 at $NZ 5 each. $NZ 275 so far Edited June 27, 2010 by AllanSmith
RileyC Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I certainly am but I am only going to buy enough for a whole set because I dont have the money to sink a lot of cash into just a few more extras and I dont need the extras pieces that much as well.
Legoman Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 Although they are cool, I can't see any point in me buying them. They're not exactly cheap, and I don't really ahve much use for them personally. They're more just a novel concept then somthing I actully would want/use. Hence I did buy 3 in the end. It was intresting to notice Toyworld TJ has moved the Figures over to the other lego. Probably sick of people wasting space at the desk looking for certain figs. They had quite a bit of new sets there actully. But nothing unexpected. Still waiting on the new Star Wars sets...

I just bought two minifigs from TW yesterday so this is really annoying to find out. What is usually at the Lego show at Kapiti?
harmacy Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) What is usually at the Lego show at Kapiti? TW Coastlands organise the show, which is usually a collection of fan based models from all ages. The last show in Sept 2008 had over 110 entries, including entries from myself and Dragonator (We both also helped run the show). The EB post for this show is here. This year It was due to be run in the upcoming July holidays, but we found that there was no appropriate venue available, so we are looking at the next school holidays. Last time we had a few competitions running too, like 'guess the bricks in the jar', a tower speed building competition, and also had a few large LCD TVs running the Bionicles movies and huge Lego play tables. It was a great show, but this year we are looking at incorporating a Lego sale store and a few other cool treats. I'll post more info as soon as details are confirmed:) Edited June 28, 2010 by harmacy

kiwishark Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Just something that came to mind, apart from Trademe, have we ever had the Winter Toy Shop in stores over here? And on a more pressing note- I'm in Torbay, North Shore. Where does a guy go to get the Imperial Flagship?

And on a more pressing note- I'm in Torbay, North Shore. Where does a guy go to get the Imperial Flagship? I recently left my job at Toyworld, however I do note I ordered in several of these as well as the new Advent Calendars. should be here around September. I would imagine all Toyworlds would be the same, or at least most. Cheers!

I'd rather trade, as we all know what these are worth on the Kiwi martket at the moment (The smart ones can probably guess what I brought )
