Dragonator Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 has anyone used an australian guy called "Maxspace"? i checked his feedback and it seems pretty good and because hes just across the ditch shipping wont cost that much. He's very good, I bought a pile of pieces fro him a few months ago. I didn't have any problems. If you need some trustworthy sellers, perhaps start by taking a look at those recommended by other EB members in the Bricklink Trusted Sellers List.
RileyC Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 He's very good, I bought a pile of pieces fro him a few months ago. I didn't have any problems. well thats a relief for me. Did the parcel arrive quickly? If you need some trustworthy sellers, perhaps start by taking a look at those recommended by other EB members in the Bricklink Trusted Sellers List. thats helpful. but i just dont know which countries shipping would be the quickest (other than aussies )
Brickthing Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Often the bigger Bricklink sellers are very very good with their postage, and get the parcels posted ASAP once your payment is cleared. Check the store's shipping policy to see how soon they post the orders. However, seeing as you're trying to get cheaper postage, don't worry about the time it'll take. I always use the cheapest postage options, and it rarely takes more than a week for me to get my order, regardless of where it came from. Anyway, despite this being where the NZers hang out, there is a perfectly legitimate Bricklink questions topic in this forum that might be more helpful for your questions on Bricklink to NZ.
Legoman Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Well, the Chrome Vader has arrived! Send me a PM if you're intrested (including the kind of price you're open to paying please). If there's not much intrest here it'll go on trademe
KnightlyKnight Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 (edited) because i think im gonna buy the pieces to Obis Red ep 3 fighter if you guys think it's safer and cheaper. the catch is that the red 'fins' on the end of the wings only come in that set (AFAIK), so to get them as parts someone has to have parted that set which will likely be more expensive overall.... It is one set I would like but don't have as I have both the blue and yellow Actis fighters. P.S. Farmers has a cardholders day this Thursday with 20% off toys. Edited May 11, 2009 by KnightlyKnight
CommanderFox Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 (edited) Well I had a look on BL and the red wing pieces are only about 25-50 Cents US so thats pretty cheap considering there USED tell us if there are the new impulses at Farmers OK KnightlyKnight that is to say if your going CommanderFox Edited May 11, 2009 by CommanderFox
KnightlyKnight Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Well I had a look on BL and the red wing pieces are only about 25-50 Cents US so thats pretty cheap considering there USED Well if you can get 4 extra I wouldn't say no. I'm sure I could scrounge enough other bits together to mod my blue one to red but those wings are the killer. That and they don't exist in black so no Darth Vaders Actis fighter without paint or custom flaps. The other bricklink/Pick-a-brick project I have on the cards, is modding Jango Fett's Slave one to the size of the latest Boba Fett Slave one. I thought Jango's was cool until I got Boba's. Now I'm just a bit disappointed in it so it will live in it's box till I have the bits to mod it (which I probably could cannibalize from my old Lego collection, but some of those whites are quite old and a bit yellow so new is better). Same goes for the old Imperial shuttle compared to the new Republic attack shuttle. I really hope they re-design that set, so I can sell my old one. I probably won't buy anything more until the OT sets come out later in the year. (Spend some money on other hobbies instead, or save) I have no room left.

Legoman Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 OK, final offers for vader please come in now. If i don't get an offer i'm pleased with i'll stick it on TM in a few days.
KnightlyKnight Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Thinking about it I don't think I can bring myself to spend $50 on one minifig (I saw your TM auction). To quote Luke "we could almost buy our own ship for that" (i.e. his Tie at kmart on a 15% off sale) I had a look at the prices on bricklink so unless he's going 'cheap' it's not for me. Still.... *drool* & good luck.

harmacy Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Hey NZ'ers, Im posting this here, as this seems to be a good 'NZ only' corner of Eurobricks. Later on this year, Toyworld coastlands (Kapiti Coast) will be having another Lego Show, and in order to continue a very young tradition (only 1 year old) Im wanting to build another Star Wars landscape. Last year I did a Hoth base scene that took waaaaay too long to make, but was pretty awesome (Dragonator can attest to that:)), and this year im wanting to do a smaller sized SW scene, but Im kinda looking for ideas...... Something like a DS trench run, or Speeder Bike Chase, or something equally as cool. Does anyone have any ideas of great SW landscapes that can be realised in lego form? I usually take pre-made sets and create a landscape for them - has anyone got any ideas? Just to show you what Im on about, heres a link to my Hoth Video on youtube..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EepCyNQJpCQ...re=channel_page Thanks!
Legoman Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Oh i remember that... The best part were those bullet holes Just kidding! That was truely stunning. I was going to buy it! How much did it end up going for? Oh... Tatooine would be great, mabye Geonosis. Endor would be fantastic too. It's up to you really. Can i just ask, do you have the dates and stuff yet? I'm trying to see if i can come this year.
Dragonator Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Nice to see you around Harmacy, I look forward to seeing how your project turns out, the last one was fantastic! I can't think of any suggestions right now, but I'll let you know if I do. The best part were those bullet holes [snip] I most definitely agree with that!
harmacy Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) I came across a pretty cool image of a modelmakers interpretation of the DS trench run here... http://www.starshipmodeler.com/starwars/ta_gold.htm I love the cut-away style of this action shot, and reckon that it would translate pretty well into lego - especially using the UCS variants of the Y-wing, and a UCS Vaders TIE chasing it. Plus the bonus of no minifigures to make it expensive through BL:). Heaps of Greebling though!! Speaking of which, I was going to buy these 2 models anyway from BL, but does anyone here in NZ have a 10134 UCS Y-wing or a 10175 UCS Vaders TIE for sale? Oh - and Dragonator - Thanks so much for the use of the Mini-figs! I'll pop around tomorrow and drop them off to you Edited May 16, 2009 by harmacy
Dragonator Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 You know, I think you should give the DS trench run a go... It looks pretty sweet! Oh - and Dragonator - Thanks so much for the use of the Mini-figs! I'll pop around tomorrow and drop them off to you Sounds good, although make sure it's in the evening sometime, because I'm out most of the day.
CommanderFox Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) NICE video on Youtube harmacy I like the background Piano music , was that you playing? cause well done if it was I really like it By the way what did that Hoth MOC go for on TM? because I was watching it to the end but I have forgoten what it went for you could try Geonosis scenes and study Battlefront 1 and 2 because there good for referance even though I don't have 1. If you do do Geo then that would be great because i can then see how the master does it before I give it ago in the Arena CommanderFox P.S. is anyone here whos username on TM is Legoagogo also anyone here whos username is Hypertan ? Thanks Edited May 17, 2009 by CommanderFox
harmacy Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Hey CommanderFox, i really wish I could play piano like that, but alas, its not me. Its track #1 of NIN's 'Ghosts' album. The MOC went for $1200 odd - which was less than the price I paid for all those bricks, but I figured that it kept me entertained for 9 months, so the price was sort of irrelevant. Thanks for the tips for my next MOC everyone, Ive got a few ideas, so will do a bit of research and see what I end up with:)
Brickthing Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 As another possibility for a diarama, I think it would be neat if you could do a Kashykk-Clone-Wars display. There's great possibilities for land/trees/water scenery, and Wookie vehicles would look quite amazing.
RileyC Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 hey guys. Has anybody managed to find any of the new sets? They seem to be popping about in strange places and people have got their hands on them. Im going into toyworld hopefully this weekend so im praying to find something but i dont think i will
