harmacy Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Don't usually like to double post, but I've intresting come across this place Some of you may know more about this, but I've certainly never heard about it until now! I actually saw the franchise ad for it on TM last night and was wondering about it too. Sounds like a good idea in principle at least. I remember about 17 years ago I was having some tutoring for School Cert Science, and the tutor company had a Lego Technic course so you could learn about basic mechanics etc. Occasionally I would have a play after my course with the obscene amount of Lego they owned. It was awesome!
RileyC Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 It's $2.5 per 100$, so no, not worth worrying about. some stores will absorb the increase for the most part anyway. Oh right thats nothing. Thanks
MagPiesRUs Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Kingdoms sets are supposedly coming in to Toyworld this week, I'm excited! If anybody sees them please let us know! Just saw 7947, 7949 and 7950 at the Wellington Farmers. They've got a 25% off sale just for today.
Dragonator Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Just saw 7947, 7949 and 7950 at the Wellington Farmers. They've got a 25% off sale just for today. What!!? Dammit. It isn't an open late night is it? Dragonator runs off to check. All stores open till 10m accordingly, I might try and get down there. Thanks TPRU.

I might be able to go there this weekend.
Dragonator Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Alright, so I'm back from my little venture now. The Farmers on Cuba Street didn't have any sets and they looked at me strangely when I asked after them, but I did find them out at Kilburnie, so I presume that is where you meant TPRU. They had all 5 sets which was great, I now have the whole line! Thanks for the help guys, this dragon is very happy.
AoNZ Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Checked my local Warehouse to make use of the 30% off Lego Star Wars sale but no new sets on the shelf. Did have the Swamp Speeder Super Pack and Snowtrooper Battle Packs though. I think it's around $16 now for the battle pack.

Legoman Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) Hey folks - Im after a single piece to make a set 100% complete - its a TrLtBlue, Bar 4L Light Sabre Blade (part # 30374). Can anyone here assist? Happy to pay a few dollars and postage for the trouble. Let me know:) Is it just a normal blue lightsaber blade? Feel free to just take it from my AT-TE if you haven't sent it yet, I've got plenty of spares of those - I won't miss it Edited October 7, 2010 by Legoman
Dragonator Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now my pleasure to present to you a few photographs from Wellingtons very own 2010 BrickAtoll convention! These were all taken on the final day of the building competition. We may not be able to rival BrickWorld, but nobody can say we Kiwis don't try. Enjoy! My entry (1st in the adult section, yay!). The tidiest the front desk looked throughout the whole weekend. A very cool entry in the 13-18 age group, and deserving of the 1st place award. Entry by adult collector Hans, winner of the People's Choice Award and 2nd in adult category. Another sneak peak at my entry, I'll take some better photos before I pull it apart, eventually. Quiditch Stadium by another adult collector, very grand scale here. This one came 3rd in the adult section. A (rather blurry ) shot of some EB representatives. One of the outstanding entries in the 9-12 age group, very well done. This one secured 2nd place. Ragnir is hanging out on the roof. Extreme bungie by Hans, and it works too! Quite a bumpy ride for those poor minifigs though. Lots of people turned up for the prizegiving, a little shy of 200. Lots of prizes were won, I won't deeplink all of those though. At the end of the day, we all had to go home, unfortunately. We had a very fast pack-down which gave me time to go pick up a few sets from the local store before heading home. Thanks for looking, if you want to view the full gallery, blurry prizegiving photos included, you can find them in this brickshelf gallery once moderated. Thanks to everyone who attended, and especially to Harmancy who was kind enough to drive me up and back every day, including lugging my monstrosity of an entry all the way up and all the way back home again, cheers mate. It was a great weekend and a lot of fun, I enjoyed being able to stand around and chat about Lego with so many different people. Hope to see more ofyou at BrickAtoll2011, whenever that may be.
vmln8r Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Thanks for the pictures! Looks like it was a great event, and now I wish even more that I went P.S. love the Quidditch pitch and your castle
RileyC Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Thats awesome! Its great to see so many people in NZ just loving lego. Dragonator your MOC is really cool! Are there pictures here on EB of it?
AllanSmith Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Great photos. Wish I was there too. I passed through Paraparumu recently and met harmacy. Am moving to Wellington to live next week so I hope to be there next year. Do you have room for a 7.2m x 1.2m display?
Dragonator Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Thats awesome! Its great to see so many people in NZ just loving lego. Dragonator your MOC is really cool! Are there pictures here on EB of it? No pictures as yet other than these and the older ones from when it was half finished in the Mystical Castle Mafia game. I'll take some new photographs and post it in the Historic Themes forum eventually. I have to figure out how to do it on my tiny photo studio set-up.
harmacy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Good to see lots of photos Dragonator! And Allan - yes, 7 metres x 1.2 meters will be fine! The more the merrier basically! I hopefully will have finished my SW or Train project by then, so it should be even better next year.
CommanderFox Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 They also have them at The Warehouse, but not on sale. Has anyone been to Kmart recently? Anything notable? I might be able to go there this weekend. Went to Kmart the other day but could hardly see into the Lego isle, was fulled with screaming kids and their mums. Incredible Mocs there Dragonator! Love your castle and the Quidditch Pitch! They should have done 'grass' all around the pitch with some 'sand' around the goal posts, then it would have looked even better! Man it makes me want to go! Could you buy pick a brick stuff and sets there? And from what you said, do you have a Lego store in Wellington? Thanks for those pics! CF
David Thomsen Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 ill chuck it on trademe and pm you the details. Hi, any progress on this? Not sure if you're waiting to find one on sale, or if you changed your mind when I said I wanted one in a sealed bag because you don't need another train station anyway... let me know either way because I need to plan accordingly.
