The thing with the mini-figure heads is they don't have holes in their tops so the cannons would looked sealed over. Are there cylinders with a wider diametre that could be used?

about your first remark, i don't think you'll see that because it's probably too dark to see much inside these bricks. Real cannons do have a sealed off end as well, so that wouldn't be the problem, i guess, the major obstacle is that you can't get a smooth cylinder made out of 3-4 heads... it never really looks like a decent cannon...

i can't think of another cylinder for a minifig sized cannon. in the end, i think you're just going to buy lots of lego cannons if you want the real thing...

but perhaps it would be easier to build older cannons when the weapon still wasn't fully develloped into the well known cannon.

I didn't mean all 74 cannons! I just mean 2 extra cannons instead of what Mr Norro calls "small railing mounted cannons for deck clearing"

The 'small railing etc :-D ' are probably more useful for a pirate vessel... You kill the opposing crew with little or no damage to their ship and any cargo you might happen to want.

God Bless as always,

Yes, Mr Norro you have raised a good point. If ye be wishing to comandeer the vessel then ye don't want to be damaging it badly. So they evented this thing called a "scatter shot" which was a bunch of small projectiles that flew from the cannon and into the soft hides of the oppositition. It did less damage to the ship but maximum damage to the crew.

And if my history isn't too rusty this was often fired from smaller cannons mounted on the deck..

God Bless,

Nathan
