There's nothing stopping someone for creating a similiar poll in the LEGO History Forum! The results will most probably be more slanted towards Castle but ya never know.

After thinking long and hard the pirates have my vote.

Pirates without a doubt.

I liked certain castle themes, but it always seemed like the good ones got cut off way to early. Wolf Pack and Dragon Masters anyone?

I LOVED the Imperial Guards (Red soldiers) so much, I have built 5 ships just for them!

I don't have a single stand alone Castle set built anymore, and I have even become more interested in Vikings than in castle.

Pirates win... well I made them tied at least!

Well this is on the pirate side... It's a good poll, I am and always will be primarily a pirates boy but I confess to owning castle sets too.

Arg Arg!

Agghh! I'm here to save the day!

Pirates is a much more imaginitive, interesting and fascinating line. Sorry I absalutely ADORE castles but there's so much history with Pirates, and I don't know why you Americans are voting for castles, because your country had none of that. But they did have some history with Pirates!

And to all the people who say you can only build a ship with the pirates line, I say you're wrong! If you take a walk (a very one one at that) around the WHOLE of the United Kingdom, you will find many coastal forts built mostly to defend against the Spanish with cannons, ports the whole lot. Plus the pirate period is a historicle masterpiece, the start of the industrial age for Britian, American Civil War (I think) Slavery, the abbollishment of slavery, the battle of Waterloo and a whole heap of other stuff. So if you're a true man, vote pirates! ;)

Adventurers!

Then castle, then pirates.

P.S. I hardly think this is a fair poll, as it is posted in a pirate forum and thus any results would very likely be skewed in favor of Pirates. Thus, given the preferential treatment afforded to Pirates and the nearly 50-50 split between Pirates and Castle, I must presume Castle (I believe the term is) pwns Pirates...

Create the same poll in the History & Adventure Forum and see if Castle performs better...

It would make for an interesting experiment, but I believe Castle would kick butt.

if the ppl that voted in this pole couldn't vote in the proposed H&A pole, it may not be so skewed.

Maybe |-/

I do not doubt the pole is skewed towards Pirates, hence why I suggested creating it in the History and Adventure. But everyone who voted in this poll could vote in the propose poll, so a major influencing factor would be how many of the voters here get to the History and Adventure forum.

I suppose the only way to avoid bias voting is to create the poll in neither the Pirate or History & Adventure Forum.

That would be interesting to see how that turned out. Or just to see which got more votes. I bet the Pirate forum poll would get more votes... you all seem to get a lot of action around here. To be truly accurate, however, we'd probably need two new polls started in each, at the same time, with perhaps a time limit on them.

Let's put it in space... or better yet at classic-space.com. I bet they would appreciate that over there. X-D

But why would we want to?

When this thread was created it was intended to last through the ages, it was more to get an opinion around the time it was created.

Like I mentioned before, if you seriously want a non biased opinion then create a new thread in niether the Pirate or History & Adventure forums. This thread has already had too much "bias" exposure and you'd really need to start afresh to get accurate results.

I have an interesting opinion to voice:

Because Castle has been through a much longer time than pirates, it has a large fan base than pirate which only lasted for a decade. Therefore, more castlefans.

Yes, that is a very good point Mr ImperialScouts. Didn't even last a decade, 1989 to 1997 so that's only 8 years really.

But Castle has been carried along by Knights Kingdom to maintain interest and attention levels, whereas Pirates has had 4+ and Duplo which could possibly have done the opposite.

Edit B.: Post contained the same text twice. Redundant part removed

for a biased poll were not too biased, i mean... thats getting pretty close to being a statistically insignificant margin of difference if my math is partially correct.... which, normally isnt

... speaking of math my 1st year electrical physics teacher said math wasnt too terribly important and gave us all maple to do our calculus on.... i subsequently failed intergral calculus twice and passed my physics course with a pretty good mark ... lol

pirates all the way!! :-$

(Ok, 1986 castle was wonderful, but so was the start of the pirates .. emm... or even better!)

Pirates, pirates, pirates !!!

The Castle series is very good (though I don't much like the recent Knights Kingdom II series) but I prefer the pirates...

Hmmm... difficult choice. The two theme are very nice but i prefer little bit the castle.

I vote for the castle!
