Seeing this friendly debate makes me wish even more that the Pirates theme was extended to a time piece, like castle, and thus had all sorts of sets featuring ideas from the 1600s-1800s. I said it already, Napoleonics, North and South American Colonies(not just Carribean), and just generally other ideas(as there could be MANY).

Taking architechture and minifig design from different world powers would be amazing. Just look at the result when they started doing Spanish ones! Imagine if they had kept going! French(if the bluecoats were not intended to be French), English(they'd probably rerelease a revamped version at sometime) and than other non-historically accurate but historically influenced groups(they could for example have a group of Chinese-ish pirates(or just take it to a whole new area and do the Far Eastern Pirate idea as a whole theme.)

Napoleonics would bring in almost all of Russia... (and we could maybe get some highlander musketeers :D)

These are my 2 favorite themes, but I really really like Pirates and I really wish we could have seen lego present us with more ideas.

The pirates sets that i like are BSB, SES, Eldorado Fortress, the other fortress (forgot the name) and 1 or 2 medium-sized ships..... that's all.............but............... I like almost all huge castles.................... so, it's obvious that I'm a castle fan and voted for castle............

I only have BSB, that's my only pirates set cos i started to collect LEGO in year 2004 (after 10 years quit playing with LEGO)............not much appealing pirates sets came out from year 2004 until now............. too bad

To be honest, while starting this topic I expected Castle to win. It just has more fans because it lasted longer and had more sets, more subthemes... And that's OK with me, however that of course doesn't mean this line is better. It's our club, Pirate club, that is exclusive and only for the chosen ones. ;)

Basic mathematics:

12 / 20 * 100 = 60

Divide the top into the bottom and times it by a hundred.

Or you can do it a long stupid way if you're really bored.

We find the lowest divisable number that goes into both 20 and 12. This happens to be 2. So then we divide 20 and 12 by the 2 giving us 10 and 6. So we times the 10 and 6 together and get 60.

If I was dying of this flu I've come up with half a dosen more completely stupid methods of achieving that figure...

True, but not entirely. In that case 12 + 20 = 32 votes equaled 100%, so:

32/100 = 12/x

32x = 1200

x = 37.5

So Pirates had 37.5% votes.

Right now it's 12 to 21 so 33 votes equal 100% and:

33/100 = 12/x

33x = 1200

x = 36.36 (%)

Yes, but shouldn't the bottom be the total # of votes (30) otherwise pirate would in fact be winning (60%). 12/30 * 100 = 40 ?
