Which is better: Castle or Pirates?

I too voted castle, but to be honest i only voted that way because of all the recent new wave of sets. If we had of been given some new pirate sets as good as the castle ones than i might of gone the other way.

I would have to say both actually since with a castle you change a few bits and make a Imperial Fortress.

You could use the Forestmen Hideout to make a pirate hideout

I would say that i think:

6249 Pirates Ambush + 6246 Crocodile Cage + 6066 Camouflaged Outpost + 6071 Forestmen's Crossing

Would make a hell of a good Hideout Set :-D

I'm not too keen on this sort of poll. You like what you like. It really is that simple.

The problem of course is that the results will vary greatly from forum to forum. Over at CC, this would obviously yield a very different result. Here, on a Pirate dedicated forum, the result is bound to be scewed towards Pirates. Of course, posting in the History & Adventure forums may yield a completely different result as there isn't the same Castle presence as there is over at CC either. None of these results truly represent that totality of the community, or even the online LEGO community.

Pirates and Castle are both great lines. Generally, I think it depends greatly on what your interests were as a child. For me, armour and its workings were completely fascinating, so it shouldn't be too surprising that I quickly became enamoured with the middle ages (and thus the castle line). Each of you probably has your own story as well.

Castle will probably always out number us...but remember, we've got cannons, ships, and muskets instead of your silly swords :-P !

The Pirate collection was the best ever. Nice Minifigs and very cool Sets. The Castle Theme was and is still the same!

I voted Pirates (SHOCK! GASP! DISTRESS!) simply cos, I grew up with it. I also don't like where Castle seems to be going these days. It seems to be going down the Lord of the Rings/Warcraft alley. Dwarfs, trolls, orcs, goblins etc. If I wanted that jazz, I'll go back to Games Workshop and relearn all THOSE rules... What happened to the simple days.

But i am still in hope, that a new pirate line will coming *wub* . And we have seen all the years still castle themes and it becomes boring.

Maybe we will then see the biggest pirate ship ever ;) and a new colony outpost and more more more...

And the Mission Mars Line was a flop and Batman too and Pirates "rocks" ;)

Pirates is so much better than castle. mainly because i am a big fan of pirates and anything piratey. plus i looked at the old castle line and it was mostly small sets. the pirates isnt huge but the castle is like tiny! and the castle nowadays sucks! im hoping there will be a new pirates theme (along with everybody else) oh and if you like castle more than pirates, what are you doing on a pirates forum?

However, I feel castle is more useful for parts to me, and I remember playing with and building castles before I was a space junkie. :-$
