Some of you may remember my LDD Pet Store from a while back.

After some considering I've decided to abandon that one as it was just going to be far too expensive for me to build on my limited budget. Instead I've chosen to try and build something in a similar vein but only using pieces I have already (which isn't much once I've built Cafe Corner and Green Grocer)

What I'm after is any suggestions and comments, this is my first pass, I haven't got a full back yet, or decorated interior or a full roof but you get the idea. And please consider that I don't have unlimited pieces so I may not be able to take all suggestions offered.

Anyway enough yapping, here is my Pet Store Version 0.1

As you can see I ran out of Dark Bluish Grey Tiles for the footpath :( . I'll have to come up with another solution, suggestions?

I don't like the mix of white and tan at the back here, I'll try a few more things with it yet. Also as you can see the top is incomplete.

Really lovely work. That 'P' is fantastic

You've done a great job of mixing a few different colours and lots of small pieces. Use of the 45 degree corner pieces is especially nicely done. I love the recessed entry.

Now I want to see some brick-built animals to go with it!

The store could stand to be a little taller, but I understand you're limited in parts.

As for the tiled area.... you could make the whole pavement dark tan so at least it's consistent. The other option would be to put a little garden frontage and use some of the dark bley tiles you save by adding that to finish paving the rest of the outside area.

Really nice work!

That's not a bad idea about the garden bed, I think I'll give that a try!

I love it.

Realy nice work and it blends in perfect.

Props

That is great. I love that sign. Any plans for an interior?

Ooh I'm digging that sign outside. Great how it sits further to the back creating that corner for the PETS sign. I can't wait to see the top of this finished too :)

i like!!! i like the lime green .... thingy at the back. why is the sidewalk in front of the door brown?

Great job. You managed to put a beautiful amount of detailing in there that makes it sit very well amongst the other TLG designed buildings. The red sign is beautiful, and setting half of the building back gives a sense of depth and visual interest that breaks up the otherwise even building facades very nicely. I like the idea of incorporating a garden, but perhaps instead of in front, a rear rooftop garden would fill the currently open space.

My criticism would only be that the second and third floor has alot of beautiful detailing, but it's slightly visually disjointed. It seems that the building is unsure of whether it is two separate buildings, or one with some repeated themes. It might be best to either make the two halves (right and left) distinctly different, or to make both halves of the the third floor -and the transition from 2nd to third- more similar. I have to say though, that this is a minor quibble about a very nicely executed MOC.

Veri nice work WetWired  I already saw the LDD design and I found it quite brilliant and fitting prefectly with the CC and GG style

Anyway I have two little criticisms to make (no offense!) : first, petshops used to have very large show-windows in order to expose all the animals and I find yours a bit small (but I understand the building size does not offer many place) and second, I find the Pets ad wonderful (I really love that "P" ) but too large for the building size...

The design on the walls is great! Overall a very nice moc and the sign is all so very inventive, good job.

Hi WetWired,

Interesting use of parts for the greebles of the facade.

I really like the PETS sign, and the little corner you made to put it on.

Can't wait for the finished product.

Keep it up.

Kind regards,

Teddy

Gotta love that "PETS"-sign - it looks great and is clearly the highlight of the buidling exterior.

Nothing to remark about the facade, either. It blends in well with the other buildings, yet the way the right side sits further back makes it stand out. Love it!

That pets sign is really well created. Neat moc, only thing I would considering changing is removing the lime green colour at the back.

Wow! Simply amazing! I love that shop! Wonderful effort and thanks for sharing! Hoping to see a few views inside??
