I am about to start work on a model of a Venator class star destroyer and have no idea how to get the shape of it the right way. :cry_sad: I need to have this project done by the end of this week and need to know any building tips that could possibly help me do it. :classic:

Thanks

1 week to finish?

I think using the same technique as on the imperial star destroyer would be the easyest?

Thats not exactly a resourceful answer. Why dont you try helping him? Oh, and one more thing to help. You will need alot of the same bricks.

I'm slightly confused as to why you should want to embark upon such a project with no idea how to do it - but good luck anyway.

Some questions:

1) What scale are you going for? Micro? Minifig?

2) Does it have to have an interior or are you planning on building a big mass of bricks for strength?

I think the technic frame with plates might be your best bet - like the ISD sets - but they can be tricky to get right and with enough strength.

I have no idea if it's any good, but you could maybe get some inspiration from the UCS Star Destroyer or minifig scale Star Destroyer.

Good luck

I know it seems confusing that i am just starting in on a project like this, but i have the parts for it and all of the right color. As for the time, well i have a lot of free time i tell you what  and at the endo of this week my younger brother is having a Birthday party at our house and everyone in my family continues to question why i have so many legos without anything ever built to show. :sceptic: And i have managed some large projects in short times before but its just the fact that i dont know how to make the frame that keeping me from it...

Now confused,

Cole J

As much as it hurts for me to help someone who says "Lego's", here are some some tips I have, since half of my life is dedicated to the Venator. (The other half to the AT-OT and Dropship. )

*On each side, by the towers, there are four guns. 8 in total, all swivel, double barrel, do them in a darker color than the entire rest of the ship.

* Make the top two spokes detailed, not just rectangles!

*Try to remember the open circle fleet symbol. It's understandable if you don't. But not for TLG.... then again, they didn't.

* On the big red stripe down the center, there are four small gray squares. Don't make them too noticeable.

*Try to have at least 8 back engines.

* There are 4-5 red strips on each side of the back wings.

*Make the wings fat, and try to make the sides a little detailed. Just some random techno-looking pieces will do.

Hope that helps!

The correct terminology is "so much LEGO" or "so many LEGO bricks," just so you're clear on that. Are you trying to make this fit minifigures, or just be a hull? I hope it works out for you, good luck

Wow. Quite a project you got at hand there.

I'd say, try to get an idea on how to construct it from the one TLC made. Look at the Toy Fair pics that show the Venator opened up and try to see how the skeleton of it is built. You don't need to include all the play features, just the general anatomy.

it will be Micro scale but not really small. (at least two feet)

Huh? A micro-scale model that is 2 feet long? That doesn't make any sense! Do you even know what micro scale means? :hmpf_bad: If you don't, you shouldn't use such terms because otherwise you only confuse people even further. :sadnew:

I agree with Oky Wan Kenobi that the Venator you're making is not micro, anyways why do you need finish it by the end of the week?

AHHH!!! Too much confusion :wacko: . Yes i know what Micro means and i suppose that doesnt count. Needs to be complete by end of week for a partie and i have finshed quite a lot since last night. i will post a picture later today.

Just look at the other post Venator MOC, made entirely out of 7675 by KinGanon. He's done one just from using one other set. Together with the information from the upcoming set and pictures from Wookieepedia, you should have plenty of reference. Now all you need is time and bricks.

Good luck! Dont forget to post the result...
