JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Nah it will probably be bionicle minifig Yeesh, i hope not. Those non-playable Bionicle minifigs have no right being called minifigs. Damn... they better not have more junk like those planned for future sets. I don't want to see the Bionicle minifigs becoming yet another Lego body standard. The ONLY time I could see them as accepable would be as a cost-cutting way to have ****loads of stormtroopers, but without the cost of having EVERY one a regular, more-expensive-to-produce minifig. I hope Spongebob is system. Then we can get all these neat, aquatic trans parts without having to feel homosexual by buying Belville sets. Quote
Boa Tohrok Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I personally am hoping they do Jack Stone sized people, because I fully despise Spongebob. Quote

Indeed, there should be lots of great parts such as crabs, fish, clams, jellyfish and translucent weed !!!!!! I hope for lots of great parts in those sets !!!! Well, I totally disagree on your remark concerning Bellville !!! They are fantastic parts sets !!! I would buy them if they were cheaper WITHOUT feeling gay *wacko* Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Yeah yeah, I wouldn't either lol. :$ But it likely would to the general buying populace. Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I bring great news! I am almost positive that they'll be system read this quote from the press realease- The first two Nick properties coming to life in brick form are "SpongeBob SquarePants" and the newest network hit, "Avatar: The Last Airbender," both rated in the network's top 10 for boys ages 6-11, according to A.C. Nielsen. Both lines will be available in August 2006. As you see it says 6-11. The scale to system is... 6-11. Read this next quote- LEGO Avatar: The Last Airbender offers two hero models with collectible minifigures and role play action to recreate popular environs of the animated series. Planned marketing support includes TV, Web content, LEGO Club, model tour, co-promotions and retail feature. If they're both aimed at 6-11 year olds and also it confirms Avatar is minifig scale, I am sure SB will be to! Also, if Duplo got Dora the Explorer and Bob the Builder I think we need 2 of our own aswell :D This is my take on it ;) Quote
MattZitron Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 We could get some good parts from these. Airbender could have some good heads etc. I think more varied Lego can be positive. Whatever you say about 4Plus Pirates, we did get the odd good part. I loved the Durmstrang ship. Quote

JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Just about any Lego set gives a good part here and there. I just hate seeing Lego hurt their sales with poopy, ugly sets that give them a bad name. Luckily, Spongebob probably won't be one of those lines. *satis* Quote
Lost Viking Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I just realized, why is this thread in "non-system themes"? Shoud'nt this be in LEGO theater? Quote

sam89 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I think this should be moved to LEGO Theater, since it's almost certain that it'll be System scale. Quote

Cutty Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 My logic lessons in last semester fail me on the matter here... Basically I've learned about "truth-transfer", as in "two or more true premises may under no circumstances render a false conclusion"... But here we have me a)"liking Spongebob" and b)"liking Lego" and as a conclusion c)"not linking Spongebob Lego"... I think TLC has really lost it's way of pulling its own thing. Where are all the good sets of he past? Suffering from nostalgia, Cuttybob Circlepants Quote

Beagle Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 The ONLY thing going against Spongebob and Avatar, in my humble opinion, is that they are licenses. And some folks, understandably, don't like licenses. Personally I don't mind them, as long as they are licenses that are fun/cool/interesting. I think both of these fit this category. Spongebob is a nice, light-hearted license with potential for fun characters and eccentric new pieces....... Avatar is an anime/fantasy license that I bet will have GREAT minifigs and pieces for Castle fans..... and then of course there is Batman, on the flipside of Spongebob. Seems like a good range to me. Maybe some folks think Spongebob is too kid-oriented. But, well, Lego IS a toy, after all, and most of its consumer base is kids.... it's easy for us AFOLs to forget that sometimes, I think. Besides, Spongebob, while silly, is a clever and creative show.... right in line with the Lego philosophy. Quote
The Middleman Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Ok, Spongebob will definitely be minifig-scale. I was talking with some people who brought up the idea that it might be like Chewie, where they have a 'head' that changes the shape of the body (in this case, it fits over and makes it rectangular). That would allow Spongebob to be a fig. I personally like this. As it will be fig-scale, I think we can expect a lot more of a very cool piece; the trans-green seaweed pieces introduced in Rescue From The Merpeople. The more and more I think about it, the more and more I look forward to it. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted November 8, 2005 Governor Posted November 8, 2005 Am I the only one that is vomitting after hearing this news? No, you're not! I am glad to see lego gave a new definition to the "no more expensive licences" expression :-D I'm not the least bit glad! The first definition was brilliant and they should live by it religiously. We could get some good parts from these.Whatever you say about 4Plus Pirates, we did get the odd good part. And what are these imaginary parts? Quote
