Languages, are you a 6-11 year old boy? Of course this looks dumb to you. if you have a younger relative ask them what they think and you mught get surprised.

Yes. I'm not a fan of the show personally, but here's the plot:

There are four nations: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air, that all coexisted in harmony. Then, the Fire nation decided to attack the others, and only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them(I.E. The nation you come from is what element youy are able to control, or "bend". Sometimes people from a nation can't bend at all.). Just before he had the chance to, though, he vanished, allowing the Fire Nation to take control.

100 years later, two siblings from the Water Nation uncovered the last Air Nation citizen frozen in ice(The Air Nation was destroyed in a Fire Nation attack). Supposedly, the Airbender, Ang, is the new Avatar. He must master all the elements and confront the Fire Lord.

Anyone have an idea what the show is about?

Not to mention that this series has some seriously cool animation. It's really stunning what you can do with animation. Avatar's use of elements is really cool, especially when it comes to the battle scenes. Also, this has great Lego potential, considering that all of the scenes have huge Chinese temples.

And for all those who doubt this show, go here and check out some clips:

Started watching some of the clips, didn't make it all the way through any of them.

It's your typical "Americans-trying-to-do-anime" poop, like "Totally Spies!" on Cartoon Network.

Still, there should be some good parts, if they make system.

Galidor-style... ugh. I'll be buying these for $3 in the clearance bin at Walmart too, won't I?

Why did lego buy the lisence to such Megablocking rubbish...I

A. It's Nickelodeon, who they just got a contract with. Might as well snag it.

B. Not just Nickelodeon, but even though in anime-style, the rights are fully American, not any hidden tie-ups with any of the rights hiding in Japan.

C. Lego's making a misguided attempt at FINALLY getting an "anime' license... only they're too megablocking stupid to realize this is FAKE anime... the stuff that makes the REAL anime fans cringe and throw things at their tv sets.

People have been screaming on messageboards for years to see Gundam or Dragonball Z type popular anime get picked up by Lego... and THIS is what they do?

Yugh... I just hope the sets are good and that they're NOT Duplo, Jack Stone or Galidor style... but that probably won't be the case with any of the Nickelodeon titles.

Im not young and i like the series alot, there is nothing bad with it, if you have ever seen it, just like and old series called Shin Chan, i though it was a piece of food after going through the body, then i watched it and laighed my "were food goes out of the body" off

Argh, YES >_< But I can cross my fingers and hope I at least get a useable fig or two out of this...

...oh god, it's gonna be peach-tone, isn't it? I know it's drawn, but it's a liscence

There went my only viable use for the sets -_-

Alright. I give up. I've defended almost everything new in the face of older, more traditional fans, and for the most part, I have gotten them to see some of the light. Like Sigma 6 of GI Joe and the 2006 Bionicle sets

But not this time. I'm not going to waste my energy trying to convince people who've already made up their mind. I've had just about enough having to play a losing David to an army of Goliaths. You can go about with your misconcieved notions of cartoon and sets, it only leaves more of them for me. Congrats, you're doing me a huge favour. *satis*

Well, on a lighter note, I kinda understand where you all are coming from. This isn't your traditional pirates or castle. It's different, but hey. Everything needs a little change here and there. As long as this stays within the realm of minifigs, I'm getting this for sure.

Oh, and this show was NEVER an attempt at "anime". It's meant to have it's own look that's unique from other shows. Just because it REMOTELY resembles anime, it doesn't mean it is. Besides, what do you want, stick-figures?

The reason I say Megablocking is because Im not allowed to use the F-word (food for you younger users).....

:) Thanks for considering me!

Well, there's my two cents. Hope I didn't offend anyone, as that was not the point. Just wanted to state some of my feelings revolving these sets.

Avatar looks good for us castle people, but I don't know about other themes. Maybe pirates if there are ships in this show.

I hope this theme is in system scale. But these days with TLG, you never know.

No way. I mean, the people who pop stuff out like that aren't going to SAY it's supposed to be anime, but there's a clear cashing-in of certain anime aspects. It's not illegal of course for things in anime to be mildly cannibalized by other cartoon productions around the world, but one should definitely not be suprised to hear anime fans groan when it is.

People who grew up liking anime over choppily-animated, continuity-errored american garbage have a clearly defined wall between the two. Avatar, like Totally Spies, both clearly are normal, crappy, american cartoons... but with a clear attempt at emulating the anime style. It can't even be denied.

The character designs are there, but the quality of the animation and the rest of the production jumps off a cliff and lands face-first.

It's like waking up one morning and seeing Scooby-freaking-Doo's character designs changed into wide-eyed Astro Boy eyes.

It smacks you in the face at mach 10.

Teen Titans is a RARE example where parts of anime are utilized by america, but remarkably somehow doesn't suck.

Well, here in Mexico, well...............we are "a little bit" :| .......you know, we don't get new stuff on tv until two or three years later the series or cartoons have been succesful whether in Europe or U.S.A., so I've been checking out the links some of you have posted from Avantar's fans and my conclusion is that if lego is going to make it in a system scale, it might be at the end a little wicked and basing me on this maybe Exoforce will be cooler....but if lego is going to make it in a scale like the Galidor sets, well, the youths will find it more atractive. The only thing that makes me want this sets in a system scale are the chinese buildings: after Orient Expedition sets we haven't seen greater ones (let's be honest, the ninja were good but not that good), so let's hope they build nice orient buildings!!!! and if not, pitty :|

Maybe it'll suck maybe it won't. Nevertheless if TLC makes this a Galidor lookalike and make a bunch of benjamins on it - then why not. The more money TLC makes on doubtfull themes - the bigger the chance they won't 4+ Batman. If You don't like what they make = DON'T BUY IT. It's kinda like bitching about the new colours - it doesn't matter. We can only hope that they'll keep everything system - but they haven't so far. I don't buy Duplo or Quattro or whatever - I buy system. At least I don't megablocks about TLC's efforts to make money in other categories of toys.

Yeah, but sometimes Lego's attempts to ONLY make money instead of a quality product is detrimental.

Galidor stunned people when the prototype pics of it hit, it stunned people when it was actually released, it stunned people when even worse Happy Meal toys of them came out... the only time Galidor DIDN'T have anyone shaking their head was when it finally landed in clearance bins, with $20 sets going for $3 as well as $10 going for $3.

There's nothing wrong with fans who care about a company screeching about things the company is doing which they think will be a disastrous idea.

Especially if after time, the fans start being great predictors of a product's success and the company likewise starts then listening to them.

Seeing a business you wish to be prosperous instead making CLEARLY bad, money-losing decisions is a disheartening thing.

Sure, we're bitchin', but the nicer word for it is giving an honest opinion. It's like focus group data, but for free.

If they care to look where fans actually speak publicly, that is.

Keep in mind too, usually by the time prototype pics are shown, it's already WAY too late for any changes to be made to appease the public's criticisms... but that doesn't mean they shouldn't voice them. While proto pics of 1 wave are showing up, some exec sitting in an office somewhere might be ordering up / tweaking changeable specifics about the next year's waves.

Its a cool show...

Katara *wub* lol, right.

I'd be happy, but I hope it isn't Galidor-ish, but like, with an Aang Minifig and a Dino/Appa guy for them to ride on, and some old pirate style Fire Nation Ships, and such. It'd be cool, but I prefer modern and Space, i'd just get Aang, Katara, Sukko and Katara's brother. Then i'd make them Jedi!

whee! *flies around like an Airbender*

Yes, I agree.... Giving once honest opinion and discussion the what, where and why is great. All I say is: let's keep it as a discussion rather than cry and bit** about it. Keep a sober discussion instead of just going "I hate this and I hate that" - just way too childish.
