Mr Man Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 ADHO, any thoughts on Appo? I'm not sure if the green visor looks right, but in the picture I found, it was green, so I went with that. Well I'm not ADHO , but I think the visor needs to be a much darker green, not pale. Quote
ADHO15 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 I was going to wait to post something with my comments, but what I've been working on is taking too long and your work is piling up, so I'll have to keep on top of it. I'm not going to comment on each individual or I'll be here forever. Wonderfully-detailed and well-made clones as always, Grenade! Nice to see more from you, CTS. They're very clean and have some nice patterns. Darth, your clones are good, but I think you need to pay more attention to the details to make them look better, ie. Rex's hair and tally marks, Tup's shoulders, Jesse's Republic symbol, etc. EDIT: I made Appo, much better now (Take that, ADHO! ): It's not a competition ... evidently. I'm kidding! He looks good, but... Anyway, ADHO, any thoughts on Appo? I'm not sure if the green visor looks right, but in the picture I found, it was green, so I went with that. I'm not sure what picture you used, but Appo doesn't have a green visor. Like Mr Man, the green should be darker if you're using that, but Appo's should really be black. As far as I know, only the jet trooper's is green. In addition to that: - The angles of his helmet pattern should be steeper so that more blue can be seen at the sides of the visor. The bottom of the triangle you used would finish in his visor somewhere, rather than on his chin. The blue stripe on his chin should also be thicker. - You're missing his knee patterns. - The arched bottom of his chest plate should be a bit more square, like in all Phase II clones. - The blue pattern on his chest should follow this arch down to his hips rather than end in the middle. This pattern should also be more curved and have a white patch cut out of the middle. I'm deliberately being picky to show how much more attention you need to pay when noting the details. If anyone wants my personal opinions like that, just ask and I'll be as quick as I can, otherwise I'll comment generally some time later. Quote

ADHO15 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 And Gree's and the Clone Scout Trooper. Yeah, but I was referring to only those in the 501st. I didn't think he'd get Gree and Appo mixed up. Quote
Mr Man Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Yeah, but I was referring to only those in the 501st. I didn't think he'd get Gree and Appo mixed up. Oh I thought you just meant green visors in general . Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Dammit, just looked at my picture again, and I failed to notice the first time that I was looking at a Jet Trooper. The stripe is correct, for a Jet Trooper, so treat it as such. I'll edit my post, and add the jetpack and black lines to a new version. Sorry for the confusion! Though why a Jet Trooper would come up in a Google Images search for Commander Appo I have no idea. What I'm going to do for Appo is take my Dogma and fill out the stripe, since that would technically be correct. Then I'm going to paste the Jet Trooper body over top of Dogma's body, so that the body markings will be right. Then, voila! Appo will be done. Edited November 23, 2011 by Darth Nihilus Quote
ADHO15 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 I'm confused as to what you mean by 'stripe'. I assume you mean the torso pattern, though I wouldn't call that a stripe. Just take note of what I said and you'll get a thumbs up from me. It took a few hours to get these first two right, but I like how they turned out... Added: ARC-170 Pilot - (Phase I - Clone Trooper Types) Stealth Ship Pilot - (Phase I - Stealth Ship Group) Clone Pilot - (Phase II - Clone Trooper Types) Quote

The ARC-170 pilot and the stealth ship pilot's new armor looks amazing! Where is that phase 2 pilot from? Quote
ADHO15 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Well, all of that hard work paid off. The ARC-170 pilot and the stealth ship pilot's new armor looks amazing! Where is that phase 2 pilot from? Thank you very much, CTS! I hoped you'd like them. You could see him get shot down by an Umbaran in one of the new Z-95s in 'Plan Of Dissent', just after Fives, Hardcase and Jesse joined the battle. Quote

Mr Man Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 It took a few hours to get these first two right, but I like how they turned out... Absolutely fantastic ADHO, I'm working on the Stealth Pilot now as well as redoing my Phase II pilot to match better. Is the bottom clone the same as the Phase II clone SCUBA trooper? Quote

Just take note of what I said and you'll get a thumbs up from me. I meant the helmet stripe. Nice job on the ARC-170 pilot, I gave up on making him after the fifth attempt. The other two look great as well. By the way, I got some new reference and I'm redoing Rex for the fourth time. Now I'm adding all the different colors in his weld marks on his helmet, as well as taking away almost half the kill tallies on his helmet and putting more on his gloves. I'm not sure where I found the reference that has kill tallies on his lower arm plates, though. Seems like my reference images are really, really bad. No wonder I got all my 501st clones wrong. Quote

ADHO15 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Which episode was it again? It is the first episode of the arc. It's the third in the Umbara arc, actually. Absolutely fantastic ADHO, I'm working on the Stealth Pilot now as well as redoing my Phase II pilot to match better. Is the bottom clone the same as the Phase II clone SCUBA trooper? Thank you very much, Mr Man! No, the two are quite different. You'll see when I've made the new SCUBA trooper. Nice job on the ARC-170 pilot, I gave up on making him after the fifth attempt. Thanks a lot! If you use the official Rex designs on SW.com, you should be able to make a very accurate one. He doesn't have kill tallies on the front of his helmet, more round the sides. Quote
-JD- Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Omega is fantastic I really like his helmet printing. But more importantly how on Earth did you make the weapons? I really want to do that . I love them! Can you make one with pistols, like Rex has? Holy Sith!!!!! Those are some of the coolest looking clones I've ever seen!!! And I like the weapons too! (You should try a Z-6 rotary cannon(The one that Hevy uses)) Wow! Cheers lads! Yes, I will be making the other weapons. I've almost done Rex's pistol stance now! Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Wow! Cheers lads! Yes, I will be making the other weapons. I've almost done Rex's pistol stance now! Yay! Luckily for me, I just finished Rex, with better reference. (Picture is link to Flickr page): Quote
-JD- Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Well, looks like my good friend ADHO beat me to it using my plain template! Here is my Phase II template sheet: And ADHO's Phase I, Phase I.5, and Rex sheets: I also quickly added a Rex without a visor but with pistols: Enjoy them guys! Mr Man Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Here is my set of Pilot and Engineer heads, I just need to make a cloth body for them all (except some which use the standard armour. What does everybody think before I finish them, accuracy, queries etc. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Really good Jammiedodger! I quickly made three types of camo with the templates, here they are: (Again, pic is link to FLickr page.) EDIT: Nice helmets, Mr. Man! Edited November 23, 2011 by Darth Nihilus Quote
Mr Man Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 EDIT: Nice helmets, Mr. Man! Thanks Darth Nihilus . Here's the full pilot template I'm going to start from. Quote

ADHO15 Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 (edited) Nice work, Darth! Great pilots, Mr Man! I noticed the ARC-170 pilot has a different body, but I guess that's not too important. Amazing commandos, Grenade! They look terrific! Why the change in eye colour? How would that work? Edited November 25, 2011 by ADHO15 Quote
CC-0666Grenade Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Amazing commandos, Grenade! They look terrific! Why the change in eye colour? How would that work? I got the idea from the Republic Commando books when Null-class ARC Trooper N-7, Mereel, dyed his eyes blue. TCW also has a few clone troopers that have changed their eye colors, like Boil and Slick Quote
Dpaduwan Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Hello all! Sorru I kind of fell off for a while, my computer broke and I had to get a new one. Excellent work on everything everybody, and Grenade those commandos are absolutely spectacular! Quote

Grenade lets only the best of Shadow Company become troopers of Vengeance Squad, because he always sends Vengeance on the most dangerous missions. Appo will often lead Vengeance Squad. All Vengeance Squad troopers are trained in ARC skills by Appo. Except for Doc, who keeps his phase 1 helmet because he likes it more than the phase 2 helmet, the clones that do not have phase 2 armor are troopers that died before the 315th switched over to the phase 2 armor. And one more CL-9624 Fang, he leads 9th Platoon, which is Shadow Company's Recon unit. Edited November 26, 2011 by CC-0666Grenade Quote
