thanks for putting this up . I also got an pm from that guy.

Why have people been attacking eurobricks lately , first we got the starwars link witch led to pretty daisy , then the kid came back once again posting porn , and now this :hmpf: .

Do you guys think he's targeting members for some reason

Uh I don't think sending him lego pretty daisy would make him stop , might make him happy though

I was acctually thinking more along the lines of some prelim pics of some new meg bl@ks sets

Well I did get a PM by a user who apparently is banned now. He sent me a link to porn(or that is what he says).

Obviously I didn't click it, but that was weird.

Yes I think his name was pinupka. I got KimT to ban him. You now all thank us, send your checks to....

It's the price of popularity... :sceptic:

Thats true, we have been more popular lately. I remember when only 70 or so people we browsing, and now we have like, 500.

Yes, I joined in Februray of '08, and the site has nearly doubled in terms of member-base since then. Its both a blessing and a curse. :sceptic:

I got a message today from a user named "pinupka" with a message of simply "best xxx" and a link. I obviously did not click it, and had a feeling of what it would be. As I use a computer in a room with young children, I find it irritating that I can not know when a link is safe or not.

Also, the other day I received a PM with a link to a new user's eBay auction. They did not even have one post.

I noticed that pinupka has been banned, but that 's not specifically the point of this topic.

I understand the staff work really hard to keep this board running smoothly, but if it would be possible to create some new rules regarding new users, it would be much appreciated. Some of these changes could include-

-No private messages until they have reached at least 50+ posts

-No posting links until they have reached a certain number of posts. Maybe 25, I think 50 is pushing it.

I really love this board and community, its just I would hate to see it go down with immature creeps who think this stuff is funny. I know many of you are all good people, and its a shame that we should all have to deal with punks like this. I am in no way complaining about how this site is run, I just thought I would suggest some ways to make it a little better. Thank you to the staff for all you already do. :classic:

Thank you,

I've mergerd the three topics on this same issue into one. Please don't create any more...

This is not a local EB issue. Sad to say, this is an internet wide problem. Just the same, we do our best to combat it here.

Something similar is being discussed. It may or may not happen. 10 posts seems more reasonable to me. On a similar issue, the PM system is either on or off. The setting we have is "Can use PM system"; there's no "Can PM only staff".

Sorry, this can't be done. It may sound simple, but it's not.

Please no more nagging on this issue. We're doing our best and while EB is not a democracy, we do try to discuss important changes with all the staff. Thus creating more topic won't make this happen any faster...

That's weird because I haven't gotten any bad links at all. :sceptic: I'm a Count, which is quite a high rank and people with lower ranks like Vassals and Citizens are getting this message. Thank god I haven't gotten any bad PM's although I think this thread might actually encourage them....... :hmpf_bad:

It kinda makes me think that they're targeting newer members. Maybe we just think that they are stupid or "n00bs" and will be more likely to click on their links. Whatever it is, it just seems like some crazy person's type of funny joke :sceptic: .

I dont think these people are being malicious just to repel people. They just want to wreak havoc on the site and in the words of Alfred "watch the world burn"

In most cases it's all about money. Chances are that link installs a program that turns your computer into a spam-relay.

If any of you clicked that PM link from "pinupka", I would recommend that you do a virus scan or something...you don't know what might have been in that link... :sceptic:

No, of course I didn't click the link (I always check the link at that status bar at the bottom of the browser).
