Ras 74 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 DarthSion:I see you are really into the cartoon series CW. I like the CW as well. I really think it has been way better then I expected. Though it has alot of childish in it, but still it is great I can´t really wait to see what the "Live" thing will be about. But I am worried if they can keep the pace of the cartoon. ´Cause it has all that you say with action and so on. You seem to be a good guy for us other SW fans. Don´t bach yourself against other members, it will lead to the Dark Side Everyone has the right to have their own oppinon. Even if it is all about liking Star Trek even Thanks for the links DarthSion. -Ras- Quote
DarthSion Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) Well one can hope, so long as they stick to what they are doing things will be fine, there has already been 100 episodes prepared for CW and i believe as many for TLAS and both may run up to 400. The thing is most tv shows don't stay at the same quality each season, bsg is the first that comes to mind god knows what they were thinking, sg1 was good the first few years till RDA phoned it in, and then TSCC which in part was due to the tards at fox. Then again, reaper has so far managed to stay great, and apart from the abysmal final the shield managed to stay good across all seasons, as did oz. It will have a up hill battle to get the first season off the ground, with the way most die hard fans not liking CW, but I'm sure CW and TLAS will both get full runs even if George has to start his own TV channel. If only LA would give us all the movies on blu-ray. Edited March 13, 2009 by DarthSion Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 The only people who don't like clone wars are the ones with the special edition OT dvd collection, white stain soaked princess Leia poster and a Han Solo custom in the corner of their basement/bedroom.What makes a good TV show, it has action, emotions, good stories, story arcs, humour, character development, no fillers, good acting, high standard from one episode to the next. Name one of those things the clone wars doesn't have, if the live action has half those things it will still be better than 99% of the crap out there. It has good action. Emotions? Not at all. It doens't matter if their mad or happy. Its hard to make out what these guys(especaily the clones) . Humor? Corny. But thats ok. Your right, it is aimed at kids so i don't expect anything ground breaking. And evenif it wasn't,its notlike the orignal starwars humor wasall that original. Character development? Meh. Good acting? Hardly. Again, its not a bad series, but its not the ground breaking ciniema that your making it out to be. I will strongly suggest EVERYONE in this topic, which include the topic creator, DarthSion to calm down and stop making posts which is totally irrelevant to the nature of this topic or adding posts that is no value to this discussion... I will make this very clear, stay on topic right now! Calm down? I don't see anyone getting out of line. So what if some people are pasionate about shows they watch? I haven't seen anyone be disrespectfull, just giving their opinions. What posts have been irrelevant? Looking back everything has been related to the topic at hand. Quote

I can't say I find this respectfull; The only people who don't like clone wars are the ones with the special edition OT dvd collection, white stain soaked princess Leia poster and a Han Solo custom in the corner of their basement/bedroom. Honestly, that's just rude. Quote
DarthSion Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) Your on your own 5150, i have already had mods on me for spelling and grammar and now for comments that some seem to offended by in this thread, i ain't going to push it. And no I'm not going to reply to your CW comment as I'm taking heed of the stay on topic comment from the mod. Back to the topic. I wonder who will be the main characters in this as it is not supposed to be anyone from the movies, and not nessecerily TFU either I wonder which way they will go, like SG1 and SGU a well known lead and mostly unknown, or like SGA and all unknown. I hope in either show we get to see Kota. I wonder who will play Boba. Edited March 14, 2009 by DarthSion Quote

Thanks! On topic, I'm glad that Boba Fett is planned to be a character. I doubt he will be major though. Ultimatly this is the series that will either end Star Wars or take it beyond the original Skywalker story. I'm really looking forward to it. I love the Clone Wars series (the only other TV show I watch is Code Geass) and I think it's rounded out the PT movies nicely. Quote
DarthSion Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 Why do you think it will end it?. Its only rumours, but i read a while ago LA wants to do a tv based around NJO (new jedi order, after the end of 6:RotJ) Quote
I Scream Clone Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Early in development, LA had mentioned that the actor,Daniel Logan, who played young Boba in Episode II would reprise the role, and that the whole series would be strongly based around Boba Fett. Good to see he has grown up a little too, all the better for a menacing bounty hunter Quote

Now I really can't wait for this show! I don't know much of his acting career, but I really hope he'll do better than: "Get him, dad! FIYAH!" Quote
Siegfried Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Why do you think it will end it?. To me Star Wars needs to get past it's roots. Star Trek had a similar issue, and survived when they produced The Next Generation. I think the Skywalker story has been pushed too far, but I also think there are a lot of sub-stories that would be good to tell/re-tell. The question is; does the world want Star Wars without loads of Jedis? If the answer is no then I think Star Wars could fade away. I heard about the New Jedi Order rumor... but the story never interested me much. I've also heard about a possible Sith story/movie. Quote
DarthSion Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 Well if Boba is going to be the main character in the tv show then it should do well, but then how many bounty hunter stories can they tell. Yes thats what they should do, something around the Sith Wars time. Quote
Siegfried Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Well if Boba is going to be the main character in the tv show then it should do well, but then how many bounty hunter stories can they tell. Well there are a lot of bounty hunters, and many have a back story. Dengar for example has strong links to Han Solo. Boba also has a history with Solo... I agree the Sith story has potential... but there's a lot that I don't like. The whole "There's never more that two" in particular. Quote
Tyrant Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Well there are a lot of bounty hunters, and many have a back story. Dengar for example has strong links to Han Solo. Boba also has a history with Solo...I agree the Sith story has potential... but there's a lot that I don't like. The whole "There's never more that two" in particular. Part of the issue will be how fiathful to existing EU material they intend to be. I'm not personally too clear on any specifics on Fett during this time period (though I assume there are stories). I think the issue may be other characters. Though if they stick with mostly unknowns that might not be a problem. I do wonder how much back ground name dropping with potentially no payoff there will be. As for the Sith, that will depend on if they stick to the EU also. The rule of two came about with Darth Bane, about 1000 years before ANH. Before that, there were legions of Sith at some points. Heck, after Palpatine (and Lumiya) the Sith go back to the whole army approach under Darth Krayt. The only thing relating to that I heard at one point was discussion of a movie (or trilogy, I suppose) covering the initial schism within the Jedi Order when the drak siders were driven out and conquered the Sith (thus becoming, lords of the Sith, or Sith Lords). But that was a while ago and I honestly don't remember the source (though at the time I thought it was legit). As for how many stories about a bounty hunter can there be, lots. It's a fairly formulaic plot set up. It's a great reason to have a single central character (or possibly a very small number of secondary characters) who travels from place to place fighting people on a weekly basis. The galaxy's a big place, so there are lots of places he could go and lots of people who need to be captured (or killed, as the case may be). All we need is some reason to care about the main character (Fett, in this case) and the possibilities are endless (though the plot structure won't change much over time, in all likelyhood). To spice it up from time to time he can clash with Imperials, pirates, and the beginings of the Rebellion as the plot warrants. Quote
Oky Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Don't forget, though, that there are a lot of dark jedi and wanna-be siths like Ventress. Quote
