March 11, 200916 yr Good Lord! That thing is ginormous! Hopefully you have enough bricks to finish it, you probably would be surprised. If worse comes to worse, I suppose you could take some off of the back... Can't wait to see updates.
March 11, 200916 yr ACCLAMATOR! I was hoping someone would start one of these. The frame looks promising and huge I can't wait to see how you will pull this off.
March 11, 200916 yr Oh my dear sweet barrel of sugar! That things in incredible! So much interior space! You can practically put an AT-TE or two there! I really can't was for the final!
March 11, 200916 yr A little something he says.... That looks promising Aaron, good work on the frame. Did you get plans or dimensions of the real thing before you got started? Good luck with it!
March 11, 200916 yr Wow! That's almost minifig scale! Looks promissing. Quite a big project, though. If you succeed with it, I'll be very impressed!
March 12, 200916 yr Author Mostly got the dimensions from pics on line and EaW. The hardest problem with something this size is keeping structural integrity. I've only used up 1/4 to 1/5 of my technic dark bley girders. We've already moved it off the kitchen table anddown to the Lego Room in the double garage before my wife got too mad at us. It was fairly sturdy after we added another 3 rows of "ribs" along the "keel" I'll post more pics on the weekend.
March 12, 200916 yr Finally somebody is making a Acclamator. The frame looks huge! Will you put your entire army in there when its finished? This is great so far Keep up the good work
March 12, 200916 yr Author yup, we have somewhere between 150-200 Storm/Clone Troopers, it should be well staffed.
March 12, 200916 yr Looks like you're building the 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer, which starts out with the construction of 2 huge 'A' frames back to back. Interested to see how your ship turns out. 10030 is notoriously fragile, so hopefully you can avoid this problem without making the whole thing weigh about 10 tons ! Dr. D.

Dr. D. I'm pretty sure it's WAY bigger than the star destroyer set.
March 12, 200916 yr Wow that looks great so far. This is a great progect you are taking on. I will have to watch out for updates. Also you should definatly make an inside for it. You could get a whole huge minifig scale hanger bay in there. Anyway good job so far.
March 12, 200916 yr I think it's too soon to form an opinion. You will need a lot of bricks to complete it if it's going to be that size, but it looks interesting. Keep us posted
March 12, 200916 yr Wow! That's almost minifig scale! Looks promissing. Quite a big project, though. If you succeed with it, I'll be very impressed! minifig scale would be 4x that size. This right now is pretty big. I'm surprised it fits on the table. Can't wait to see the final product
March 12, 200916 yr When it is finished, what color scheme is it going to be? Straight up grey, or the red-striped open circle fleet colors like we have been seeing in the Clone Wars TV show?
March 13, 200916 yr Author I was planning on doing it in all Light Grey but I've just been informed by my 7 year old that it will be like the one in The Clone Wars.
March 13, 200915 yr Wow, thats a strudy looking construction Now, the question of the day, do you have enough bricks for the rest? Your box of lego is going to look like this --> :skull:
March 13, 200915 yr wow thats so ginormous! I would really like to see some pictures of how far you have progressed. I hope you are able to finish it. :cry_happy:
March 13, 200915 yr I'm pretty sure it's WAY bigger than the star destroyer set. 10030 is a meter long, so it's unlikely to be much bigger......! If it does turn out to be bigger, however, and pieces are added for stability (rather than relying on magnets), you will need a crane to lift it ! Dr. D. Edited March 13, 200915 yr by drdavewatford
March 14, 200915 yr 10030 is a meter long, so it's unlikely to be much bigger......!If it does turn out to be bigger, however, and pieces are added for stability (rather than relying on magnets), you will need a crane to lift it ! Dr. D. Well, its nearly as long as his kitchen table, which seats six, and so is probably longer than a meter. just saying. Perhaps the builder can confirm/debunk this?
March 15, 200915 yr I cannot wait to see how all of the pieces will go together with the frame. It will be interesting to see how you build the engines and such. There is no using wheels as engines on this project.
March 15, 200915 yr Author Its currently a shade over 5 feet (1.6m) and will be slightly longer once the "tail fin" thats sticks out past the engines is put on.
March 15, 200915 yr I was planning on doing it in all Light Grey but I've just been informed by my 7 year old that it will be like the one in The Clone Wars. Is that the one with the red markings and open circle thingy insignia like in one of the recent CW episodes? Good work with this I can't wait to see it finished. Will it have opening doors to deploy troops and vehicles?
March 15, 200915 yr Its currently a shade over 5 feet (1.6m) and will be slightly longer once the "tail fin" thats sticks out past the engines is put on. That's around what I expected. How are you progressing with this? I'd love to see it finished, lets just hope you don't run out of bricks. Also, how do you go about designing something like this? Do you draw it out beforehand or just think as you go? Either way, I'm anticipating the final ship!
