March 13, 200915 yr Looks good, I love what you've done with the paddle and the details are impressive. This is exactly what I wanted to see for the contest entries!
March 13, 200915 yr The quality of the images isn't that bad (way better than my photo-skills ), could be slightly better, but it is not detracting from the moc. Possible improvement points: Not much to say here. Maybe the contrast between the floor and treasure chest could be a little better, but that's it. Good points: 1. Very nice to look at, good composition. 2. Creative part-usage, like the crate used in the cabinet and the doors used as a wall. 3. It is based on a real cabin/story.
March 13, 200915 yr Lovely entry Majek, the image quality is just fine. It's small, but it packs a great amount of detail into that space. I'm not completely sure what the cabinet-like thing is on the right, but I think the usage of the crate piece is excellent. As far as I can tell, it looks like you used brown doors like the ones used in the Dwarves Mine in some parts of the wall, which I think is a brilliant idea. Thy provide some great texture to the wall. Lastly, that little plant caps the whole thing off with a cute touch. Some improvement ideas: 1) I always feel that a MOC needs to have some sort of a minifigure to really come alive. Adding a captain character would be a nice touch. 2) The black treasure chest blends in a bit too much with the floor. If you have a brown one I think that would be better suited for the spot. =========================================================== Excellent entry all around, certainly one of the best so far. Good work and good luck!
March 13, 200915 yr I really like this entry. Things which could be improved: As said above, the black chest blends in too much with the floor. Change the colour from the floor or the chest would be great. Adding a minifig in it! A custom decal would be a perfect idea. Things I like: The details all over the entry. They are very nicely executed, the lantern for example. The usage of the doors in the wall. It looks really nice and it adds the 'ship' feeling to it. The windows, a nice technique is used here. With a nice result. A big from me so far!
March 13, 200915 yr That looks really proffesional. Great job! I actually didn't see the treasure chest at first, as it blended in with the ground. Lol.
March 13, 200915 yr Author Thanks guys! The black chest is probably the worst part. I will improve it.
March 18, 200915 yr Great work! I like the whole thing! The use of doors as walls is excellent also I like the lantern. The windows and SNOT work around them are fantastic! Maybe add a minifig? Also lower decks? Puriri de Vry
March 19, 200915 yr Nice entry ! I love the wooden wall at the back, and the fact that it seems to be historically accurate^^ great job!
March 21, 200915 yr Nice wip so far with nice details... Maybe if you have the time you could add a second level (above or under). And maybe use a mini figure... always gives a extra touch. But it's still in WIP fase so I looking forward to the end result. Good luck !!! Edited March 21, 200915 yr by Capt. Kirk
March 28, 200915 yr Yeah I like it too, although it would be more lively if you had put a minifigure in it. A compass on the crate-table would be a nice idea too. But your improvements are nicely done. I like it.
March 29, 200915 yr The brown crate is definately an improverment over the black treasure chest, good result. I really like the shadow effect at the bottom of the MOC. *O NoEs, it's the floating chamber of doom!* Didn't even notice it until you mentioned it, but it does look good.
March 29, 200915 yr A good but small entry. WHAT I LIKE 1.The weapons and the map on the wall look great. 2.The windows look good too. POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS 1.The pillow on the bed doesn't look good, I would use something else. 2.There needs to be a minifig. 3.Even though it looks better than before, there should be some more color adjustments. Good Job and Good Luck
April 1, 200915 yr Author Thanks for all the nice comments and suggestions. O NoEs, it's the floating chamber of doom ~Majek
