I voted for the Redcoats.

I like them all, actually, but there is just something about the Redcoats which makes them better.

Thanks for the poll! :pir_laugh2:

I voted bluecoats - I don't even have any redcoats I think, and the Armada guys are really not my type - I'm so psyched that LEGO has returned to the best kind of Pirate/Soldier/Imperial-style instead of all that Islander and Armada stuff

I like them all 3, but the spaniards are probably my favourites, despite only owning 6 of them :pir-cry_sad: (4 soldiers, 1 red admiral/commander/whatever and 1 green admiral/commander/whatever).

It's got to be the British Redcoats. Then again, it is really only because I'm British. Then again the Redcoats were an amazing army.

I finally made up my mind: Bluecoats (although the new Redcoat torsos are really nice too). For me it isn't really about Britain vs. France, I just prefer the whole look (including the fleur-de-lis flags) of the Bluecoat faction.

I already have a nice idea for a Bluecoat sigfig...

(btw: why is this thread bumped via classic-pirates.com?)

Bluecoats first, Redcoats second, Armada third!

Although I like the shiny armour of the Armada Captain.

Bluecoats rule!

Plus they are inherently French.

(Well to be honest I simply always had more of them, hence it was cheaper for me to concentrate on blues for my army and marines.)

I love the new redcoats, and they look great lined up. Currently, I'm trying to make a small army of them.

Actually I'd dub this as an "evergreen" topic. (Thanks LEGO Group for that word :pir-classic: )

A favourite Imperial Faction is not a time sensitive discussion so its better to bump an old thread than create an duplicate.

There sevreal threads like this I need to someday collate and categorise...

Ofcourse im a recoat. I would be a Blue coat but hey are already a History and Redcoats did come earlier, and now they are making comeback :pir-classic: And Redcoats have a great history, and we have Joey and Hornbricker too :pir_laugh2: Theres enough reasons why you have to be a Redcoat

If LEGO made them, I would like the greencoats (Hessian Soldiers). But, the bluecoats are great, too. They remind me of circa 1776 Soldiers of the Continental Army.

I voted for armada! Spanish Rule! Then Bluecoats, then red. The conquistador helmets are so cool! If you doubt I voted for armada, look at my signature. :pir_laugh2:

Red Coats. They were the marines. The ones with muskets; sharpshooters.

I have reds and blues in my collection. But green, not yet.

Still looking for a ship. Perhaps a boat as a start.

I personally find the whole bluecoats/redcoats thing a little bewildering... is it just about what your favourite colour is, or is there more to it than that? My favourite colour is purple... does that mean I should like a cross between bluecoats and redcoats?

The Spanish have nice helmets, but I prefer the shakos and tricorns and bicorns, I think they fit in better with the 'pirates' theme... but other than that, I have no real preference between blue and red.

I think if I had to choose between blue and red, I'd go with red, because that's what they wear in that Hornblower episode 'The Frogs and The Lobsters'.

Red it is then.

Typically I am a fan of the Prussian blue colour (much like the uniform colour of the new Admiral), but nonetheless I gave my vote for the good old bluecoats. In my opinion they are classic, they have the best fortresses and have the best evolution as a 'good' faction. Only their similar faces are a bit of a problem but you can just change them with new ones.

My second favourite are the masters of the New World, i.e. the Spaniards, in spite of their shortage of models.
