Derek Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Jango Fett's Slave 1 when it was discounted @ K-Mart for $25. I bet someone is kicking themself. I also regret not buying the 2004 Falcon when it was half price at Target a few years ago on Black Friday. Quote
drdavewatford Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Excellent thread. The good news for all of you who have regrets is that almost all of the sets listed in this thread can still be bought, many of them for little more than the original price. You just have to look around. I'm surprised how many supposedly "rare" sets I've managed to pick up for reasonable prices on eBay recently, for example, many of them still sealed in their boxes. Some on Kim's "wanted" list are a little tricky - Yoda can be picked up for 70-80 pounds, but Darth Maul is tricky to find. Older UCS sets like the TIE Interceptor, Y-Wing, Blockade Runner, Snowspeeder and Y-Wing also don't come up for sale that often in good condition with their boxes, although they can definitely be bought - I know as I've been on a quest to pick all these up over the past 6 months and they come up for sale now and again. Not cheap, though - luckily I bought the UCS X-Wing when it was released, but the Blockade Runner was painfully expensive (though worth it !!) Still looking for the 4504 MF and a few others, but they can all be secured for a price, so no need for regrets ! Cheers, Dr. D. Quote
Filip Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I was going to buy both Jabba's Palace and Mos Eisley Cantina, but the stores didn't have any of them . It sucks a lot, because both of these sets has some really rare minifigs which I would love to have in my collection. Quote
KimT Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 the first AT-AT Got me two of those back then. One was on sale Quote
Bricklanta Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I regret not buying the Imperial Shuttle that came out around the time of ROTS, Geonosian Starfighter, and the gungan patrol. Quote
Rocky Raccoon Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I regret not getting the cloud city set. The printed boba was cool and I needed a vader and lando. Quote
Rijkvv Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 -4483 Imperial AT-AT. This set started my interest in Star Wars (shortly thereafter I had to see EPII ) -6209 Slave I. I found Boba Fett one of the most interesting people of Star Wars. When I saw LEGO was going to release a new version of his ship, I had to get it. Unfortunately, I was in my dark ages back then, and doubted to buy LEGO when I almost never did something with it. -And when it will be sold out: most likely 10179 Ultimate Millennium Falcon. But I think it's expensive, and I can buy a lot more cheaper sets with the money. Quote
Zzz Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 - 6209 Slave One (It didn't do it for me, not even for 50€ on sale - now I learned to like it!) - Cantina (terrible set, overpriced - now I miss a Dewback! and Greedo...) that's for me, and I guess there is no chance to get them for a good price.. interesting topic! JimBee Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 7665 Republic Cruiser. I was darn sure that it would turn up in a local store... but I bet wrong. But I'm working on getting it now! I regret not buying all of the Minifig packs 3340, 3341, 3342 and 3343 and persuading myself that the sculptures of Yoda and Darth Maul weren't "real" Star Wars LEGO.Plus ignoring Watto's Junkyard and Gungan Sub was also bad... they're both around 60-100 USD in MISB condition now. Other than that I've got every single set ever made Wow... I've always wondered how completed your collection was. Do you have all of the Technic sets? I, too regret not getting the Minifig packs. I still don't have a Sideous minifig... Other sets that I wish I had gotten when I had the chance are Jedi Defense I and II, Bounty Hunter Pursuit, and Jedi Duel (Dooku and Yoda). I'm sure that I'll regret not getting the Death Star Playset, too... Quote
Skipper 24 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I am kicking my self so hard that I never picked up 7662 MTT. I guess I really never had the money to get it since I got my Motorized AT-AT instead. Quote

smokebelch Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Always regret not picking up the original AT-AT. Looked at it so many times in the shop, but the lego Star Wars bug had not hit me yet then. When i finally decided to try and find one, it was gone. I know there's always bricklink/ebay etc. but i've purchased all my sets at retail and kinda begrudge paying the amounts that it goes for now. Skinny Boy Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 (edited) Original MTT. Spent so long saving up for it, then it was gone! Like the wind... Edited April 9, 2009 by Skinny Boy Quote
starwarsfanatic Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Definitely the Imperial Landing Craft. I remember seeing it in the store and thinking I wouldn't bother. Quote
Mission Commander Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 A MISB imperial star destroyer for $60 Quote
Torax Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I regret buying every set that I don't own. Mostly the first 1999 sets, of which I only have a few. I love the early designs, and they have sentimental value to me. Also, the minifig packs were such good army builders. I didn't buy any of them. I also regret not being into LEGO Star Wars last year. I missed all the Battle Packs. Quote
LEGOscum Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 The UCS line from when it originally came out. I only started with it when the CLoud City set was released and I had to work back from there. A couple of lucky finds netted me a MISB Yoda, Maul and RBR for retail in 2006, when I was also in the US for a holiday so I picked up Vader's TIE and the AT-ST. But I'm still trying to find the UCS X-Wing for a reasonable price. Quote
Destroydacre Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 As many have said, this is a great topic. The set I really regret not getting the most is Hoth Base, but only because it retailed for $50 and I just bought it a couple weeks ago for $90. Many go for over $100. Who knew the price would rise so much? To be honest I have most of the Star Wars lego sets. I missed out on the UCS Tie interceptor and X wings because they didn't come with any figures. I wouldn't say I really regret missing out on those, but they would be cool to have. Quote
