legocylon Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Hi The title is pretty self explanatory. Sorry if this has already been discussed and resolved! Cheers Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 At this point, none that we know of. There is supposed to be a game planned but no sets. No too mad about this, apart that i liked the structural aspects for the sets. Quote

I dont agree with that, they could release events that only happen in that book per year of the moive. But then, 1. it would be too costly for the license for a few sets, 2. not enough sets. Quote

Supposedly TLG just feel that everything left wouldn't make a good/profitable set. Since I've bought all of my Harry Potter sets on a steep sale I tend to agree. Quote
Izzy Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Are there any Harry Potter sets available in Aus that anyone knows of? I've got The Castle (5378), Knight Bus and Durmstrang Ship but am looking for anything else. . . it seems to have disappeared completely off the internet. Quote

As for seeing more HP-sets, I think it's just wishful thinking. The later books and movies aren't exactly "kiddy" material anymore, although they do contain many scenes that would make awesome MOCs. Go Cubs Go! Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I don't know about other people but I think TLC should bring the Harry Potter theme back. With the release of the new movie a few days ago you would think that they would certaintly have enough set ideas. It had never come across my mind to by any sets while they were still on the shelfs of every toy store, so I can't really rate what the sets were like. I do know the last of the sets were made for HP5, but that was like 2-3 years ago . I hope others of you agree with me. Thanks for reading! From, Go Cubs Go! Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 First off, this should be in the "Licensed" sub-forum. Second, I don't think it should, what with all the licenses LEGO is going to have for the next few years, Star Wars, Disney, Ben 10, Indiana Jones, etc. and I think it's just too much. The theme died in a dark, damp, corner, all alone with only one set, the third edition of Hogwarts castle. I think they should have stopped at Goblet of Fire, it would have been better. Quote
Matn Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 There have been a few topics about this already in the Licenses board. Maybe it is possible for a moderator to merge them this one and the other one together? And no, it wouldn't have been better to stop the line with the Goblet of Fire movie. If so, we could have never seen the magnificent new Snape and Umbridge head. And that hairpiece. Anyway, LEGO should have never stopped producing LEGO Harry Potter. But I'm still glad there's going to me some new LEGO Harry Potter games. It makes things even, you know. Quote

Darth Legolas Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) The Harry Potter Lego line went out with a bang. That final Hogwarts Castle set was simply beautiful! Amazing minifigures and a miles spread of intricate parts! Lego decreased in Harry Potter sets more and more though, as the characters got older and less... kid friendly. There's no chance of seeing any this year though, and there's slim chance of any ever again. Edited July 19, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
Go Cubs Go! Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I think TLC should have never stopped creating potter sets in the first place. From, Go Cubs Go! Quote
The Nightwing Reborn Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I'm still crossing my fingers for any Harry Potter sets in the future. Just watched OotP and wish they made that final wand duel into a set. I haven't seen or read Half Blood Prince, but from the trailer alone I could see some sets ideas I'd love. I'm hoping that if the game sells well, they will make some sets (maybe do something like have sets from all books?). Quote
SWMAN Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I am think that the fact that they are coming out with a Lego HP game could be a precursor for new sets. However, considering that the last two movies are coming out in 2010 and 2011 and that for the Half-Blood Prince no sets were released and only one for Order of the Phoenix probably means that there won't be any new sets. Darth Legolas Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 There are gonna be two more movies? Yup, Harry Potter 7-1 and Harry Potter 7-2. Some people say it's because the book's too long. Others (me,) say that producers are just money hungry! Quote
Derek Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Some people say it's because the book's too long. Others (me,) say that producers are just money hungry! The book isn't too long, it just has so much essential material that couldn't be left out, and wouldn't fit in a 2 and 1/2 hour movie. It's really a shame we most likely won't get sets from it, because it is seriously the best book I've read in my life. Quote
gusmoore17 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I agree!! Maybe there are not too many set-ideas for OotP or HBP because practically the stories take part in Hogwarts, and we've had enough Hogwarts-based sets. But...what about a kind of Ministry of Magic or Department of Misteries sets...or a Cave-like set...? And what about Deathly Hallows movies?! There are lots of places and scenes that would make great Lego sets!! I won't spoil any place but there lots of housing going on in this final chapter and action in those that really deserves a kick! Come on Lego, bring HP back for 2011!! Quote

While I can think of a few things that can be cut, the book has way too much that has to be included. Plus, they have to do the final battle justice. However, I also believe they want to milk the cow for all it's worth. Quote

It's two movies for exactly the same reason the Hobbit is two movies, and it's nothing to do with the length of the books. Quote

I completely disagree, there's not much in there that could be cut out and still have the same appeal for the overall movie. Quote
Izzy Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I think they are making it in two movies because because by the time they finally film the last one all the actors will look old enough to have kids of their own in the epilogue scene at the train station. Quote
