As the title says.

Does anyone here on Eurobricks a Table top War gamer (Warhammer, 40k ect.) or Tabletop RPG player (Dark heresy, Dungeons and Dragons ect.)

If so: What system(s) do you play and what armies you collect/characters you've created.

I play Warhammer 40k Orks and i'm thinking of starting Chaos Space Marines.

I also play DnD 3.5 and Dark heresy (creating character sheets atm.) I'm interested in a forum game with one of these, if there is enough interest we need a GM plus level one starting characters.

I collect/play Games Workshop Lord of the Rings Minatures. I primarily collect the forces of Isengard. I am more into painting them than playing the actual game although I have played the once of twice with friends.

EDIT: Some extra info, so far I haven't painted many figures but I have painted Uruk-Hai scouts (swords and bows), Troll Chieftain (sword), Fighting Uruk-Hai (Swords and Pikes) and Warg riders (swords, spears, bows). I am not sure about numbers but I will count them up some time.

I have a small LotR force as well, although mainly moria goblins, i have some Uruk hai scouts as well.

This site might interest you, and i'd love to see pics as well :)

Thanks but I had already visited that site before  . I forgot to mention I got a pack of 6 metal miniatures from a friend who didn't want them. I don't know which faction they belong too but the product name is 'Sisters of Battle squad'. They look sort of Gothic. I'll take some pics when I take some for my contest entry/ies in the current running Star Wars contest.

I play tyranids for 40k, but i like SM and CSM too, plus I have a very small Uruk-ai army for LOTR. I sadly havent really worked on them recently, hopefully i will find the time over spring break. However, 40k has it's own topic.

I occasionally play some historical wargames. I have two Feudal Japanese armies, Napoleonic Russian, Polish, and French troops, and an army of Achamenid Persians.

I play Necrons for 40K, Vampire Counts for FB. ) :classic:

Sisters of battle are a 40k army, "nuns with guns in the GRIMDARK future" is the best way to describe them. They're in Dawn Of War : Soulstorm

I play Necrons for 40K,

I have a 'cron force, but its on hold atm. I'm waiting for the codex to be updated.

I used to play Tau in 40k, but I then realized that I could probably recreate some of those designs in brick form.

I'm Playing Brikwars! Is Lego based wargame!

Here for more Info: http://www.brikwars.com/

Are you a member there? I am, by the same username.

Is FB Fantasy battles, or Warhammer (not 40k)

I dont play regular 40k, but I might do Vampire Counts or Tomb Kings if I did.

Necrons havent been updated in so long, yet they are still some of the best! I may not hold your breath waiting, but I dont see what else to do. (I once bought Codex: Space Marines, and it was announced the next week that they were making a new edition!:thumbdown: )

Do you play witchhunters (which often use sisters of battle) or do you play a SOB exlusive army?

Yes, they definitely need one. When, is this to happen, BTW? ) :sweet:

Yes, FB is Warhammer. As far as I know Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Warhammer 40,000 are simply official names. ) :classic::thumbup:

Be careful with undead armies, theu are quite hard to fight with. )

I meant that I dont play regular warhammer, not 40k. (oops!)

Anyway, I doubt I will be playing Fantasy anytime soon. Me and a friend are heading over to the local gamestore to split Assault on Black Reach, then to have a small 500 point skirmish. While I hope to be devouring some guardsman, my friend will be fielding a valkyrie, so... :sceptic:

Anyway, I am bringing a VenomFex, so I have a bit of anti-flying-things. Because assaulting them is almost impossible.

In other news, rumours for upcoming codexs are Daemons, Space Wolves, Necrons and Dark Eldar, then maybe Nids after that.

In more other news, The Black Library is holding a short story contest, for a book titled "Fear the Aliens", which I have to enter. I already have a very "unique" idea, which I cant hint on any more.

We’re pleased to announce this open call for Warhammer 40,000 short stories.

Over the next twelve weeks we’re inviting submissions for our new anthology, Fear The Alien. If you fancy yourself as a writer, or just love writing, this is a great chance to get your work in print for the first time.

The Stories

All stories need to be feature a Warhammer 40,000 alien race in some capacity.

All stories need to be set in current 40K universe. Sorry, no Horus Heresy stories!.

Orks as protagonists are not ruled out in this instance.

Please don’t write about existing fictional characters (eg, Uriel Ventris, Eisenhorn).

How to Submit

You must submit a synopsis of no more than 500 words along with a writing sample of between 500 and 1,000 words for consideration by the Black Library editors. If you don’t know what a synopsis is you’ll find a short description below.

Please note that there is a limit of two submissions per person, so make sure to send in your very best ideas.

What Happens Next

The submissions that show the most promise will go forward to a second stage where the selected authors will be asked to write a short story of around 7,000 words. The one story we deem worthy of publication after this stage will appear in Fear The Alien and the author will be paid for his or her work at the standard Black Library short story page rate as well as receiving three sample copies of the book.

Submissions will only be accepted through this online form and the deadline for synopses is Monday 27th July. No feedback will be given on unsuccessful submissions. Successful authors will be notified within eight weeks of this date and then given four weeks to turn their synopsis into a full manuscript. The successful author will then be chosen from these completed stories.

Synopsis

This is a succinct break down of your story, describing in brief what it’s about. Try to think of it as a film pitch – who the story the story is about, where it’s set (the setting) what your characters are doing and why (the set up) and who or what is trying to stop them (the conflict or confrontation). Some of the best short stories often have a twist, too, so try to work one in to your story (the conclusion).

Remember: keep it short and to the point. All we need is roughly what the story is about, not the whole thing!

Rules and regulations

Authors can submit a maximum of two stories.

Successful authors will be notified via email no later than eight weeks after the closing date. Unsuccessful authors will not be notified and any emails received by us enquiring about the status of submissions or asking for feedback on a specific submission will not receive a reply from BL Publishing or its representatives.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 27th July 2009.

Authors who successfully get through the first stage of the submissions process will be given a period of no more than four weeks to produce a manuscript of their short story.

Manuscripts accepted for publication will be paid for at the standard Black Library short story rate – 3 pence per published word. We will also supply you with three free copies of the anthology. All published stories become the property of Games Workshop Ltd. to use in any way they see fit.

Only submissions received through the proper submissions process (detailed above) will be considered. Any submission deemed incomplete, inappropriate and/or offensive will be disqualified.

We will not make any judgements based upon age, sex or level of writing experience. We are looking for great writing that is true to the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Submissions will not be returned.

All submissions must be in English.

The submissions process is not open to any author previously published by The Black Library.

I used to play some AD&D and RISK with friends, but it's been about a decade since I did that. I kinda miss those times.
