BlueBard Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Hello everybody! Here's the third building of the City display I'm preparing (just two new sets, a BL purchase and some exams-free time and I will post it to you finished ) : this time is AL's Italian Food. Enjoy! First floor. Al's himself! Wait a minute. I know the guy there. It's SkinnyBoy, isn't it? Second floor. Looks like local maffia is having a meeting with someone. It's AgentRick57! The rest of the shots can be seen here (when moderated) Comments are allways welcome. Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Looks great! Perhaps in the next one my avatar can be in it Quote
MetroiD Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Very nice MOC! Love the oven design :] It just occurred to me that unless Italy's in a state of war at that current time, the flag should actually be green-white-red... Quote
BlueBard Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 So fast! Thanks for the comments! Looks great! Perhaps in the next one my avatar can be in it Of course! Unfortunately I can't do your current one (don't have the tusken face... ) so if you post another one I'll try to build it It just occurred to me that unless Italy's in a state of war at that current time, the flag should actually be green-white-red... You're right... I'm very sorry about that. I don't use to commit that kind of errors (I've two italian pals who would kill me...), I suppose I was looking on the wrong way when I built the blind Sorry! Quote
MetroiD Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) How about using our avatar in one of your MOCs The flag thing is no big deal really and it doesn't spoil the overall coolness of the pizza parlour at all, don't worry :] Could I please steal your stove design? Won't be 1:1 since I'll be turning it into an oven (decorating the florist's apartment right now ;) ), but I totally love your idea about using that sunroof there... P.S.: Ditch that... tried it, but it's too big. Won't work. Lovely design tho. Edited March 29, 2009 by Asya & Bobby Otters Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Looking great so far BlueBard! I'm really loving the overall vibe, and my favourite little detail would have to be the napkin dispenser. I, for one, am not the biggest fan of the tree, but I'd be able to live with it. Can you include my sigfig in one of your next models? (I don't have pics up yet). Quote
AgentRick Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 It's AgentRick57! Good to know that people know I'm on the job. Hooray for simplistic Sigfigs! Quote
jifel Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Very nice MoC there, and you probably shouldnt put my sigfig in there. It would be very bad to put a Mechsuit in a restaraunt... jifel Quote

Ricecracker Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 oooooooo thats a napkin dispenser, good job on that It did take me a while to figure that one out. Quote
Skinny Boy Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) Sorry I didn't get to comment last night on this wonderful creation! I must say I love the oven, and the inclusion of me is very much appreciated And the Guinness crates upstairs? Brilliant. Which building will be next? Edited March 30, 2009 by Skinny Boy Quote
Darth_Legois Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) Hello everybody! Here's the third building of the City display I'm preparing (just two new sets, a BL purchase and some exams-free time and I will post it to you finished ) : this time is AL's Italian Food. Enjoy! Who's the guy on the right with the dark brown mutt hair? He looks exactly like my sigfig but yellow [and diffrent torso/legs] Nice I always thought of using that car sunroof piece as a oven but dont own any myself. But I love the kitchen and all the food and stuff..OH I love the design below the sign, it looks great, I've been thinking of making an Italian Cafe for ages I might have to steal...err borrow [Will give credit] Also maybe add another chef to help? Al looks alittle busy Could you add my sigfig to one of your MOC's? I think I posted in another thread what mine was.... [Dark Brown mutt hair, Fleshie/yellow luke skywalker head & police jacket torso and black pants] Edited March 30, 2009 by Darth_Legois Quote
BlueBard Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 Thanks everybody for your nice comments! About including more sig-figs it's ok, but it only left four more buildings and I think I'll run out of space but I can allways try so be free to post your sig-figs in this topic and I promise I'll do my best About the napkin dispenser I'm glad you guys like it. I was looking a way to build it and I suddenly had the idea looking at the similarity between napkins and those 1 x 2 with Door Rail Plates. Simplest ideas are allways the best! About the tree I knew it was not going to be very appreciated... It was a last minute detail. Have you any suggestions to improve it? (there are going to be four of them in the main MOC so it would be nice they look good) Unfortunately I don't have many bricks "tree-related" so I would have to use these same bricks... BTW, are those burger things even italian? Did you ever eaten a salami or a veal italian sandwich? Not all italian food is pizza and spaghetti. Sorry I didn't get to comment last night on this wonderful creation! I must say I love the oven, and the inclusion of me is very much appreciated And the Guinness crates upstairs? Brilliant.Which building will be next? Thanks Skinny Boy! I must admit I put the Guiness there with gangsters thinking at you! Next building will be a comic store or a yellow home, it depends on the sig-fig number I'll include Who's the guy on the right with the dark brown mutt hair? [Dark Brown mutt hair, Fleshie/yellow luke skywalker head & police jacket torso and black pants] Don't worry about your sig-fig, it's on the list! An you're right, Al's is a little busy but that's because the other chef had a free day Just joking, it's already purchased. Don't forget those are still "preliminary" models Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Absolutely fantastic BlueBard! What an outstanding creation. I really like this smaller sized Modular, not as large as the Green Grocer and Cafe Corner. The sign and the colors immediately catch my attention. The details inside are wonderful, esp. that back room with Mafia. This deserves a BLOG! Great gob and my favorite of your collection. Quote

Eilif Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Great Job Bluebard. This second incarnation of your town is a serious improvement over the original. I'm very impressed at how you have applied detail from every angle and side. Your oven is a thing of beauty that I will definitely be stealing. Quote

I'm happy a lot of you like the oven, in fact I got some inspiration from designs found on BS and I just improved it with the sunroof and the pipe. By the way I've been looking at some 7641 prelim pics and the Pizzeria has an oven strangely similar to mine... No offense TLC, I suppose it's an evident design! Quote
NicksBricks Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Wow! That's awesome i love the dtail you put in it. And the secret backroom for the mobsters ! Cool. Quote

samthelegoman1 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I love your little shops, Bluebard! I can't wait to see the next one Quote
Legostein Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Hello! The relatively little house is stuffed with life and details. That's what make a great scene. The kitchen is really busy looking, just as would imagine it for a fast-food restaurant. The idea to use the 1x1 brick with handle as fast food package is a great idea. The Mafia atmosphere on the second floor is realized very well. You can almost feel the suspicion in that room. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
BlueBard Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the nice comments, people Seems AL'S is becoming popular again! I love your little shops, Bluebard! I can't wait to see the next one Actually I have a Comic Shop, a Flower Shop and a little green cafe corner waiting for months in my table... The only problem is that every time I look at them I say "well, I suppose I can purchase some more bricks and add some more details" so it's allways a never-ending job. I'm waiting a last BL purchase for the end of this month and I promiss you I'll post them as soon as possible, and the final display too, of course. Hope you'll like them If someone's is interested or you haven't seen them yet I post some pics of the improvements I did for this MOC: Edited October 8, 2009 by BlueBard Quote
