The Alchemyst Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I told you I was going to use the Metus Helmet. :P Introducing, in the Left Corner, standing 8 and a quarter inches, tall, the lean, the mean, the wise, no lies... Certavus! [Pic links to gallery] After getting Metus, I fell in love with the backwards mask. The spikes up front give him an edgy character. Overall Body shot 3/4 Angle Nifty Life Counter function; turnable because of balljoint, held in place by the socket, it works! Ka-Blam! Height Comparison with Vorox. Shields, you can defend and then... Bam! And another one, right in the face! Sexy Triumphant Pose I'll just have some quick bullets for you guys to read, no long monologue, no sirree. - Battleshield, supposed to be from a large Animal he fought off to defend Iconox [You need smarts to beat something stronger and larger than you]. - Why a shield, when he said that the mind is better than a shield? Because it's a small shield. It's versatile, leading to different ways it can be used. - Lean and mean. Agility > Brute Strength and bulk for someone smart like Certavus. - Red Armor. Cause no one else was doing it, and plus, I saw it as some ceremonial special armor, [Champion for many times in the Atero Arena, and Champion of Iconox]. It looks spifftastic, no? A banner will be up soon, but in the meantime, criticism, what you think about this take, and its chances, etc. would help. Thanks! :3 [-The Alchemyst-] Quote
Wrinkledlion X Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Pretty good construction over all, but why are the arms so short? (And great helmet-choice.) Quote
Brickthing Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Although I love the nifty MOC itself, red and white just doesn't make sense for a Glatorian IMO. Great use of the Metus helm, although it looks a bit funny in the back picture. Quote

Thanks, and I don't think the arms are short, I tried to keep him proportionately accurate. [stand up, and your fists should come down to the middle of your thighs, like here] I guess it's relatviely short, compared to the recent sets. Although I love the nifty MOC itself, red and white just doesn't make sense for a Glatorian IMO.Great use of the Metus helm, although it looks a bit funny in the back picture. Can't argue with a color choice opinion like that. The Metus Helm doesn't look too bad in the back, except for the little holes. Thanks! [-The Alchemyst-] Quote
Matsuoka Nui Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Interesting color scheme.... it's probably because that I'm not quite used to white and red, but I like it!!! That was funny seeing the Vorox getting punched by him.... Quote
VBBN Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Finally someone puts the mask on backwards like I suggest. +) Althugh I do want to point out that someone else is using the red color scheme besides you. ;) Nice legs. Quote

I didn't notice that you suggested it. o.o It was the first thing I tried out with Metus. :3 And who else has the White and Red color scheme? D: Thanks, [-The Alchemyst-] Quote
Wrinkledlion X Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 The arms go as far down the legs as necessary, but that doesn't make the proportions correct. The shins should be shortened and the thighs should be lengthened. Or something. The proportions are definitely off, though. Your knees are where your hands should be, and your arms are much too short. Quote
Asuka Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 (edited) I like it! Great color scheme, nice helmet, well fitting proportions (guess these folks´re not so human anyways) and a very neat weaponry. Pretty cool, overall. Your knees are where your hands should be, and your arms are much too short. I guess I know what you mean, but this sentence made me feel pretty dizzy nevertheless... Maybe because you almost sound like my girlfriend... Edited April 2, 2009 by Asuka Quote

But if you pull the Certavus down so the feet match up, and not the shoulders, bam, everything fits. So proportionally correct, in terms of limbs, just not the torso? o.O?? I think if the torso was like a stud taller it would all fit . :D Thanks for the help though! I like it! I'm not sure if it's a good thing when your girlfriend says stuff like that. :P Thanks, glad you like it. [-The Alchemyst-] Quote
