Bored Robot Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) Greetings everyone, Here's my first MOC--modeled after Vader's Tie Advanced fighter. Hopefully my building and photography skills will improve! Edited April 16, 2009 by KimT Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Nice. What do you think of it being "nice"? I think it looks good because I how you used miniatured size TIE Fighter wings as the wings here. Also, the stabalisers and engines looks good also. Great imagination for making a Podracer Advaned Quote
Darth Legolas Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I love it, because even though it's a podracer it still perfectly resembles the TIE advanced! Very good job! Quote
Bored Robot Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 Thanks for the feedback and compliments. I made a lot of changes but I was sure I wanted Tie wings to be a main feature of the engines. I'm glad they don't have to be perfectly symmetrical to make sense. Quote
user Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 WOW! That is an exalent example of turning the pod from Racer revenge to LEGO form! Have you played that game because there is a pod-racer just like the one you built on there and it's piloted by Darth Vader himself. Quote
Bored Robot Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 Really?! And here I was all happy that I hadn't seen this idea anywhere before. I haven't played that game. I've only played the original Ep. 1 racer on N64. Oh well, ignorance is bliss as they say. Quote
Asuka Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 A very fine and pretty cool work indeed. Take a ride on the dark side of the Force on! Quote
The Who Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Really?! And here I was all happy that I hadn't seen this idea anywhere before. I haven't played that game. I've only played the original Ep. 1 racer on N64. Oh well, ignorance is bliss as they say. Racer Revenge is the first thing I thought of when seeing this. The game is a very good source for seeing picture of the podracers, if you wanted to build original ones from the Boonta Eve Classic. Quote
prateek Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 i like the tie wings and the cockpit circle radar dish thing Quote

RileyC Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 a great pod 4 Vader! Darth Vader would be proud!! Quote
LEGOscum Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 That's a very interesting concept, and somewhat parallel to the animated maquettes and such that other SW licensees do. If the LEGO license gets extended I could see LFL approving a similar line of sets (god forbid) as the amount of SW material dries up. Quote
KimT Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Great Pod. It really has that Vader's TIE Advanced look and touch. I am sure the Dark Lord would be more than happy to use this as his personal vehicle Quote
