Marko Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Tere, I was born in USSR occupied territories and LEGO was not sold here during my youth. My friend had aunt in Sweden who had fled there from approaching Red Army in 1945 with her mom and sent him some LEGO - Space it was. He was very popular in our class as he had these amazing minifigures and bricks. It was back in the 80s. In early 90s my younger brother got a small LEGO police set that was not too much to build something. 2005 I had my first son and I decided to make up all the lost time with LEGO. My first gift for him was LEGO branded mirror Then I bought almost all DUPLO ville and train sets over the two years. 2008 for Christmas my son already wanted to have LEGO prison and cargo ship. Prison he did not get and will not get but from December 2008 I have been building in his room a town called Marko Bay for me mostly. I am from Estonia but have lived in Finland, Lithuania and US for shorter periods. Before LEGO I have done go carting (when 9-12 years old), MERP & Merc RPG-s, karate, amateur theater, acting in Russian propaganda movie against smoking, shooting, drinking ... and working in hospitality, IT and education fields. And I speak language that is spoken by less than 1M people . I like modern military creations, classic town style, Indiana Jones, Ferrari, James Bond ... anything that has resemblance to the real world and has playability in it. Plus I think that I will start to like Sponge Bob soon as I have to see it almost daily. Kõike head soovides, Marko Quote
VBBN Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 A late welcome I suppose...! Estonia? That is were Kerli is from... Quote
Sandy Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Tere tulemast! That's pretty much all the estonian I know, except for "ma armastan sind", but that doesn't concern you. Anyway, it's nice to see more members from the Northern parts of Europe here. I've been to Tallinn many many times, as we Finns have a habit of going to cruises there. It's a nice city. Hope you enjoy it here! Quote
WhiteFang Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Welcome to Eurobricks! Glad you have managed to locate us. As what I have mentioned earlier, you have a nice town set up and it's defintely interesting to watch it grow. It's good to know that we have another avid Classic Town fan. Quote
mechamike Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Hi and Welcome! I been to Estonia a few times, I worked some summers at the Beachparty Festival in Otepää and have also been in Tallin a few times. Otepää was really nice in the summer (but as I understood it its more of a winter resort?) I have a lot of nice memories from Estonia. I ate some salted dried Roach (that smellt really bad) to my beer (beer was nice). It was the first time and last time.. but it sure was an interesting experience.. .. and btw nice Osprey in your town Quote

Yes, North makes you different - all these dark nights during winter, cold, wolves - you know what I mean I was exchange student to Finland for a year and I do understand why Finns come here and I am happy for that. ... I ate some salted dried Roach (that smellt really bad) to my beer (beer was nice). It was the first time and last time.. but it sure was an interesting experience.. As my mom is from one of the islands here - I have eaten salted fish tons of but you see beer truely makes it very good Quote
