Wow, they certainly sold fast didn't they? Despite my love of the Batman theme I'm really surprised at just how quickly the sets became so rare to collect.

Now I´m really glad I managed to get two sets really, really cheap (50% off):

7783 7783-1.jpg

and 7786 7786-1.jpg

In other words I only bought them because of the price, not because it was Batman.

I do love the minifigs though  - sorry, no chance to get them.

I doubt it too. The LEGO stores and S@H in the UK got rid of this Batman stock at the beginning of 2008 when it went on sale. I don't think any of that wave hit the normal retail outlets.

Ebay and Bricklink are sadly looking like the only chance to get these anymore. It's amazing how many people want this theme all of a sudden and how much it goes for now.

It seems that older Lego is easier to get than new Lego. Or dit it al got bought by collectors? It also seems that people want particular sets when they are discontinued.

Anyway, good luck on your hunt. IYou will find one sooner or later, don't worry ;)

This one is slichtly les than £18

But I would go for this one, just rip the keychane thing out, I did the same thing with my Snowtroopers, it saves a lot of money, but be carefull.

Nice! I got two of the Batcave for under $100 CAD (MSRP was $120 CAD), but I paid full price for the 7786.

Someone in the pricing department in 07 really stuffed up with these 2 Batman sets and the Spongebob ones that were recently discounted (Mrs Puff & Chum Bucket). Both these licensed lines were ludicrously overpriced in the non-US market - it was no surprise to anybody they didn't sell!

But I've never seen prices jump so high as they have for the Batman lines after the cancellation. A year ago, you'd have a tough time giving it away!
