antp Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) I'm back from a day in Lille (France) They also had the dark green 1x1, purple 1x2 and 2x2 column, but no olive green... Thanks to the charming and friendly salesgirl who searched for me a box of dark red 1x2 bricks for me in the stock (it was not in the wall), but as the 2nd cup was already nearly filled I couldn't take so much. In the satisfaction survey of the shop there is an option to thank an employee especially, but unfortunately I didn't get her name for that. When asking what I was going to build, I was a little surprised, since I just put the parts in my stock for whenever I need then She noticed that I liked the transparent blue 1x2 tiles, indeed I got many of these. Amongst other interesting parts: gold cones & grilles, some plants, fences, light purple 1x2 plates, red gem Edited July 13, 2013 by antp Quote
Lance Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Whenever we've been to the Cardiff store in the past, the PaB selection there wasn't anything too special. We won't be going to that store anymore since our friend there moved to Shepherd's Bush, and we don't live in Wales anymore. It's really complicated but it's something to do with my son's condition, I won't go into it. But does Shepherd's Bush ever have any good parts on the PaB wall? We make purchases from there every month (our friend sends them over to France for us), but we've never done a PaB there before. Quote
Kivi Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 But does Shepherd's Bush ever have any good parts on the PaB wall? We make purchases from there every month (our friend sends them over to France for us), but we've never done a PaB there before. At my visit last year there was nothing special on PaB wall. Well, at least there was nothing what I needed right then. In fact, the selection was much better in Stratford at the time, but it's difficult to tell from just one experience what can be found there in general. After all, PaB walls in both shops are quite similar in size so something useful might turn up any time. Quote
MikroMan Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Details when I'm done with counting, but I got 500+ 1x1 round tiles in LBG, a load of purple and pink and trans light blue 1x2 tiles, foliage, olive green slopes and trans clear 1x2 bricks in Munchen - Riem store. A great haul for my first PaB trip! Quote
Bearded Castle Guy Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I picked up a small cup of 1x2 Purple tiles with my personal tradition of 4 2x4 grey bricks in the stud formed in the lid. This was at the MoA store, due to the timing of my visit the wall was pretty well picked over being late on a Sunday afternoon. Quote
MikroMan Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) Finally came home, sorted and counted pieces... Let's review: This was my first PaB trip. First I visited Riem Arcaden in Munchen, where I filled up two large cups. I filled one by stacking 1x1/2 bricks and plates around the edge in 16 or 17 bricks high stacks, filled the middle with foliage, etc. The second cup was simply jammed full of 1x1 and 1x2 tiles and round plates. The third cup was filled in Koln. Items of interest: -dark purple and pink tiles -bright green 6x12 plates -round plates with arms -2x2 white jumpers -SNOT foursided brick -cheese slopes -1x8 blue tiles -2x2 round pillar bricks -1x1 round LBG tiles! -trans clear bricks The odd items in small quantities are stuff that didn't particularly interest me, but I jammed it in when I had some space free at the top (windows, fence, mudguards...) 3 cups = 48 EUR, plus an employee gave me a LEGO keychain and a Chima poster. The total amount of parts = 4048 (obviously mainly achieved because of 1x1 and 1x2 parts) Average paid per part = 0,113 EUR BL calculated average is 325 EUR. Average calculated = 0,803 EUR Overall, I'm extremely happy with my first PaB Trip The employees were great and in Koln one reminded me to fill the lid when I forgot it. Infernum Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I've heard of people being able to buy unopened boxes of a P-a-B part at LEGO stores. Anyone know the cost of the boxes? Quote
PenPlays Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 $70. I have never brought myself to do it, but I have considered it. Quote
CamelBoy68 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Well I made the trip around the UK and these are the tubs I collected (I recycled as I went)... That's 34 Large & 3 Small. I'm still in the process of sorting/counting, so will post a summary soon... Quote

CamelBoy68 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 You've got 12 hours or so to reach as many different Lego PAB walls as possible, bring them back and build something from your booty! I took the more sedate 4.5 days instead... You'd have to agree where to start, close to a store or in the middle of the country, although that cuts into available time. I think you would have to rule out the North & Cardiff, not just to distances, but lack of promixity to the stores. Which leaves: Brighton Bluewater Stratford Milton Keynes Watford Westfield Which I think you could easily do in a day ! Make sure you finish at Westfield, as they shut at 22:00 You would also have to make clear what constitutes a visit to a PAB. qty of large/qty of small/minimum type of bricks (ie, you just can fill one large with 1x1 tiles) But, yes I would be up for some of that.... SirDuc Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Hello folks. I just went to the official Lego store in Denmark on "Strøget". I bought the large pick a brick cup for 129kr - thats around 17,30 euro's. I managed to fill 1679 pieces in it, mostly 1x1 round plates and 1x2 tiles. And some flowers and cones. That is a damn good price per piece yeah. The plan is to go there in a few months to see what pieces will be available at the time. Sorry no pictures. Anybody else tried this ? Cheers Mike Quote
FuzzyBallz Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Yes, many people tried this. See the thread below yours. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27795 Quote

Paperballpark Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 A PAB Crawl! Now that sounds like it could be great fun. You've got 12 hours or so to reach as many different Lego PAB walls as possible, bring them back and build something from your booty! Someone should arrange a 2-day PAB crawl for AFOLs... One day for the north - Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and one day for the south - Bluewater, Stratford, Watford and Westfield.Drinks and chat in the evenings, chat on the trains to and from the places, and book a cheap hotel each night. I think I've hit on the perfect stag do for if I ever get married... Quote
legokingnm Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 A large pick a brick cup for 1703 1x2 tiles without particularly trying. Hope that helps SOMEONE Quote
timmyc1983 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I've just skimmed through this whole thread and it's quite awe inspiring. I am so jealous of you guys having PaB walls and LEGO stores.... To be able to go to a store every week and see what's on the wall would be amazing! I get excited enough sorting through my BL orders, but this would on another level! I hope one day a LEGO store will open up in Australia, til then I will have to live vicariously through all of your booty and BL.... Quote
Redhead1982 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I was in Vienna on Friday at the brand store opening, and filled two cups very quickly. I got a bunch of olive green cheese slopes, and some redish brown plates, and 1x1 dark green bricks. Overall, the selection on PaB was fine, but there were also lots of basic bricks (2x4s). Quote
Infernum Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I got a bunch of olive green cheese slopes . Hope to see these show up at my local store soon, as well as the trans-blue 1x2 tiles. I want those olive slopes so bad though. I can only hope though, as they seem to be popping up all over the place! Quote
antp Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I also want these olive tiles, they look great for roofs :) I already got the trans-blue tiles. Indeed it seems that these parts arrive in all the stores. Quote
BEAVeR Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) This year, our family holiday led us to the USa: the land of possibilities, the land of cheap Lego! Since there's no Lego store anywhere near I live (in Belgium), I really wanted to visit one. I chose the store in Glendale (AZ), near Phoenix. What a joy to see all those Lego sets neatly stacked, and those big sets nicely displayed for my eyes to see and my mouth to drewl upon . And then there was the Pick a Brick wall... my dreams came true... Using everything I knew about efficient stacking (thanks to this thread!), I filled a big cup. I asked if the lid had to fit on snugly - for I knew in most shops it mustn't - and I was able to fit in even more bricks. (Service in Lego stores is so good!) We begin with what I got. Then the next picture is how I fit all those bricks in there. The last picture finally shows all the bricks I got in their full glory. And here are the stats: (sorry for the crappy picture I don't know how to make a proper table ) 672 pieces for 18 USD!!! What do you need more in life? I was so extatic, I even began to build this super moderate MOC, using just the bricks from my cup: The evil sith goat! I hope you forgive my way too long post, my way too enthusiastic behaviour, my total incompetence with photography and tables and this MOC that looks as if it's made by a six year old todler with way too much imagination. But who isn't enthusiastic after visiting a Lego store? I absolutely love it! And since there's probably one coming to Belgium soon (and not too far from where I live), I'll be enthusiastic a lot in the future... Edited August 27, 2013 by BEAVeR Quote
jimmynick Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I've been to Brickbuildr already, and the results for two of the stores I'm interested in are a bit old (a few months). In terms of small plates (1x1, 1x2, 1x4, 2x2 corner, etc.) in light tan (and, to some extent, dark tan), what is the selection like at: Water Tower Place (Chicago, IL) Tysons Corner (McLean, VA) Potomac Mills (Woodbridge, VA) If anyone's been to any of those recently and would like to share, it'd be a great help. Thanks! Oh, and dark bley tiles 2x4 too. Quote
