From my visit in the new store in Belgium:

( more info about the store in the related thread: http://www.eurobrick...0 )

1VVvLSB.jpg

I think I took a little many olive cheese slopes and white/gold grilles  (on the road coming home, I was thinking "maybe I should have taken more cheese slopes, but while sorting all these I thought that in the end I had enough of these)

Additionally to what is visible here, there were:

- tiles 2x2 yellow

- tiles 1x2 dark purple & transparent light blue

- plates 1x1 transparent yellow

- more classic bricks/plates

Should we challenge you to do a store window display with every one of those olive coloured cheese? :classic:

Too easy I'd just build a forest. Though it's not a bad idea, showing how to use the PaB wall selections in a very clear way. I've done that in the past but I doubt never that clearly.

Brickbuildr hadn't been updated for several weeks so I decided to check out the inventory at my local store. I was blown away by the selection of specialty pieces that they had on the wall. I found many leafy greens, masonry bricks, tiles and harder to find colors in certain bricks. Needless to say I was thrilled!

Where do you live Runnersdad? I'm trying to track where the masonry bricks are showing up.

I live in St. Louis. I went on Monday and the manager indicated that she ordered them as soon as she was allowed to place an order. Based on our conversation I can only assume that stores are provided PAB inventory on a first come first serve basis. If you have a manager that is motivated and on top of ordering than you will end up with a better inventory.

Found out yesterday that the store here is getting ready to place an order for their PAB wall. Can't wait. Right now, the wall looks like this:

http://wallofbricks.com/pab-display.php?country=USA&pab_store_id=127

For a city builder, there's not much. Most of what I use is 1x, not 2x, but the kids love them and right now it's what moves.

I put in my request for black headlights and gray 2x2 tiles, so we'll see what happens. Fingers crossed!

Posted

It is sad that they put so many 2x :/ It is normal that they can't put only parts interesting for AFOLs, but they should include more 1x than 2x, even for many kids these are useful for building.

I went to the Lego Store in Burlington, MA yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised to find 1x2 in dark red -- loaded up on those! Also grabbed some tree leaves, white farm fences, 1x1 light blue-gray tiles(!) and a fair amount of yellow 2x2 tiles and dark green 1x1 bricks. Great selection overall. Only problem was leaving with a light wallet...

jaysapathy,

Good to see someone else from Salt Lake. I have been to the Fashion Place mall 3 times to visit that store since it opened and filled 1 cup so far. As I was filling the cup there was a guy there filling up 3 cups and taking time to pack them in extremely well. I did some basic packing for some increased benifit but with the wife with me I didn't take to much time with it. I informed this guy with a couple kids that was filling a cup that he needed to stack them and it will increase the amount he could fit in. His first comment was thanks but maybe he will do it next time. A little while later he was staking them and he said to me he increased the amount by and easy 20%. Funny thing was his kids that were with him looked annoyed that their dad was taking so long to get some Legos.

I was there yesterday for the Grand Opening but didn't really see anything new so didn't pick up anything. I have my eyes on anything that will allow me to build the old Modular sets that are no longer available. I know the white grills are available currently but what I really want to get is some of the metallic grills.

I also like to think I was one of the reasons Salt Lake now has a LEGO store since I took the time to write them a very long letter on why Utah should get one. It was back in 2012 and I received a reply back letting me know I had giving some very good reasons to why Salt Lake should get one but at the time it was not on the list of cities. Lets just say I was extremely excited to see the list in February that Salt Lake was on it for a September opening.

Cara, could you PM me if you ever see masonry bricks, headlight bricks, or travis bricks at the Santa Clara store? Thanks.

The Cincinnati, OH store has some fairly epic pieces that seem to be quite similar to the other recent hauls in the thread from all over the world, oddly enough.

I picked up a little bit of everything!

1x2 pink tile

olive green cheese!

1x2 pearl gold grille tile

1x2 white grille tile

1x1 dark green brick

1x1 lime brick

1x4 green tile

1x4 brown tile

1x4 white tile

1x4 blue

1x2 purple tile

pearl gold cone

2x3 purple plates

trans dark blue cones (not sure of the color? Looks odd)

1x2 trans clear bricks (I use these a lot for windows)

2x2 round trans yellow bricks

So many 1xX tiles!

The also had grass and large leaf pieces, 2x2 red tiles, chairs, trans red cones, dunno what else.

Some oddballs, tiles are MOC staples, not too many brick staples, though.

Very said to hear that they have the elusive "brick bricks" aka masonry profile 1x2 bricks, but they were GONE THAT MORNING. Arg.

Anyway, now to see what I can do with a half a cup of olive cheese that I've been drooling over. (Roof for one of my semi-modulars, methinks)

If you are from the area, PM me. Would like to know some local folks, maybe go in on a box of brick bricks and am looking to split a box of CMF Simposons in the future if it really happens...

That could have very easily have been me filling the three cups. Although, it would have been me and the wife filling them (she's as crazy about them as me), so probably not. It's quite a hoot to see the mentality of Utah-ites, trying to get every last penny out of the cups in ways I didn't think possible. Nobody's as stingy as a Utah mommy.

I was there yesterday for the Grand Opening but didn't really see anything new so didn't pick up anything. I have my eyes on anything that will allow me to build the old Modular sets that are no longer available. I know the white grills are available currently but what I really want to get is some of the metallic grills.

When I saw on the Facebook page that they'd be handing out tickets starting @ 6am Friday and then saw people camped on the sidewalk for it at 6am THURSDAY, I knew then that I wasn't going to be bothered with the GO. Especially with Mormon Conference going on the same weekend. SLC was a nightmare for traffic. Have you talked to the manager about making a special order for your metallic grills? She can put in requests at the very least.

Haven't been in to the store in the last 10 days or so -- not sure what's changed on the wall. I keep meaning to go up and buy the rest of my missing modulars, but something always comes up. In that sense, I mean that if I wait until Monday, I get a free Christmas set with my modular, and if I buy both of them in separate transactions, I get both Christmas sets free plus double points. I'm anxious for Monday to hurry up and get here. A shame, though, because the 10% off coupon expires on the 13th..

Apparently both Santa Clara and San Mateo had msonry in in the last two weeks but sold out quickly. And Stoneridge thinks they've never had it. :(

St. Louis sold out of the masonry bricks in less than a week. I was lucky to have gotten a couple hundred when I did because I went back on Tuesday of this week and they had been sold out since last Friday. The 6x? plants were almost gone too but I was fortunately able to grab some more of those.

Posted

It has 1x1 sand green tiles listed. I'm pretty sure those were only in a couple of sets over 10 years ago. I know this because I need a lot of those for my Hogwarts project.

Posted

Yeah, that seems suspicious. Also, do the pearl light gray 1 x 4 bricks listed even exist? I saw two guys on BrickOwl selling them, but no mention of the set they came in there or Bricklink.

I have a large lot of pearl grey bricks and plates (1x2, 1x3, 1x4, and some plates) I suspect LEGO had planned something some years ago like all silver model (a silver jet perhaps?) and had lots of those parts but never released any set using them. They probably ended up in a few lucky LEGO stores.

It is fairly rare but pearl grey do exists in unusually large quantity despite not being used in official sets.

This is not just a cup. I decided to post what I got from my last PAB large-cup from my local Lego store an the results of my bag-full from Legoland Saturday October 12, 2013.

This is a bag of bricks from Legoland CA from Saturday October 12, 2013. This is what 1 3/4 pounds of these elements looks like.

These are the sorted bricks from the bag. It shows me I really should have gotten more of the Olive Green cheese slopes. There are a few bricks in Grey, White and Brown, some brown 1x4 tiles, some 2x2 white jumper plates, some 1x2 inverted white slopes, some hand picked 1x2 black jumper plates (they were mixed in with 6 bins of 1x2 black plates, just sitting on the top). Some Olive Green Cheese Slopes (I can now see that it is not nearly enough) some Trans Orange Cheese Slopes, come Trans Red cones, tubes, and 1x1 rounds. Some grey 1x1 round a few 1x3 trans window glass, some 1x2 white windows a few white doors.

Some unintended pieces. Because I usually get LEGO from bins by the handful there are always some pieces that should not have been in a bin, and this is the result.

The large cup dumped carefully to not disturb the layering. Note the leaves were not shown in the top of the cup because I had already removed them to use 2 or 3 in a MOC.

Contents of cup by MyPlasticBricks, on Flickr

The contents of the Large cup sorted. Just some Trans Clear 1x2 bricks, some 1x3 white bricks, some 1x4 white window frames some light green leaves and one door and frame. Funny story about the door and door frame. The manager asked if I got any doors and frames. I said no, because there weren’t any. She pulled one from her pocket and said, now you have one. It seems she likes to carry something in her pocket to click (nervous habit). It was a parting gift as she was leaving LEGO the following week. Such a pleasant person, I looked forward to seeing her each time I visited, she will be missed.

This is a first for me. I sorted and integrated my latest PAB cup and bag ‘O LEGO very quickly. Usually it takes me over a month from purchase to sorting into my inventory. Maybe I am turning over a new leaf to get my LEGO organized so I know what I have. Wish me luck continuing this.

Yes, they were planning to build some Boeing plane, but they never finished it and I guess they parted out the pieces to Lego retailers. I wish I had some of those, someone was lucky enough to get enough to build an awesome diner out of them, they are the perfect color. I have also seen pics of the airplane, I don't know where tho.

Stopped in on Saturday and picked up two cups: one cup that was mostly wheels, axles, and tires (plus assorted odds and ends) and a second one that had a bunch of generic 1x2s in their normal color. Got some tan 1x3s too. The store is reporting that their PAB wall is getting low, and will hopefully be getting a shipment soon, but we'll see..

The real win was the Minifig bin though -- witches hats, spiders, women's dress bases, saxophonist hats (and saxophones!), pitchforks, and a host of new torsos. Rawr.

THE WINDOW PANES FINALLY SHOWED?!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!!!

The windows have been in the back since the store opened, they just didn't have panes to go with. Sounds like I'm taking a trip this weekend.

Did you notice anything else new? The wall looked like this the last time I was in.. http://wallofbricks.com/pab-display.php?country=USA&pab_store_id=127

But the last time I was in was, well, Monday?
