SupaaSayajin Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Someone needs to get 1 for me as Lego seems to have some stuipd Uslover guys at the topseat -.- Really hate those "exclusives" no matter which country Quote
Erdbeereis Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Now, I'm not KimT, but if he were here at this exact moment I think he would say " Stay on target!". We should probably stop complaining about this country gets this, this country gets that and focus on a pretty decent poster. Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 C'mon guys cool it. [...] Stop your petty whining please. [...] A wise man once said that if you've got nothing good to say then just keep quiet. Just an open question, not to be interpreted any way but neutral: why host a forum if you don't want to hear other opinions? As for the poster. Looks cool. Sure, it doesn't have all the minifigs, but it'd look mighty fine on any LEGO fan's wall, I'm sure. Annoying that it's only for Americans, but there'll be loads of people putting theirs on eBay or BrickLink. Personally, I would've preferred something else to celebrate the birthday, but I'm being served with the Home One and indeed the book with exclusive minifig. All in all, very cool of TLC to treat us to a line-up of wonderful sets and extra stuff for this anniversary. Quote
Bricks Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 If you really want this poster. You can use the High-End version and print this with an laser-printer at an shop. The easiest way. -Sorry was Off-Topic- 'Bricks' Quote
Darth Legolas Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Geez, what a friggin let down! Booo! Maybe the posters cool, but I don't need any of that if I've already got all of them! Except for the summer minifigs, of course. Also, it's really unfair to all Europeans. And this offer really only appeals to anyone who wants a giant MF right now. Mostly all of the people who want it, have it! I wanted a pre-released summer set!!! Quote
AND3RSEN Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 C'mon guys cool it.What's wrong with you? Here TLG's giving us a free poster and all you do is whine about it? You don't have to get this poster. Stop your petty whining please. I think it's cool they've made a poster for us - now I need to find out how to get it. I really couldn't care less wether they've included all those 281 minifigs done so far. A 160 is fine by me... it'll still look cool on the wall in my home. If you want a perfect poster, then I suggest you buy every single minifig there is and do your own. A wise man once said that if you've got nothing good to say then just keep quiet. And I am fairly sure they forgot nothing. It's all a question of what the choose to include on this poster. Do you really thing they've got no idea as to which minifig they put into production over the years? Don't be so naive. exactly what i was thinking. and mine will be arriving tuesday with the clone walker battlepack! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I see a lot of people complaining about the omission of every variant, or saying they "forgot" this figure or that. I don't think that's actually meant to be the point of the poster; it's not intended to be a definitive reference or something like that. I think it's simply meant to take a representative selection from the larger body of Star Wars minifigures produced over the years. Geez, what a friggin let down! Just because you've managed to get everything doesn't mean everyone else has. I'm actually quite doubtful "mostly all" of the people who want the UCS Millennium Falcon have it already, considering how expensive it is, and I imagine only a small fraction of all LEGO Star Wars enthusiasts have all the minifigures, or even all the ones on the poster. The unavailability to non-US fans does sting, though, I'm sure, and it's too bad TLC hasn't made it available to them. I imagine part of the reason for that is that it's being offered in conjunction with the contest for the UCS Falcon set, and the differing laws from one country to another make it difficult to have sweepstakes and the like that are offered simultaneously in lots of different countries (not impossible - Apple sometimes has international contests with iTunes download milestones, for example - but it does have a lot of legal barriers, and often companies just decide it's not worth the hassle), but I do wish all our non-US friends here had the same access to it. Hopefully LEGO will find some alternate means of distributing it for fans in other countries. Quote
GoN2Broadway Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I love the Lego offer, but I'm also somewhat upset (not at Lego)... I decided two days ago to purchase 10179 through Amazon because they had a sale on it, where it was 10% off and I got free one day shipping, however, as I stayed up last night to see the offer, I was surprised to see the same set go 25% off!!! As Luke said in Episode V: "NOOOOOOO.... IT'S NOT TRUE" Well, at least I got a wonderful set! Quote
ILikePi Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) Did anyone try buying a brick or something to get a free poster? All you have to pay is like $5 for shipping. EDIT: When I get the poster, I'll try scanning it for you guys if it's not too large. Edited May 3, 2009 by ILikePi Quote

EDIT: When I get the poster, I'll try scanning it for you guys if it's not too large. I debated getting a couple of parts from PAB but it seemed like a lot to pay for the shipping. I believe it`s calculated by price, not weight or size, which seems weird. Quote
kill will Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Hm, this looks interesting. But I no longer buy from S@H, so I won't be getting this. Quote
starstreak Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Oh man, wife is gonna kill me. I ordered the MLF. Please don't let it go cheaper for at least 6 months... Quote
Bobskink Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Oh man, wife is gonna kill me. I ordered the MLF. Please don't let it go cheaper for at least 6 months... haha, the UCS Falcon is a real home wrecker. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Oh man, wife is gonna kill me. I ordered the MLF. Please don't let it go cheaper for at least 6 months... Hey, at least you got it for $125 less than lots of other people (and in so doing, you also saved on the shipping)... That said, while $375 is a great deal for this set, it's still a lot more than I can afford. I went ahead and ordered about $20 worth of PAB, and I'll just have to hope I win one of the three Millennium Falcon sets they're giving away. I may place one additional small order shortly, to get a second copy of the poster and another shot at winning (not to mention the additional LEGO I want, of course)... Quote
Fluyt Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) I think it's cool they've made a poster for us - now I need to find out how to get it. They didn't make a poster for us, they made a poster (like a lot of other exclusives and special deals) just for the U.S. Edited May 3, 2009 by Fluyt Quote
Bobskink Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 They didn't make a poster for us, they made a poster (like a lot of other exclusives and special deals) just for the U.S. Maybe it is time we start a topic about the USA exclusives. So we can talk about it over there. The reason why I think it would be good is because this site is called Eurobricks and a lot of people talk about Lego USA like it's Lego in general and that really bothers me, since they apereantly are not the same. EDIT: When I get the poster, I'll try scanning it for you guys if it's not too large. 1. I woudn't worry as the link I provided has a high res pic and scanning it may be hard as it seems big. 161 pictures of figures. 2. Ok I can accept wining but lets look on the bright side TLC are robbing them of their money not us in the rest of the world. 3. I wish they had made two so they could get all the figs. A one I can't see that I wanted to see was the original yoda and they also miss out on the old episode two clones. 4. Well sorry to be off topic but at least we can all enter the invasion contest which will bring 3 people real happiness especially me if I win after I submit an entry. Derek Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Anyone know how big the poster is? If its decent sized, I will but in a small order just to get it, as the $5 I would pay for shipping is what a poster costs in the store... Quote
soc399 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 While its a very cool idea IMO, nothing and nobody is perfect. I ordered a few things for the kid since it is her birthday. Not sure what I'll do with the poster just yet. I wonder if it will be mailed flat or rolled. I imagine flat and folded... The FBTB front page says that it will be flat and folded for logistical reasons. Quote
MinifigHQ Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Australia misses out again i take it? We spoke with Lego Customer service in Australia last week and were told that the poster would be included with the next issue of the Lego Club magazine. So there is hope for us Aussies. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 We spoke with Lego Customer service in Australia last week and were told that the poster would be included with the next issue of the Lego Club magazine. So there is hope for us Aussies. Possibly with the UK to then . Quote
-JD- Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) Possibly with the UK to then . I hope so, considering we were not included in the offer on LEGO.com. Why did LEGO not do the magazine give away in the US as well? It makes no sense. Greetings, JD Edited May 4, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
pedro Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I happen to think that the poster is really nice. I've downloaded the hi-res image and looked at it loads of times. It's great to see pics of so many minifigs together, conjuring up feelings of nostalgia and anticipation with the mix of classic and new un-released minifigs... I'd proudly hang this on my wall Just a shame that the offer was only on in the US... again. I think if you feel inclined to complain with your lot in the US then bear this in mind: you could but from shop@home and as a bonus get... NOTHING... like we do! Possibly with the UK to then . Then there might be hope for us yet! As soon as I read this I immediately signed up for the LEGO club magazine Until then I think I'll print out the poster on some nice A3 photo paper. Oh man, wife is gonna kill me. I ordered the MLF. Please don't let it go cheaper for at least 6 months... Good luck to you mate. I hope she's as understanding as my wife is! Quote
